President Michael Sata Friday morning sent back nominated Member of Parliament Panji Kaunda from the Swearing in Ceremony at State House because he was improperly dressed.

President Sata told cabinet Ministers and deputies who were being sworn in that he had told Colonel Kaunda to go back and wear a suit.

Colonel Kaunda who is defence deputy minister showed up at State House where he was due to be sworn in, wearing a short and a T-shirt.

He later returned wearing a black stripped suit and joined the swearing in ceremony midway.

  1. Awe kwena ba Panji, you just had to provide some comedic relief to the situation. You are no longer an ordinary farmer from Eastern Province, you have now become an Honorable and should be seen to reflect this honor bestowed on you not only in deeds but in the way you dress as well. There are protocols and standards to be followed baba and you need to get with the program. Other than that, I am really happy that you are part of the Cabinet, you strike me as a man of integrity and reason and MCS needs to surround himself with people of your calibre sir. May I suggest that you now update your wardrobe to conform with the expectations of your office. Thank you very much sir!

    • This i luv! Thanks for saying it from the heart. Ati shorts and t-shirts kekekekek ni donchi kubeba zoona!! Lolest!!

  2. He woke up thinking his dad was still the republican president. He grew up in that house – deja vu perhaps.

  3. The protocol officers sent back Panji to wear a suit and Sata only made a joke about it when Panji was being sworn in i.e where is the Panji i saw in a kabudula!

  4. This reminds me of the crocodile hunter, when he turned up in a khakie short and shirt at an award ceremony to receive an award for his crocodile hunter programme. He was also sent back for being improperly dressed!!

    • You **** do not appreciate anything! You and your tribal party are the worst clowns we have ever had in this country. Now you will marry the MMD your fellow finished party! Since you took over Southern province no development has ever been recorded!

  5. Sata is the wisest president so far. He has reconciled with the Kaundas UNIP, and named hospital and stadium after MMD’s mwanawasa.

  6. Chisha, forgive Panji. The last time he dressed proper was 20yrs ago. All he knows is torment from MMD. So he has forgotten about dressing for such occasions.

  7. Nice one, Cobra at Work:::: Ba Mudala, you would have phoned us to ask the dress code. Well Done Mr. President as you did not set any precedent. This is an important ceremony therefore it should be formal Dressing.

    Lesson leant Colonel

  8. hahahaha that’s funny

+1 kent father kaunda would have put his son in place , maybe he got some lashings at home for being a naughty

  9. THAT WAS COMEDY OF THE YEAR. HOW CAN EX ARMY OFFICER LIKE PANJI BEHAVE IN A MANNER. HE KNOWS THE DRESS CODE WHEN MINISTERS AND OTHER SENIOR GOVT OFFICIALS ARE BEING SWORN IN. I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT HE WAS INSPECTING A GUARD OF HONOR DRESSED IN KAPUTULA. OR MAY BE HE IS STILL SUFFERING FROM CAMPAIGN HANGOVER. THIS GUY SHOULD BE WATCHED HE MAY END UP REINTRODUCING MAKAPUTULA FOR NCO’S IN THE DEFENCE FORCES.AS FOR BROTHER GBM I HOPE HE WONT MAKE HIMSELF SOLE SUPPLOER OF MEALI MEAL FOR SERVICE PERSONNEL TO RECOVER THE MONEY HE PUMPED INTO THE PF CAMPAIGN MACHINERY.

  10. He should have been fired immediaetely. There is no comedy in such serios business especaially that he is a son of a former president and a commissioned army officer who knows what to wear, when and where.

  11. What is appropriate dress? I could imagine that if this had happened in the west, it would have been a point of debate by all. What is appropriate dress? Who determines what is appropriate. My great grandfather would have come dressed up and proudly in his leather skirt and breast ephod with a peacock feather on his head and leather sandals. In his hand he would have proudly displayed a short handled mkhondo (spear) that had drunk many a litre of enemy blood, in the other hand a shield and ‘ e nduku’ (knobkerry). ‘Bayete Nkhosi!’

