Former Finance Minister Ng’andu Magande has advised the Zambian government to instill confidence on the challenges facing the economy.

Mr. Magande said that there was need for the Zambian government to assure the Zambian business community that the economy will be brought under control.

In recent weeks, stakeholders have expressed concern on the performance of the country’s economy particularly citing the depreciation of the Kwacha.

Some stakeholders allege what they term as inconsistent policies of the patriotic front as reasons of the negative performance of the Patriotic Front.

But Mr. Magande said that uncertainty will be created among the local and international investors as a result of lack of long term assurance from the government top leadership

And Former Communications and Transport deputy minister Alfred Ndhlovu said that the Patriotic Front government has a challenge to create two million jobs if the economy is to employ.

Mr. Ndhlovu said that he may have the solution on how the country’s economy can be built but stated that he can not give any advice to the PF government because it does not show the willingness to learn from the opposition.

And when asked if he would take up an offered position in the PF government, Mr. Ndhlovu said that he would first consult with his family friends and his party, the opposition movement for multi-party democracy (MMD).

He stated that he does not see appointments in the PF government as a gain because people relieved off their duties are disadvantaged due to the unavailability of jobs in the country.

In an interview with QFM, Mr. Ndhlovu says the people of Zambia must learn to differentiate between mere campaign promises and genuine developmental promises made by their leaders.

  1. Mr. Former minister why didnt you create 2million jobs when u were in office..? u claim u have the know how..really..? why didnt u advise ur RB hence u would have created the 2million jobs..please nigga shut up..Mr. Magande we have enough of ur criticism how about u help us by advising wouldnt that help…? we need solutions not criticism coz there’s no such thing as constructive criticism…

    • Mr. Kudya learn to read and understand before displaying you ignorance. Where is Magande quoted talking about jobs.

  2. Kudya Nkusheta, why are you working hard at refusing to hear a voice of reason. Hate the game, not the player.

  3. Magande always talks some sense. Pf listen to this man and he would lead you the right way. Don’t forget that he managed to bring the dollar down to K3200. instead of you opposing his views, ask him how best it could be done . # 2 you are fake boy..

  4. Zambians let us learn to accept that somebody is good when they are good. Magande did exceptionally well under the Mwanawasa regime not until he was relieved of his duties by the selfish RB. You would agree with me that even now we are still feeling the good feel effects though they are rapidly dwindling into the bad feel effects. The traits of a bad leader are not manifest if he follows a good leader. But let a bad leader follow another bad leader..its catastrophe. Wait for this term to finish. Unless the PF regime heed the advice it is being given, you wil regret not to have been born in Zambia.

  5. Mapenzi being led by the PF govt. Kibutata. There are more problems of unemployment in the PF govt than the MMD. PF promised heaven on earth yet they knew that they would not create job opportunities for the many unemployed youths. More money in the pocket slogan was misunderstood by the PF youths who thought that even when someone is idle would still get more money in his/her pocket.

  6. Mr. P.N. Magande is good in that area. He can be of good use to our country like he was before. You can not put him on the same scale with OLD and Outdated Alexander.

  7. Good afternoon

Well, everyone will always have their own explanation of why the economy is not performing and what needs to be done about it and how best to do it but I think the most important thing is for those in control to keep their heads above the water.

While people are firing criticism, a bonafide government will demonstrate professionalism by putting things into perspective and working harder to achieve it’s goals. The taste of the pudding is always in the eating.

  8. These asssholes were in government. Why should they be experts today? All I remember about MMD is arrogance by Kunda, prostitution by Dora, arrogance from RB and then thieving and thieving. We are giving PF a chance to do there thing also.

  9. Magande has a point that need be noted seriously. Its what other people see you doing that can matter very much. We reflect ourselves in the society. PF should take advise from Magande, for it is a wise one. I do not take kindly Former Communications and Transport deputy minister Alfred Ndhlovu’s remark that he knows what we need do but he can not give advice. What a former Minister! When do you think Zambia will develop? Is it only when you are in government? Your contribution is far less reasonable. You better not even tell us that reasoning because it stinks to all those who want Zambia develop under whichever ruling party’s government. Better go to the village an tell the villagers the same. For sure they too will opt not listen to you..

