MMD will never rule this country again, President Sata has said. Addressing a campaign rally at Chibale Basic School grounds in Serenje yesterday, President Sata said just like UNIP has failed to bounce back in Government, MMD will also fail.

“For now we are the ones presiding over the affairs of the nation whether they like it or not. They will never rule this country again,” he said. President Sata said the MMD failed to deliver development in the country.

Mr Sata was in Muchinga constituency to drum up support for Patriotic Front (PF) candidate Jeliaty Ntembwa ahead of the by-election set for this Thursday. He appealed to the electorate in the constituency to vote for the PF candidate because he hails from the area and has a house there.

“Ntembwa is a son of this soil and he understands the problems you go through. He even owns a house here while these two others live in Lusaka,” President Sata said. The President said MMD candidate Howard Kunda should not cheat the people that he will develop the area like his father [George Kunda] did because he has no capacity.

“Mr Kunda was our Vice-President and that is why he developed this constituency. Howard, my son, has no strength to develop this area,” he said. Mr Sata said Howard and National Restoration Party (NAREP) candidate Kenneth Ngosa do not own houses in the constituency.

“Ask Howard where he is working. He does not even have a house in this constituency. You should not allow him to use you to get a job,” Mr Sata said. He said it is traditionally wrong for the MMD candidate to attempt to inherit his father’s seat.

President Sata earlier paid a courtesy call on Chief Chisomo where he promised to improve the staffing levels at a health centre and schools. Mr Sata also said the road network in the chiefdom will be improved.

He told the gathering that was waiting for him at Chisomo Basic School to vote for the PF candidate. President Sata later paid a courtesy call on Chief Chibale before addressing a rally at Serenje Basic School.

President Sata further advised the candidate to seek leadership knowledge from traditional leaders. He advised Mr Ntembwa: “When I came here, I took you to Chief Chisomo, Chief Chibale and Chief Serenje because if you have to be a good leader, first learn from the leadership given by God.”

And President Sata met all the four chiefs in Serenje district. These are Chief Chisomo, Chief Chibale, Chief Serenje and Chief Mailo. Chief Mailo appealed to the President to address chiefdom, district and provincial boundary disputes.

He said he has boundary disputes with Northern, Muchinga and some chiefs in Serenje. The traditional leader also appealed for rehabilitation of roads in the area and complained about a contractor who was working on a bridge but abandoned the project.

Chief Mailo called for electrification of schools and clinics in the chiefdom saying the chiefdom generates power but it goes to other areas. He also urged Government to consider increasing the floor price of maize from K65, 000 to K70,000.

Chief Mailo commended President Sata for his work since he assumed office.

  1. Mr Sata never say never….check what has happened in Mexico, and Egypt. They said the former ruling party in Mexico would never rule again, and the Brotherhood would never rule in Egypt.

    • That’s even going far, just remind him of what MMD use to say about his PF….never say never!

  2. dullness in zambia will never end….God why did u give us SATA? If you really esist God take away SATA from us…or let him Die so that we can hv fresh by election.. zambian thinking is worring
    thanks

    • Zambians always do the opposite.God disqualified Sata on three Occaisions but the people insisted on him and so GOD granted the people their wish. All the former heads of state had no kind words about Sata becoming President and had warned Zambians against it.Kindly note that at any given time the choice of a leader reflects the character of the people of that nation.

    • God must be a very busy chap so he was also involved in elections in Egypt, will he be at the forthcoming elections in Libya?

  3. BWANA CHIBWE NO PLAN,,TALK ABOUT DEVELOPMENTAL STORIES AND REAL ISSUES..WE ARE JUST HEARING ABOUT SAME STORIES…U WILL GO EARLY THAN THE WAY U CAME INTO POWER..

