Welterweight prospect Hastings Bwalya failed to impress against Manny Pacquiao in a sparring session in Los Angeles on Friday.
Pacquiao was using the sparring session as part of preparations for his Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico on November 12 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
According to Philboxing.com, the Las Vegas based Zambian boxer who came highly recommended by Pacquiao’s cutman didn’t back his talk with prowess in the ring against the WBO welterweight champion.
“Showing impeccable footwork and a blinding hand speed, Pacquiao showed Bwalya a thing or two about humility and compassion, instead of exchanging in a heated war of words,” Philboxing said.
Pacquiao blooded Bwalya’s nose and mouth in the process.
The WBO champion then changed sparring partners before Bwalya returned in the 7th and 8th but still failed to step up to the plate.
Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach said he would give Bwalya another chance against future Hall of Famer on Saturday.
Get him outta there before he gets killed.

Cocky mofo thinks he’s the ish at 7-0. I don’t mind seeing confidence in a fighter but when you have nothing to boast about and you still run your mouth, no one feels sorry if you sptting blood out of it.
This is definitely a mismatch. Let him not go back in that ring before he mukuni’s in there! It would be good if our younger boxers could have an opportunity to WATCH such world class fighters in training. That is good enough experience to start, then you can start slowly introducing them to opponents with such devastating class,power and speed. Nshima was not enough to keep him standing or was it the lack of. LOL

I think you guys are missing Umwana Bucheli’s point. His suggestion is that one should view this information with a critical mind, because of its source. That is a mark of intellect. When you read something, its good to ask yourself why someone would say something in a certain way (in this case to continue promoting their national hero). In regard to ‘Those philipino (sic) think Pacman is god’, its not in reference to religion but rather to the fact that he is so highly regarded by almost everyone in his country. The choice of words was not great but the gist of Umwana Bucheli’s comment was really that we should read the story within context.

It is a Zambian Achievement to spar with Mann Paciao the Pac man. But if he was bloodied, why did they push him back into the ring. Bwalya should have made an impact so that promoters who were there or their agents could have recommeded him highly. Next time he should avoid a beating even if it;s a sparring session. u senseless *****s it was sparring not a real fight, and bwalya has sparred with the likes of mayweather before, this only means he’s got potential..just to get into the ring with pacman is no mean achievement give credit where its due even if he was bloodied.