  10. I like Magande, I like his background. Magande your mathematics qualifications serves you very well. I always wanted you to be in government even now under PF. You have good reasoning. Please PF get brains like this one. Give Magande a job, he can serve us well, just as he did under Mwanawasa. I am a learner of Mathematics and its learning and I tell you there is reasoning rather than feelings or instincts. With reasoning you can achieve more rather than with feelings or instincts. Involve Magande anywhere you may deem right if he agrees. He is a good fellow and means well for Zambia.

  11. @2 kudya nkusheta

You people must learn to read first before rushing to write rubbish about people. It is the Former Communications and Transport deputy minister Alfred Ndhlovu who said that the Patriotic
Front government has a challenge to create two million jobs if the economy is to grow and not the former finance minister Go back to the article and read, you *****.

  12. To hell with corrupt Chikwanda and his Appolo or Mapol Company which is used to plunder state house. Manje manje mapaolo azavimbil athu. Muzachiona, Ukwa has already started off to Mwlule, takuya babwela. Bingu naya kale, mugabe almost reaching

  13. All Mr. Magande is talking about here is assurances from the top brass; some chaps talk sense when they are out of the job as they have too much time on their hands (with exception of ka sillyboy HH.)

  14. LETS TALK SENSE NOW
THIS IS WHAT BEMBAS DO,SO THEY ARE aFRAID THAT PEOPLE IL BE ALERT AND THEY WILL NOT HAVE CHANCE TO CATCH THE POOR CHILDREN.THIS IS INSANE.PIPO GUIDE YOUR CHILDREN BEFORE THEY ARE STOLEN BY THESE SELFISH BABOONSNAIWE LUSAKA TIMES U SHOULD WATCH THIS MOVE AND THIS IS TRUE

Can some be on alert to make sure that Chitimukulu is buried alone coz traditionally bemba chiefs are buried with their legs lying on a body of a dead boy while the head rest in the hands of virgin girl. The girl is buried alive. These demonic and primitive practices have always been done with the full knowledge of pastors and the government.

  15. What a stinker!! A former minister who claims to know how to create jobs he never created when he and his party were in power! He should be ashamed for even making that bogus claim.

  16. Mr. Magande, you talk to people who only can’t take advice but also have no clue what to do. Let them wallow in their pride kaili baleteka. Ndipo bakaponya balituletelela.

  17. Mr Magande is right. Unfortunately the PF kaponyas have no capacity to comprehend what the former Minister of Finance is saying. As for that Ndhlovu guy people should not take him seriously because, clearly, he is a joke. He thinks every issue is a joking matter because his mbuyas are in power. One wonders how such a clown was made a minister. I remember now, it was during the wako ni wako era of one tribalist from the east. Now we have another one from the north. What a pity!

  18. I am sure everyone who thought the PF will bring any good in this country was just foolish, the prob is that people only looked at change and not the after effects, look at what has happened to the Kwacha, Sata’s Government is a Joke

  19. PF is disastrous, in mines some contractors(500) have lost their jobs. no single job will be created this year because there is no such plan on the PF agenda. levy junction mall under RB has created jobs yet sata condemned the idea. zamtel lost billions from the time gov took over, soon workers will start going without salaries.they promised economic zones in each district yet they are saying they will creat jobs using the MMD’s economic zones………

  20. PF has the credentials to inspire confidence in the the Zambia economy. In Zambia, most of the aspects that drive economic growth are either very weak or not in place. Zambians should brace themselves for difficult economic times ahead.

  22. It is just amazing that you all had a chance to elect great leaders but you choose to elect a buffoon and the kkk to lead the country. One does not have a clue and the other has no love for black people. You all are getting what you deserves… 25 more jobs will be lost next month as I am closing my business in Lusaka because this government seems to think that business can be run without profits, where then should the money come from to pay the workers and you 80% import tax and 3% sales tax on durable goods????
People of Zambia; brace yourselves because it will get much worse before it gets better. And for all you haters, though you may not be in Zambia, your people will suffer under this government and the effect will be felt for generations…