  4. Maybe I’m being too critical of our president Michael Sata BUT PLEASE can his advisors try and teach him to be consistent in his messages and act mature and presidential, not these nonsensical statements he keeps dishing out to electorates who are now much cleverer than he is. On one hand he says, George Kunda actually delivered development to the area, on the other hand he says MMD did nothing in its period in power…MMD which he was actually part of all along until recently. The truth is people can now see through his lies and inconsistencies. LASTLY, it is not Sata to tell us who we are going to put into State House next. He should not overrate his influence on Zambia, especially after looking at his own performance record over the past 9/10 months.

  5. Your Exellence sir, you were part & parcel of mmd so dont hide from the problems we are facing today you also contributed, you should thank God who gave the presidendce otherwise you are not the best.give job to the youth otherwise they will not vote for you.with love

  6. Ni CHIMBWI NO PLAN for sure check at the increase on the maize price..but mudaala uyu NIMATUVI sure K5pin sure ncumba iwe.

  7. Political graph 2011-2016 according to blogs on LT suggests popularity of Sata and PF is ever decreasing. On the contrary that of MMD has stabilised with potential to increase now that teh Party presidency is sorted and PF govt’s accusations on RB have proved to be false and malicious only.

So unless Sata and PF deliver on campaign promises, they will get much fewer votes at 2016 than they did at 2011. Further, with the 50+1 pass mark coming, UPND voters may team with MMD voters at 2016. So MMD is likely to bounce back, with HH in the camp. Or MMD alone, depending on how PF performs between 2011 and 2016.

    • Zambians are clever people…They are not dull anymore. MMD is gone forever and lets not talk about it now. On thing you should know is that all the MMD members of parliament are not happy that Nevers is President. Wait and see how they will be resigning just before 2016. Then MMD has no money, including their President(My Uncle) who is still struggling with even accommodation. HH has the monetary power but lacks leadership qualities. I worked as an auditor at his firm. He was so tribal and trivial. As at now the grassroots likes PF and those people lack critical thinking. Bena ukwalola umwela thats where they go. MMD and UPND needs a language that will make people change their MMD. PF won because of Dounchi Kubeba, The boat symbol which people joked like bushe muli mubwato, & the red card

    • What Political graph 2011-2016??? we are only 7 months in 2012, how can you create a graph based on blogs on LT to determine popularity, sad state of affairs indeed.

Where did you purchase your G9 certificate??

  8. WELL SAID MR PRESIDENT, I AGREE WITH YOU TOTALY THAT M.M.D. WILL NEVER RULE AGAIN ESPECIALLY WHEN THE PARTY HAS A PRESIDENT LIKE NEVERS MUMBA. AS WELL AS UPND UNDER H.H WHO HAS NO PLAN.

  9. #10 ICE_ROAD_TRUCKER – correct. PF should be very careful or else they are going in 2016. There is just too much talking and no substance. In a way I feel sad for those among them who may be trying to work hard and act as a sensible government but are failing to shine through because of the so much mud in PF’s waters of government performance. If things continue as they are I expect PF to explode to pieces just before the elections in 2016…I’m sure there are some people who will not want to go down with the ship. Let’s watch and see what happens.

  10. Sata, you havent delivered anything to the Zambian people apart from to your relatives and bembas that you have given jobs, you will be a one term president…….2016… you will be former and history.

  11. Sata,  former ruling parties return to power, it just happened in mexico

And MMD was better than you and planless PF
    We had less power cuts,
They appointed professional people from all part to take up government positions
Cotton prices were going up and not down
They increased maize prices every year
They did not promise what they couldnt deliver
    Inflation was going down
    The Kwacha was stable
    Food prices were not sky-rocketing.

IN 2016, YOU WILL BE SHOCKED BECAUSE YOU WILL BE PACKING TO PARK.

  12. They seem not to understand that each time they go to the people asking for votes they are in actual fact seeking employment.
What the candidates need to realise is that its not Sata who employs you but the people that voted for you The presidents job is then to find those that are able to work with him to deliver development.
So in my opinion they should stop talking about others seeking jobs because if they where not they why are they standing???

