Sata drops Nsanda

Share

Willie Nsanda

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) president Michael Sata has dropped former Chimwemwe member of Parliament (MP) Willie Nsanda and former Zambia Federation of Employers chairperson George Chabwera from contesting in next month’s general elections in the on-going chaotic adoption process.

According to PF sources, Dr Chabwera and Mr Nsanda, alongside outspoken former Munali MP Mumbi Phiri, were not among the 150 applicants who were given adoption certificates by PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba on Saturday evening after two days of arguments by the national executive committee chaired by Mr Sata.

The candidate who was favoured by the grassroots members to contest the Mandevu seat, Philemon Nyirenda has since broken ranks with Mr Sata and decided to contest the seat as an independent candidate.

This was after NEC adopted former MP Jean Kapata.

This is according to information made available to the Times shortly after the meeting on Friday night when it was decided that Ms Phiri could not win any election in Lusaka.

The PF NEC held protracted meetings that ended around 23:00 hours on Thursday, Friday and part of Saturday when they reconvened and the debate was finalised.

In Chipata Central, Mr Sata’s party adopted former deputy minister of Works and Supply Lameck Mangani while Leonard Banda would contest in Petauke Central where the ruling party has MMD spokesperson Dora Siliya.

First Republican president Kenneth Kaunda’s son Kaweche would contest in Malambo Constituency where the MMD has former Mines minister Maxwell Mwale and Lambwe Kachali would contest in Chama North Constituency on the PF ticket.

Boniface Botha would contest in Chasefu Constituency while Evans Ngoma would contest in Lundazi Central, with Clement Mwale being the candidate for Lumezi.

Former Petauke District Commissioner George Zulu is the PF candidate for Luangeni while Caroline Mwanza would contest in Kapoche.

Nkandu Luo was given a certificate to contest in Munali despite facing wide rejections from the grassroots organs that had preferred former Lusaka Province chairperson, Erick Chanda.

  1. ‘chaotic adoption process’, ‘two days of arguments by the MCC’s chaired by sata’…these two phrases sum up this whole debacle.

  2. NSANADA has been left out…..atleast now SATA now has come to his senses that you can not run the Government full of kaponyas like willie Nsanda…….there we go like UPND kasoko despite rejected by grass root. He wanted UPND president to intervened for him to contest after doing nothing for the past 10 years in parliament…Did you hear him speaking in the parliament this man called kasoko. some people are evn suprised to hear UPND chairman, he reals speaks this man.

  3. Just wait and see…MMD is scared of the list thats why they are talking anyhow……..
This year..the sabmarine will be in state house…Pabwato………..

  4. These guys are not ready to govern face it. What have they been doing all this time? They should have sorted out their house earlier. Was Sata really expecting a mass exodus from MMD or what. If so then he is even more mad than I thought. God will not subject innocent zambians to this circus in Jesus Name.

  5. No constituency is personal-to-holder. It was expected that some will have to fall by the way side. It is a pity that the former vocal Munali MP Mumbi Phiri has not been adopted. She exhibited blind loyalty to Sata to the extend of bahaving foolishly thinking that she will earn some favour from the party top brass. She even played the role of Chief She Kaponya together with Jean Kapata. Now she is wallowing in limbo. I wonder how she is feeling. Politics are for mature people and not those who think popularity is gained by commenting negatively on every issue just because it is done by the govt. Maybe Mumbi Phiri should reconsider going back to Pre-School teaching.

  6. Two days of debating these is good i thought LT told us that Sata had imposed candidates fellow blogger help me understand the similarity between debating and imposing, does imposing go with debate.?… Its good to learn that PF had a two days debate it shows maturity and transparency…

  8. PF give us a full list of 150 parliamentary candidates. we want to see where these failures in life are going.

  9. Please be informed that Willie Nsanda is a campaign for Sata in this elections and Nsanda himself preffered not stand pave way for others . Lusaka Times get your facts correctly before publishing. Dr Chabwera is a mole planted in our party by MMD.

  10. #10 wampwisha mwana thats good analysis.sure what was this debate all about if sata imposed candidates?ubufi bulaya nokubwela

  11. What of that thing called GBM. Has it been adopted? That thing is full of nothing but insults. Even going to Intecity Bus Terminus to buy insults from call boys. Am not being malicious but this is something I witnessed with my own eyes.

  12. Nkandu Luo for Munali! She is very educated,in fact,a Professor for that matter. But Guys, believe me you, this creature is a total political failure. We campaigned for this thing in Mandevu during the Late FTJs time. When the thing became MP,what did it do?NOTHING.

  13. NSANDA WILLIE WAS THE WORST MP FOR PF THOUG HE NEVER REBELLED AGAINST THE PARTY. HE CANNOT STAND ANYWHERE. EVEN THE LAST ELECTIONS HE WAS NOT THE FAVOURITE AT GRASS ROOT INSTEAD PIPO WANTED MULENGA CHAMATA BUT INSTEAD SIDELINED HIM FOR NSANDA. AM HAPPY THAT HE IS NOT AMONG THE CANDIDATES.

