File: Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata addressing a rally

PATRIOTIC Front president Michael Sata has outlined his vision for Southern Province promising to make maximum use of the vast land and water resources in the region.

Addressing a mass rally in Choma yesterday at Kings Centre grounds, Mr Sata told the cheering crowds that the neglect of the region will end next month when the PF takes power from the corrupt and incompetent Rupiah Banda administration.

Mr Sata said given the excellent location of Choma, the town was best suited to be the provincial capital but the MMD government has failed to make good use of this unique geographical position.

The PF leader said the town had also produced illustrious men and women that contributed immensely to Zambia’s freedom struggle. He paid tribute to Mr Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula, one of Zambia’s best known pioneers of the freedom struggle.

The PF leader has been on a campaign trail in Southern Province since Wednesday.

This afternoon, the PF leader will be addressing another rally in Livingstone to spell the PF vision for the tourist carpital.

  1. Mr Sata is good at promising people..but please do not give him ur vote..he is currently the worst choice among the candidates

  2. You should have done all that during your days in UNIP and more also your days in MMD when you were FTJ’s confidant.

I agree with you that the town had produced illustrious men and women who contributed immensely to Zambia’s political struggle only you forgot to mention that at the same time you were working with the colonial powers to marginalise and discriminate againist a people who were rightfully fighting for their own. What all genuine Zambians were fighting for you sort to nip by spying and aligning yourself with the whites. Shame on you.

  3. Already lost 2 parliamentary seats in Southern province for failing to come up with candidates in Chikankata and Monze constituencies with 10 more civic seats.

  4. Has already lost 2 parliamentary seats. in Southern province for failing to come up with candidates in Chikankata and Monze constituencies with 10 more civic seats.

  5. And when he holds the rally in Livingstone, he will promise that because of its strategic and tourism importance, he will keep it as the provincial capital! Sata man of the pipo!

  6. Him and his partner Roger Chongwe were Local Government Ministers what did they do for this province and indeed people of Zambia on development and devolution?

  7. Give praise where it is due fellow bloggers. The man has done what I can call issue based campaign and not always attacking each other on personal basis. VIVA SATA, VIVA PF, you have my vote. We know that most of the bloggers on LT today are blogging from State House in Lusaka, but that doesn’t meant you don’t have to give praise where its due. Go Chilufya, Go PF, Go Nalikwanda…..

  8. WE KNOW THAT PEOPLE LIKE SENIOR CITIZEN # 6,7 AND 9 ARE PAYED BY STATE HOUSE IN LUSAKA JUST TO BLOGG ON LT. AND LT FEEDS THESE CADRES WITH INFORMATION PRIOR TO AN ARTICLE BEING PUBLISHED SO THAT THEY COULD INFLUENCE THE BLOGGERSHIP BY SAYING NEGATIVE ABOUT THE OPPOSITION. WE NOW KNOW THE GIMMICK BEHIND THIS.

  9. SATA is a proven & tested leader who has achieved a lot in whatever capacity he has served the nation.
His own political party is also a living testament having transformed from a non-entity to the most vibrant and biggest opposition political party that has achieved national wide recognition/ membership and has mounted a vigorous and sustained campaigns to seriously MMD’s stranglehold to power.
He has a vision for meaningful and sustained development the whole country, unlike his opponent in MMD with a rap sheet of failures as long as your eyes can see.
No wonder Southern Province has warmed up to PF and has joined national calls for change to be delivered on 20 sept,2011.

    • Sata is a thief who stole with Kafupi. He failed to do the things that he is now promising, when he was in government for over 40 years. Don’t say that he couldn’t do those things because he was not president, for you don’t have to be president to do those things he promising. The things that you people praise him for are mediocre in comparison to the evils and coruption he has done in Zambia. Lets retire this old crook and bring in a new generation of leaders. Out of 10 million Zambians, are these old people, the only ones you can look for leadership from sure me bantu?