  12. Panji has been in poverty for a long long time he didnt have a suit he had to go and borrow one for him to be sworn in he doesnt even own a vehicle as it is..but being MP he can now get one thats hwy he was so angry with the MMD…..He knows what it means to be rich one day and poor another…

  13. Panji does not take SATA as a serious man, and I bear with him.
Panji thought it was the usual commedy they have always done with SATA.
In fact even SATA himself is just like the late Maximo, bikiloni, difikoti and all others of his type.
You have to keep remiding yourself every morning that he is actually the head of state, and that is what Panji forgot to do.
I personally cant blame him for that slip of the clothes (or is it slip of the tongue).

    • hahaha..very funny!! actually for me, i still find it hard to believe that he is president..his EXCELLENCY..lol..anyway, i like the man!

  14. This is what we what has Zambians, a leader who can change things, a leader with strong facts, a leader who can say right things and a right time and all i am asking is that let’s us all know that even great leaders make mistakes it’s Normal.. so well do MR P MCS for sending Panji for what is right others wouldn’t have the powers to do what you did! may the good Lord bless you in everything you do thank you…

  15. This is what we want has Zambians, a leader who can change things, a leader with strong facts, a leader who can say right things and a right time and all i am asking is that let us all know that even great leaders make mistakes, it’s Normal.. so well done MR P MCS for sending Panji back for what is right others wouldn’t have the powers to do what you did! may the good Lord bless you in everything you do thank you…

  16. With time, majority of Zambians whill feel the 2011 election loss of MMD.
For now they are still busy with celebrations of SATA’s victory.

    • you are very right, lol.I also celebrated Sata’s victory, knowing too well that Sata’s victory meant no civil war in our country.Sata will ruin our country, whether we like it or not.he is an economic illiterate.he has already appointed 50% relatives and friends in sensitive ministrial potifolios and ignorant PF cadres are not worried.anyway, why should they worry?ma fontini,ba kalya amani.ba jerabo.they’ll regret.STUPIT *****S!!!

  17. LOL. Seriously/!!!!!! You must be kidding me! Wow. Lets hope he does not approach his duties so nonchalantly. lol, I can not stop laughing. Reminds me of an old time politician called ” KA DANCER”!!! lol maaaannnn!!!!!!!

  18. If think its high time we closed the Lusaka play house seing that there is more comedy at State House.

  19. Ha! This one has tickled me big time. Clad in shorts & T-shirt mu State House ka? Does’nt he have any advisors (a man’s best advisor is his wife)? Anyways, to err is human and I like the lightness with which bloggers have taken it.

  20. Today, for your info, the most dissapointed citizens in America after 2008 elections are the black (african) americans.
The reason is very simple; they over trusted and over-expeted from Obama, yet they have met with the worst economic hostility of their time.
MMD supporters and reservists who dont expect much from SATA’s leadership have their hearts well guarded.
I pity the street boys and the youths and their Kaponya (both educated and uneducated) group of individuals who see SATA as a saviour.
Because these groups will forget to use their nice English accents, and begin to cry in proverbial venacular.

    • Be informed that the bad conditions of service that MMD tolarated are being revisited and some employers have already increased workers salaries and bought protective cloths for their workers before the Government’s cough. Where will this money go? If you don’t know in the Kaponya’s pockets who do the vending in Zambia, instead of one person who was being bribed to sit on workers slaries and conditions of service. It seems you are still living in the past not to know that the corrupt MMD is gone, see the number of MMD members who have ditched you and have joined PF after elections.

    • Fine am with you, I have already seem youths on ZPP who are now crying foul that there isnt any youth representation in Cabinet.Even this dull chap who went in shorts for swearing in ceremony totally forgot to say there was such an important occassion. These are suppose to be at farms enjoying bumper harvests..The whole of the appointments is lacking merits as most of the positions have been given to relatives and is mostly marginalised on tribal lines.Wait till we start crying..
I quote what i told someone..”R.B crid becoz this country has gone to the worst.