  13. Forget it all you PF haters! We have the government machinery now , AND in an African democracy we are bound to win all elections from now until 2030….

  14. I like Presido Sata, he is man of the rural people. KK, Mwanawasa, RB never sat or kneel before any villager-chief. Ka Chiluba tried, but this one and only this Sata is very much down-to-earth, he even sits on it!!

    • iwe wanama iwe Mwanawasa and RB were loved by cheifs its only chiefteiness nkomesha who never liked RB Zambians why do you forget so easily?

  15. I lied to become president, what made you think i will stop lying in orer to get MPs?

  16. There we go again, Will mr president stay in power for life? What is he he gonna do to prevent that from happening? Kill every voter? Even pf would be shocked to hear there leader pronounce such statements!

  17. NEVER SAY NEVER, your Brother Bwezeni said said that all the time that SATA WILL NEVER RULE and what happened; The same will happen to you Bwana please Learn; only God can say never!!!!!!!! kwasila

  18. MMD will never rule again they had their chance. UNIP had its chance and it aint happenning again, the British had their chance to rule over Zambia and it aint happening again.once PF loses they aint comming back again and thats the way the cookie crambles

  19. Once voted out (or God forbid, when we have a presidential bye election), the PF will never rule Zambia ever again.

  20. a massage for Dr Kaseba, kindly let your hubby be tested (MMSE) mini mental state exam, he could be dementing. i am sure you agree with me looking at the way he’s been carrying himself these days. his speech is becoming incoherent, there’s also some memory loss as he can’t live up to his promises. Tell me what is it that is in state house that makes people grow old faster and start thinking like they are above the law? they also become small gods, too much money? or is it just the king cobra thing? african pride and stubborn!

  21. #3 that is uncalled for….we real Christians believe God exists don’t bring him in human traditions which he created…just debate maturely like the rest….having said that the President is making dangerous words that might prove him wrong but I guess politicking is dirty after all

  22. OK, Mr. Sata we hear you. Now how about delivering on your promises instead of continuing to flog a dead snake (oops! dead horse)!!!

  23. I don’t think it is correct to say what happened to UNIP will naturally follow for MMD. Yes, the ruling party still enjoys many advantages (such as a presidential jet paid for with tax money being used for campaigning), but a really big difference between now and the early 1990s is the arrival of the internet and sites like this that make it easier and cheaper to communicate.

  24. He is busy campaigning instead of working. This country is in a critical position and he can’t see the urgency. Spending taxpayers money on party things. Why can’t he let the candidates campaign for themselves or send less important Wynter Kabimba to campaign. Where are in big trouble. Nothing will change in Zambia until we change this leadership. I’ve completely lost all hope…

  25. Sarkozi is being investigated as the French law stripes someone’s immunity as soon as they leave their presidency.Zambian Law?I think this has to be included in our constitution.Immunity even after you leave office?Fishy

  26. Not lifting one’s immunity after they leave office shows how much corrupt we are as Zambians and how much we keep in corners for we know we are the big fish.Immunity is the crime itself especially when one leaves office.Lets debate on this

  27. MMD might rule but Sata’s comments should not be compared to the muslim brotherhood. They had not ruled before and mmd did so people know mmd

  28. A honest answer, MMD might have come back, but the way the ball is rolling, i have a big doubt that it will come back, maybe if they had a different leader not NM. So I am not even hoping for MMD to come back myself though I did support their policy, this time, I do not.

I hoping for the fresh blood and not a bemba if possible, sorry my morners for MMD, Ou had a chance to choose a leader to redeem MMD, but right now, they will just divide the vote among the bembers and so HH or someone else may come through if no corruption is not there. This is my simple and shallow analysis from a villager’s point of view anyway!

  29. PF would only continue in power if they have a policy where the Presidents sits for 10 yrs only and then they vote for presidential party rather than the same big man, then it will be a mornacy shich is not for Zambian, hopefully people with high tech now, will know how to play their numbers in the current democracy