  10. Why the Post newspaper is not covering MCS on his southern province campaign tour? They failed to produce photos for the Monze rally. Sata was there in the colonial days, the UNIP days and was more influencial during the FTJ era, what else does he want? What kind of development can he bring at that age? Please give the young generation chance to bring new ideals to morden politics not rhetoric, we don’t feed on rhetoric. VIVA REAL CHANGE!!! Southern, Western and North-Western is a NO go area for Pa Fwaka. We are ready to retire all old madalas from contesting plot one come 9/20. Viva UPND the only real change. VIVA HH and the UPND team.
    >:d<

  11. We are indeed giving this devil serpentine a red card this year. He shall never get it. Imagine what would happen to certain species of wildlife if the deviltook over! Viva HH!!

  12. and tell us about RB in UNIP. YOU CLAIM THAT kk DID ALOT FOR THE NATION, IF YOU SAY HE DID, THEN THOSE HE WORKED WITH E.G. SATA HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE ACHIEVEMENTS ATTRIBUTED TO KK’S LEADERSHIP. BE OBJECTIVE AND DON’T ACT OUT OF HATRED OF TRIBE AND PERSON

  13. You tell people to do issue based campaigns and when Sata tells us what he wants to do you start insulting him!!! every leaders must have a plan for each part of Zambia which must be area specific not general goals

  14. ‘Sata outlines his vision for Southern Province’ where is the vision,…… i don’t see any vision, it is the same old stories that Sata makes.

And why does he want to change the provincial capital? being in the centre does not mean being a capital. Most countries have there capital in locations far from the centre.

    • #19, you want see a vision? iIt an individual thought(s), or imagination(s). You have to wait until it is put in reality so please vote for PF so that you see it.

    • Hahahahaha, sorry, even at gun point i would never vote for Sata. The man has no vision, he lacks even the basic understanding of economics

  15. PF shout the loudest but empty in substance. A check on the published list of PF adopted MPs candidates reveals that PF will enter the polls as the weakest compared to MMD and UPND. The analysis is as follows: PF has already lost outright in the following seats at provincial level: CENTRAL – lost of 8 out of 14; COPPERBELT – lost 4 out of 22; EASTERN – lost 16 out of 19; LUAPULA – lost 8 out of 14; NORTHERN – lost 8 out of 21; LUSAKA – lost 5 out of 12; NORTHWESTERN – lost all 12 seats; SOUTHERN – lost all seats; WESTERN – lost 10 out of 17 seats. The PF canthus only compete with other parties in 91 seats out of 150. Hence Sata’s & PF exhibition of frustration and jittery behaviour. End of Sata’s political carrier will mean restoration of sustained peace in Zambia.

  16. PF supporters should come out of their slumber and see things as they are.Prof.Nkandu Luo failed to feature on the Race To Manda Hill program

  17. Where is the vision? I don’t see that vision in his speech. If what is written here is the start and end of his vision outline, then God Help Us: he can’t articulae a vision for a province, what more for a country???? And by the way, what Zambia needs is a NATIONAL VISION, not visions based on tribal groupings. The problem with Sata is that in all his speeches wherever he goes, he can’t express himself without refering directly or indirectly to tribal sentiments – because he is a tribalist. To hell with him and his PF.

  18. senior citizen, use yo brains not your balls for once. how has sata lost 2 seats in SP already as if they were PF seats. failing to a candidate is loosing seats. MMD wont win those seats. pliz bloggers who is this irritating senior citizen, pliz help.

  19. But ba Sata babwebweta!
Is he going to be district commissioner in every town to make it into a city?
This is talk that should be coming from local MP candidates and councillors not the President. Mr Sata does not seem to differentiate between national and local leadership. It is like Obama going to a little dusty Iowa town and promising to make as big as New York if he became President!

  20. No wonder, people that didnt like SATA and PF now favour him or rate him above RB and anda 5 aka HH.This man is a threat, why each time he says something, people that belong to now visionless parties are falling over each other critising him. What i know is that when people talk about you,it means you are very important, a threat, brilliant, hardworking. people afraid of SATA are lazy.

  21. #4 a majority vote is not needed to win an election in zambia. rb won by a minority to take up the presidency, *****.