  21. LOL! I love Sata more and more everyday! LOL! HIs charisma and leadership style is what we needed to get thins rolling…people in Zed have been way to relaxed. Get on them big boss! Demand reports, investigations, proper conduct etc! Way to go! GREAT kick off so far.

  22. GOOD JOB H.E SATA………………….EVEN THE MOST POWERFUL MAN IN THE WORLD PRESIDENT OBAMA WAS CONDEMED FOR NOT WEARING A SUIT ON HIS FIRST DAY IN THE OVAL OFFICE…………..WAY TO GO. NO NOSENCE MAN.

  23. Bati kwena, the whole Colonel in kaputula!! I don’t think he’s ready for work. In the words of FTJ “common guys”

  24. Col i have to learn from on how you develop the love for the powe from chilhooh and yet yoor fater was a president. You are a man,you told us Stata will rule Zambia.I know your words are your deeds plaese help to chage the face of the defence force,so that we look like people of zambia.Youth servince should come.I know you and GBM are friends and it will work out.

  25. And i thought he said he was not in it for any position, he has reneged on what he said. So, he needed a job after all! Who was fooling who?

  26. italian bunga bunga (Original) No 1 what do you mean ba banda would not have bothered? First of all Banda would not even appoint a lunatic and bankrupt person like panji

  27. No pipo col panji had campign HO. After criss crossing the zed in shorts . That was his style to draw attetion that its the real him: Thats my man watch him, he will be working with folded seleeves> Its time 4 work col campng is over job well done . Shame HH 4 not listening 2 u goodluck col:

  28. Now you know who is boss!!! They should watch this Panji – he has a powerful ministry, armed department.
I do not trust him. He appears rude and disorderly.
Let him go back and sell salaula he introduced it in Zambia didn’t he, and he could find a suit to wear from that bulk?

  29. Government ya ba Kaponya.ama comedians.Panji in Big Shorts deputy minister of Defence under Jerabo GBM the Wife Batterer.and stupid PF cadres joke about it.the Cobra the Dictator sends him back instead of firing him.and you call that tough.UNTAMED ZAMBIA.

  30. It shows the calibre of PF govt, in the first place Panji does not qualify to be mp, he was declared bankrupt by the courts of law. according to the zambian constitution, he cannot be mp. Its only the PF govt which ignores the highest laws of the land who can apport him

  31. Thandiwe did enough travel and shopping all over the world. What is she going to do with all those designer clothes in Chipata??

  32. Colonel ….?? What kind of Colonel dresses like a Kaponya to a ceremony where he is getting annointed with good job..??

  33. WE THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA HAVE SPOKEN, AND WE HAVE PUT THE GOVT THAT WE WANTED. SO NGAMULI BA UPND OR MMD JUST EMBARK ON REOGANISING YOUR PARTIES FOR 2016. IN ANY CASE WE GEARING OURSELVES FOR NAREP TO FORM GOVT IN 2021.

  34. Poor HH no matter how hard you going to day dream, you surely not going to rule Zambia. By now you should have been the VP with 40% of ministers coming from you UPND. I supposed even your perceived family tree would int have been a factor. You sold the PACT for a 30 pieces of silver from RB. Where is RB now? Eventually Sata is coming for you for participating in the plunder of our resources. We know you were bribed just to destroy the pact and now you crying for spill milk. I tell you its NAREP in 2021. Just GO BACK to your farm in southern province.

  35. iyo kwena this is comedy pa zed da whole lot of a colonel dressing up in shorts for such an important event. hope he will work to our expectatins.

  36. I used to be suggested this blog by means of my cousin. I am now not positive whether or not this put up is written by way of him as no one else know such targeted about my problem. You’re amazing! Thank you!

  37. Panji, – shorts and T shirts were great when you played basketball with the Army and I played & coached Kabwe Cats. They were great times, and I realize as we age these events become of lesser importance to us, but as we grow older pomp and ceremonies sometimes becomes less important to us Mr. Deputy Minister of Defense.