  14. Sata hand-picks ‘MPs[Zambia Daily Mail -28.07.2011]>>>>>>>

these so- called directors at the public media are pathetic in the way they do their lies, we know that they,r doing it just to have bread on the tables but they must realize the need to protect their integrity aswell, How can the party who’s president “hands picks MPs” have debates which even lasts for 3days just to select MPs ? this kind of sebanawikute is just pathetic and saddening .

  15. What a lame team. Kaweche in Malambo, his mother’s origin and following after Wezi! Someone thinks that Kaunda’s name is still a factor in Zambian politics.

  16. @Sir G the same paper told as that Masebo was adopted for Munali surprising enough Masebo is in Chongwe while Luo in Munali

  17. @MATEPETA tasinta has helped a lot of people lets not just insult just for the sake of insulting Luo has done alot to help sex workers which maybe you yourself has never done. Maybe you have never even helped you family who knows…

  18. You see ladies and gents a coach always picks the team players he feels can perform. If Sata wins he will need a certain calibre of men and women to form cabinet e.g. Prof Luo, Bob Sichinga etc. Unless of course you prefer a group of kaponyas formulating government policy.

  19. Nkandu Luo is not a performer but a thief who is on record to have stolen huge sums of money during the ICASA meeting at mulungushi international conference centre. Pliz fellow Zambia, lets vote with our brains and reject people like Luo. Even if it means stealing let others also steal rather than having the same people stealing. Other than reforming the sex workers, she has done nothing. In fact going by the way she was wearing min-skirts to the extent of showing her groin each time she sit down, she must be a tasinta herself. My heart bleeds when i hear people like Dr. Machungwa, Nkandu Luo, Michael Sata still in politics, what is it that they forgot to do when they had a chance to serve in government. AGALU OPANDA PACHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. Q&A #29, my sentiments exactly. These are the people who look down on farmers but push their trolleys buying farm produce in shops. Some of these should actually thank TASINTHA that they married their wives who have not told them they are reformed sex-workers…

  21. If the only party, they fear is PF. You must be very afraid. They know sata will not win in western province, southern, central and north-western provinces so the only place they think, they can get more votes is SATA’s strong hold that is why they concerned about sata not that he is popular. The other thing is that if RB wins with few MPs, he want the UPND to work with them until his tern expires. that waty will put HH in driving seat…Even though we told sata will still contest in 2016 elections.

  22. Hello ba mumbwe, SATA made his own list and it is out of that list where the debates arose. Without this meeting, many were going to be imposed by SATA. Can we have the whole list pliz. But count out southern, n/western and western provinces. Never be cheated, No PF in Zambezi, Kasempa, Mwinilunga, Chavuma, Kabompo etc. RB NIZEEE PANKOLOKOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

  23. Can someone please update me on the voter population by region? Maybe we’ll answer some other questions. But it’s clear the battle is between PF and MMD.

  24. Nsanda has been dropped because people have reminded Mr Serpent that he (Nsanda) was told by Mr Serpent that he (Sepent) was from Tanzania and his name is Zondwa. Zondwa the Serpent is now feeling the heat!

  25. @34 THANKS FOR CLARIFYING. ACTUALLY HH IS AN OPPORTUNIST WHO ONLY BELIEVES IN GETTING THINNGS THE BACK DOOR. SO THE UNDER FIVE IS TRYING TO OUTWAIT RB… HA! HA! HA! THANK GOD HE WONT LAST IN UPND AFTER LOSING THIS ELECTION IN A DISTANT THIRD POSITION

  26. WE’LL WAIT FOR THE OFFICIAL LIST FROM THE PF SECRETARIAT………WHY COMMENT ON HEARSAY FROM TIMES OF LIES……..WE KNOW MMD HAVE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS AND HENCE THE SPECULATION………BOLA PANSHI BAICHE……SATA’S WINNING TEAM IS SET TO TEACH THE MMD A LESSON THEY’LL NEVER FORGET……WORSE THAN THE THRASHING UNIP GOT IN 1991 FROM THE ‘TRUE BLUES’ OF YEASTER YEAR………NOW THE NEW VERSION MMD IS FULL OF PEOPLE FROM NYASALAND (ASK WILLY ‘DEPORTEE’ BLUNDER)……..NI BYE, BYE POLIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. Halo, some one ask chi mangani for me,where is the mass exodus of mps from MMD to PF he prophesised after disolution of parliament. Wanya chikalaaa ukalya impemba

  28. @24, The debate was because of the widespread rejections. Strategically, Mr Sata decided to involve his Central Committee (NOT NEC by the way) to help him handle the situation but mainly to hoodwink his cadres that he consulted even in the original adoptions. But he is wrong again, this time most of his cadres have seen him for what he really is, they will ditch him clean come 20th.

  29. But imwe ba PF zoona – why do you sound monga kudala 1991??? Even the language you are using to support your so-called president Sata is so old-fashioned. Just because you support soembody it doesn’t mean even the wrong things they do are right! This is so 1991 and boring. Support yachifana!!! Ukaponya weka weka!!!

  30. I don’t even know why people are wasting time advising PF. Why? Save your advice for the winning party MMD. Whether Sata drops or picks up Nsanda, it’s of no consequence to the people of Zambia.