  22. February 1991,when every had crossed over and suported change.this cowered was still in unip.99th minute after seeing that indeed kaunda had reached a point of no return this serpent jumped ship and immediately uneashed verbal diarrhoea at kaunda.
He gave us all sorts of promises, we glorified our new found saviour and insulted kaunda to the core.enter into power this man forgot all his promises just spent timen political feuds hoping for chiluba to endorse him as heir apparent not knowing that the fellow dribbler had other ideas
out of frustrations and not principal this man forms his party and today that’s when he has seen that zambians are suffering, and after all these years this man as masqueraded as a leader,is it when he has developed a vision for zambia? ATASEEE!!!!!

  23. WHY SATA???? THEY KNOW THE KING HAS BECOME POPULAR AND HE JUST NEEDS A TOP UP OF VOTES FROM EASTERN, SOUTHERN….THATS THE END OF RB…LETS GO KING, LETS GO PF…MWAMUKOLO FELA….

  24. Sata is promising change at MICRcosmic level when he knows that it is not the duty of the President to collect garbage in the townships. It is not the duty of the President to preside over civic responsibilities. What will happen is exactly what RB has said in Kitwe. He will return to Choma one day and blame the UPND dominated council for failing to deliver. The difference between RB and Sata, is that Sata is lying when he promises things that only a council can do. What he should be doing is asking the people to vote for a PF MP and PF councillors and not just for HIMSELF.

  25. Michael Chilufya Sata is the biggest joke I’ve ever witnessed. Come Sep 20, PF will officially be thrown into the political garbage heap! RIP

  26. Northern Province: create Muchinga Province (capital yet to be announced), 2) Southern Province: move capital to Choma. It will not surprise to hear that for Western Province: Mongu town should be shifted to the banks of the Zambezi river and the Municipality Hq to be a floating boat, symbolizing pabwato. These and many other pronouncements to be implemented in 90 days. hahahahaahhhhhhhhh

    • Northern Province: It has always been the desire of the Province to split into two units.
Southern Province: Some departmental headquarters are in Choma for practicality.
the Problem with this site is that it is run from OOP. We even fear for our lives commenting on it. We like RB but his advisers are pathetic looking at their rebuts on Sata’s pronouncements. Please OOP, advise correctly. Period

  27. Is London at the centre of UK. is Washingtone centre of USA. Sata, these changes you are preaching about are what we don’t about you. Viva HH 2011

  28. 2011 FOR FRESHNESS!!! WE CANNOT CONTINUE CARRYING OVER THE SAME OLD POLITICIANS FROM ONE ELECTION YEAR TO ANOTHER. THERE ARE A LOT OF ZAMBIANS ON THE QEUE TO BECOME LEADERS.

  29. Nkandu Luo who is PF’s Munali candidate shunned Race To Manda Hill because she had nothing to say since the memories of her failure as Mandevu MP and Cabinet Minister are still fresh in the minds of not only the electorates but the contestants as well. Yesterday, another PF aspiring candidate Jean Kapata who is the immediate pas Mandevu MP failed to show up as well having done nothing during her 5 year mandate. For the Munali and Mandevu discussions,MMD’s Marjorie Mwape and Dr.Canicius Banda came out tops. Most if not ALL PF contestants lack merit but just want to use the perceived PF’s popularity. Please voters,be objective,do not vote for these PF failures.MMD has got the best candidates in the above mentioned constituents.Vote PF for stagnation as seen during the past 5 years

  30. Old age is an added disadvantage on all sata,s trips.Imagine we recalled all the 1937 old model vehicles and allow them to start pirating in any town, how many people can ride on them? perhaps just for fun we can go there to have a look.

  31. Senior Citizen, what is the meaning of losing? This is a case of word misuse. Simple logic tells us that you cannot lose when you have not competed.

  32. I dont get the relevance of this title. all he says is he’ll make use of land and resources how? be more specific! how is it going to create jobs and bring people out of POVERTY. He says he has a vision , why wasnt this vision implimented when he was in Chiluba’s MMD? He calls RB corrupt, wasnt he part of Chiluba’s MMD when he stole money. if zambia wants real change, all the older politicians who were attached to former corrupt governments should step aside for newer younger candidates maybe then there’ll be less talk and more action!

  33. @D thanks for missing a point, i bet this not the first time you have done it, no wonder you are a blind follower. woe to you all blind followers.

