Latest investigations into pupils’ pregnancies at Mongu’s Limulunga High Schools have revealed that eighteen girls were impregnated last year contrary to the 30 initially reported.

Western Province Education Officer, Muyangwa Kamutumwa has clarified the matter after instituting investigations following a disclosure by Luena Member of Parliament Mulumei Imenda.

Mr Kamutemwa says only one police officer was linked to the pregnancy of a grade ten girl.

He told ZNBC in Mongu on Thursday that the rest of the girls were impregnated by men from various communities within Mongu and beyond.

Mr Kamutumwa says the pregnant girls were allowed to proceed on maternity leave in line with the education policy.

He attributed the increase in girls pregnancy cases to pupils’ staying on their own in rented huts due to lack of boarding facilities at learning institutions.

Recently, Ms Imenda told Parliament that thirty pupils were impregnated by Police Officers who were camped at Limulunga High School during the January 2011 Mongu riots.

  1. So, arrest and charge that police officer with defilement if the grade 10 kid is below 16 or with rape if it wasnt consensual.

  2. So why did they want to implicate the police officers. Our parliamentarians are so dull they speak without facts en they dnt even how to debate!

  3. So these chaps were trying to implicate all those innocent cops for political mileage. They should have investigated who was responsible first before going to parliament to peddle lies there.

  4. “Recently, Ms Imenda told Parliament that thirty pupils were impregnated by Police Officers who were camped at Limulunga High School during the January 2011 Mongu riots.[ZNBC]” end of quote.

Where did honourable Imenda get that info? Why did she rush to parliament without verifying the facts?WHY didn’t she phone the Headmaster in the first place? Will she go back and apologise to the speaker?

  5. The truth always travels slowly but it surely arrives and sets everybody free.Sakeni has been vindicated, that was not the first operation police have undertaken in this country,i kept wondering as to what was so special about those school girls that police can seem to have gone on rampage. Its surely impossible to have girls who can t just say No.

  6. Beats me why the number iz so much of an issue here. Doez it matter if it waz only two girlz or indeed the entire school impregnanted? It iz shamefull that we are buzzy worrying about figurez instead of the actual crime committed and getting the law to vizit the culprits.

  11. Who does not know that Lozi women have loose morals? Gentlemen, these Lozi women are a bonus gift from God for us men to use as we like. A Lozi woman, married or not will sleep with anything with a stiff muscle. Who is surprised?

  12. This is Barotse Population policy..even pupils must contribute to population growth in barotseland so that the lozis can enough child solders to fight the zambia army in 2090.

  13. Zambia open is never played by policemen, these are just the ones who never used condoms, what about those who didn t get pregnant but had sex or always have it,there must be a lot of leg openings in the west, must be the new Zambia open tournament going on.

  14. It does’nt matter whether its 10,20 or what, but who did it.Sakeni should’nt have defended the act and down size the number. He should’ve verified the info.I’ve never seen a tribe categorised as hules just like I dont believe some tribes are thieves.Maybe its true.I cant judge

  15. ‘What do we do about this issue sir?’

‘Same thing we did with the others.’

    ‘Shove it under the carpet?’

‘No stick it online and wait for the stinking comments to drown out the issue.’

‘Very good sir. Shall I edit it?’

‘Why bother? Fact and fiction are already blurred. Run it as it is.’

    ‘And deniability sir?’

‘It wasn’t me. Hee hee. Young chaps know what I mean, eh?’

‘…but sir we leave ourselves open to attacks of irresponsibility…’

‘So was it you? Okay you’re fired kanshi. Problem solved. Someone get me a new assistant white washer and sacrificial cow!’

  16. instead of using their energy to teach their children to learn to say no to “dobwe”,they want to waste it on BRA.next yu will hear that the soldiers have impregnated 102 minors,Lozis are becoming unproductive!!!!!!!

  17. the work of a dull zambian politician again, gaining maileage on nothing. i wish i was one of these police officers who was there, this mp could have regreted his diarhea mouth. some of these guys are married does he know the comfusion he has brought to these innocent police officers homes? shame to those who voted for this dull MP.

  18. @peg says you can not compare that educated MP with your la la la la.dont worry she is withdrawing from your zambian parliament.all our MPs will be back in barotseland within 30 days.

  19. This has nothing to do with Western Province. It has to do with the general pathetic lacunae in addressing the needs of the youth – whether they are in school or not. Why have boarders gone to the extent of renting huts? Teenage pregnancies are rife in all provinces of Zambia. In my opinion, it has to do with the reckless liberalisation of everything under the sun in Zambia without providing any social cushion for the vulnerable. Its everyone for themselves. Even rich western countries that pursue selfish capitalist systems still have measures that mitigate the harsh economic climate for the poor. Zambia did away with a lot of subsidies – but where is the money saved going? In the pockets of so-called investors and conniving local politicians. In the meantime state schools are run down7.

  20. Does anyone out there realise that sex is a need for both women and men? Should it now be bad when a woman is pregnant…and a man a criminal?

  21. I ran into this particular web site maesiktnly, extremely, this really is an excellent website.