  31. Dr Chabwera ubupuba! Your gamble has backfired big time; instead of just talking nicely to your old pal RB, you thought the serpent would take you under his wing? Nkani yalula…

  32. Poor journalism. How o you add your own comments such as “on-going chaotic adoption process” and “despite facing wide rejections from the grassroots organs”. This clearly shows biasness and lack of objectivity.

  33. this just shows that pv is losing it now. with all these confusions ala mwandi pipo in the ground are frastrated. now its just pamkoloko

  34. Quote: “PATRIOTIC Front (PF) president Michael Sata has dropped former Chimwemwe member of Parliament (MP) Willie Nsanda and former Zambia Federation of Employers chairperson George Chabwera….”

This is what is wrong with govt newspapers. After portraying the PF NEC meeting as a one man show in the headline and first paragraph, ToZ goes on to state that there was a vigorous debate during the PF adoptions at NEC. So, was Sata debating with himself for him to singularly reject these candidates? Or was this a group effort? I thought LT, ToZ, and you MMD sycophants said Sata is simply imposing candidates, so what is this “TWO DAY VIGOROUS DEBATE” you are talking about?
Why do Zambian journalists these days can’t just stay neutral and just state facts as they are?—sickening!!

  35. You pick up a hitchhiker… A beautiful girl.
Suddenly she faints inside your car and you take her to the hospital.
    Now that’s stressful.

But at the hospital, they say she is pregnant &
congratulate you that you’re going to be a father.
You say that you are not the father, but the girl says you are.
    This is getting very stressful!

You request a DNA test to prove that you are not the father.

    After the tests are completed,
The doctor says the test shows you’re infertile,
And probably have been since birth.
    You’re extremely stressed but relieved.

On your way back home, you think about your 5 kids at home. kekekekekekekekeke

  36. Kaweche, 27yrs u and yo mama enjoyed state hse forgetting yo roots……….now that others have began the good work of developing Malambo u want to come and reap where u didnt sow, shame on you!! 27 yrs yet u left no legacy to talk about in Malambo apart from the stinginess of your family and selling to poor villagers the dry kapenta meant for charity work…………we have not forgotten. we rejected u in 2006 and we shall reject u again no matter what party u choose to stand on

  37. Please the media should be truthful. Nsanda never re-applied to contest his seat. Why all these lies ba jornos? Dont mislead Zambians.

  38. #49 SIR G —— Your mind is wicked but also crazy! Why would you imagine such a sad, suicidal scenario??? LOL! Tell you what….I would go back home happy, to my children whom I never fathered. It means there is something that my wife has seen in me, something more important than children. And that is enough motivation to continue living bwana!! Have a nice day! I need a pint, you could easily dream of ushc a scenario and wake up sweating!!!!

  39. We shall have more fun and intertainment to be staged by the PF (Pa Fwaka) Party Circus Ltd as soon as the full list of adopted candidates is officially published. It will not be a fight between PF vs other parties, but rather will certainly be a fight between the PF adopted MPs vs PF non-adopted MPs. This will effectively entail the splitting their own (PF’s) voters into two camps without necessarily affecting the allegiance of UPND & MMD voters. The other problem is the “Chiluba factor”, meaning that PF without the support of Luapula is effectively dead before the onset of elections. Sata will just migrate back to his Tanzanian home area in disgrace.

  40. PF’s delayed announcement of its adopted candidtates was just a ploy to dribble personalities that were not in good books with Sata. Whitherto ba Dr. Chabwela who has just destroyed his business talent by opting for sour politics. Bus companies such as Marks Motorways and Germins are limping because their owners opted to go into politics –

  41. Welldone PF. No one should pretend that this is an easy process. Right across parties that are worth a mention re: 2011 elections, there have been those who have been selected and those who have not.

Those who have been left out must now go on to campaign for their party’s victory.

  42. Nsendamenipo mukwai bonse, some PF matters are not worth a comment. Good enough to watch the comedians decampaign themselves.

  43. I hv strong conviction that PF wl get away with at least 3 seats in Eastern Prov. this time around. People, RB is packing, bcz he is in trouble even in the province he claims he comes from. I am puting ?10,000 on Sata winnig-anyone interestd in betting among the MMD die hards? eeei, bwana MMD Chief bootlicker and your Assistant this is the time for you to show that you really talk with deep conviction about yr MMD-bikenipo money!

  44. I have not yet made up my mind on whether to vote for PF or MMD, still weghing the candidates till the 19th of Sept.Wish me a wise choice.

  45. Very sad development.

Nsanda has stood by PF and Sata for 10 years now.

He did not have to ditch MMD but he did and now PF have ditched him.

This is what you get for supporting PF and Sata. He betrays all those who worked to put him at the top.

Now he is going to fall hard because his strongholds are no more.

You should have seen the MMD rally in Chibombo.
It was huge and people were flocking to see RB and Ronnie.

Then there was the Serenje one were the VP was greeted by another mamoth rally.

PF are finished in Central Province.

No wonder they are depending on injunctions to win. They know they have lost a lot of support.

PF’s Donchi Kubeba is working in reverse!