  34. When the comedy show ‘Zambia One’ is not in town, Sata is a good substitute. When you have nothing to do and you are looking for a pastime, look for Sata’s rallies!

  35. Sata of the UNIPist PF party! PF cadres what do you say about Guy Scott’s revelation that PF has a 1973 UNIPist constitution which they will only change in 2016? Unfortunately, Guy Scott also revealed the orginality of Mr Sata’s ideas, that constitution is a copy of the

  36. Sata of the UNIPist PF party! PF cadres what do you say about Guy Scott’s revelation that PF has a 1973 UNIPist constitution which they will only change in 2016? Unfortunately, Guy Scott inadvertently also revealed the originality of Mr Sata’s ideas, that constitution is a copy of the 1973 UNIP One Party Stae constitution word for word except for the ridiculous opening statement. No wonder Zambians have already decided what to do with the snake, they know enough about it from the Post archives, ask Mmembe!

  37. Mr HH, go back to Southern Province, the serpent has entered your yard, apparently your only stronghold. Am told the crowd which Sata addressed in Choma was unprecedented. This is eating into HH’s votes. The young man has dash back to the province to undue what the serpent has done.

  38. My man, my icon, my leader-Michael Chilufya Sata. Those morons who hate him will hang themselves when the legendary politician will be sworn in as Zambia’s 5th President next month. PF is winning, period. Ubuwelewele bwa MMD bwachilamo mu Zambia, we need a leader to bring back sanity and discipline.

  39. I live in the United Kingdom and looking what is happening on the ground Sata will carry the da.Zambia needs a man to help clean the bad system. There is high level of corruption and poverty in the land.I for one support Ba Sata.

  40. I am leaving for Zambia in two weeks to sail cast my precious vote for the boat. This year the boat has to sail to State House at all cost. I am sending HH to Mapanza to take care of the cattle and thats where he will be retired.

  41. Zambians what is wrong with having a vision for a province? MMD cadres please tell us what plan you have for Zambia. U have been in government for 20 years. Unip ruled for 27 and we can.point to many projects. Shame on you for destroying our country

  42. Thanks Sata for saying the truth. Zambia looks like a jungle, “a real Africa”! Sata are you going to make  Livingstone as good as Victoria falls town in beautiful Zim? If I were Zambian, I would give u my vote but I am  Zim born, so my vote is on my fellow Zimbo.

    • YOU CALL ZIM BEAUTIFUL? THATS NOT THE REPORTS I GET FROM ZIMBABWEANS LIVING IN LONDON. IT IS CERTAINLY NOT BEAUTIFUL. MOST TOURISTS ARE TOO SCARED TO GO TO ZIMBABWE. FROM WHAT I HEAR THE CURRENCY IS THE WORST IN THE WORLD!

  43. The concept of issue based politics is strange territory for Mr Sata, we should encourage him, maybe even get President Banda to coach him.

  44. Simply to put it. Its a VISION to retire after 20th Sept 2011. He has already raised K100m per head from his candidates contesting for seats.

  45. Good evening

I don’t really have much to say about this electoral campaign because it is hard to tell who is speaking the truth and who is just making empty promises in a presidential race.

Even the Bible says pleasant words are like honey (Proverbs 16:24) and every battle is with confused noise (Isaiah 9:5). A man is just a man, with his faults and flaws. And that is why Zambians should not just go all out to rally after one man but weigh each and every candidate and pray to God to give them the best leader for their country.

Have a blessed weekend dearest countrymen and women!

  46. NA NA NAFUTI NAFUTI!!!!!!! NA NA NA NAFUTI NAFUTI!!!!!!!!!!!!

NA NA NAFUTI NAFUTI!!!!!!! NA NA NA NAFUTI NAFUTI!!!!!!!!!!!!

    VOTE WISELY VOTE PA NKOOOOOOOOLOOOOOOOOOOKOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  47. Every time I see or hear Sata and Winter on TV or Radio I feel like changing the channel with a 12 bore shotgun, they are such fakes and sor lemons we just cannot afford to have miserable people as leaders

  48. No wonder Sata does not get any votes in Southern province because he does not know their values and aspirations. Southerners do not worry much in terms of where the provincial capital is situated, but they always need is just development, a leader who can articulate ways in which he is going to improve agriculture where farmers produce and are paid quickly, Vaccinations for their animals, how he can improve tourism in Livingstone, Siavonga, good road network for them to transport their produce etc. Any candidate who has no agenda on such issues just makes noise into their ears. Now I wonder what Sata is going to tell the people of Livingstone who are proud of the city a provincial capital. SP is different, putting Choma as provincial capital, other towns beyond would be neglected.

  49. Sata should know what to say to people and not just yapping as if he is from the sleep, no wonder in 1993 he recomended to his boss Chiluba to strip off the Litunga’s powers as the King of the Lozi people. Southerners value who they are without anyone to dictator or speak for them. This mentality of Sata and the Chiluba regime of imposing things on people is so dangerous, and we will make sure Sata does not get any votes from these areas. If you have nothing to say as a candidate, just be silent and many who have wisdom can appreciate your silence.

  50. Well said kunta kinte. I see no vision too! his speeches are always like that. no substance! thats why he failes to convert huge rallies to winning votes. he is pf’s biggest liability. he always forgets that people have staked their money on him. he is content with people laughing. proven leader my foot! He is only a proven leader in the minds of bemba tribalists!

  51. This man is really a joker, does it mean he has no advisors? Anyway he is a dictator like Ghadafi who thinks he is the only right one. Some of his supporters have also stopped thinking as he is the only one doing the thinking for them. If we can be having such leader as zambians, where are are really going. Think twice this year is for HH as he is the only who can develop zambia. Expecting development from Banda a man who colapsed NAMBOARD, and Sata as man who was part of a regime as number 3 and Chief advisor in plundering the economy from 1991 to 2001, is like expecting a horse to cook nshima for you.

  52. Mwanawasa resigned as repulican Vive President in 1994 because of the stinking corruption of Sata. This is the worst corrupt man ever. He was even charging for anyone to stand as MP on PF. He ordered the assult of a former driver and even ordered that the driver be brought before him. Imagine how he would abuse power? SATA will never rule.

  53. Sata promises everything to everyone. Sata claims he will make all our best dreams come true. How? He doesn’t say! Yet some muppets believe him and call him man of action! To me Sata is a man of fantasies/delusions!

    • kaili it falls in line with that *****ic ‘Donchi Kubeba’ chant of theirs. They come into power, Budget time comes and u want to know how they intend to spend the money it will be ‘Shhh, Donchi Kubeba’

  54. Free commedy cmes to southern province. Kuuya fye naiwe watamba ko kabili ba Zambia commedy 1 are delaying. Free commedy ku villa ground bane. We r to get real issues when HH gets to lstone

  55. Sata has some bright ideas to develop southern province. Give him a chance to win. You and me know that HH cant win. HH has messed up. Dont waste your vote give it to Sata. I now support Sata. Sata should some independents in this cabinet.

  56. Sata wherever he goes violence of Chawama matchetes follow him, did you hear his security men broke someone’s jaw in Monze, shame on people who believe in him.

  57. Sata is winning these year’s elections by a very wide margin whether you love or hate him. Remember RB and William Banda both went down with UNIP in 1991. Similarly, they are going down with MMD this year. History will repeat itself as RB has a track record of failure. Remember, as LSK governor, Namboard, Bank Chairman, marriage, his farm etc.

  58. Here comes the in-coming presido of Zambia, His Excellence Michael Chilufya Sata Bachelor of Arts History (Distinction) & Bachelor of Science Geography (Merit). This is the character of a president Zambia desparately needs. pa Bwaaaatooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo…..!!!

  59. This is Sata’ year. He is defenitely winning these elections. We shall ensure we closely monitor the election so that the thugs do not attempt to rig.

  60. Wake up fellow Zambians and say NO to one party dominance, for how long are we going to be ruled by one party? Don’t we have other capable Zambians? Zambia this is a issue of natioanal interest lets all speak one language.

  61. Mabvuto- Sata is so popular that he has sent shivers in all camps and people( thieves) wish him bad lack but the fact is he will clean up the mess once in power. Dont waste your vote, vote sata for prosperity and discipline.
