Police Storm UPND Secretariat in search of seditious material

A group of more than 10 police officers stormed United Party for National Development UPND offices with a view of searching the premises.

The officers, some of whom were armed with AK47 rifles, had in their possession a search warrant in which they claimed they wanted to verify reports that the premises had seditious material.

They were however faced with resistance from party cadres and lawyers.

The officers arrived at the UPND Secretariat at around 16:30 but by 18:00 a search had not been conducted.

They were seen in a corner meeting with lawyers Sakwiba Sikota, Martha Mushipe and Keith Mweemba.

The CIA, the M15 and M19, the FBI, the Zambian shushus all these are intelligence department, what they do when they see that the President is dieing, they will start issuing wild and bizarre statements that there are plans to assassinate the President. they are scared to tell us the truth tht Sata is sick and he might die whilst in office/ so they know if he dies in office we will be vindicated!! so what
    do they do to avoid public humilliation and ridicule, they start issuing careless statements meant to protect themselves.

    this is where the Shushuz come in, they wil now plant incriminating evidence agiant some prominent opposition leaders whom they will frame for assassinating the President.

    HH is innocent if he is. i doubt if he can go to such extremes.

Sata is indeed a student of Mugabe & now we can all see the result of their friendship. HH just be strong & couragous, all these things are just but for a moment. It is PF V the people of Zambia. This is just the downfall of Pf, it might be now or latter pf will go down the Zambian history as the most useless & clueless government over.     • thank you for your advise my Br. HH is not only fighting for the Tonga, its only that the Politicians are fighting him on Tribe lines. He is a Genuine man. Its good that he is not allowing PF ( Paya F armer ) to destroy this country. Remember what is happening in Zimbabwe, any politician with a voice to the ruling Govt is in troble and this is exactly were we are going as zambians. Time will tell.Rememeber Kaunda had a slogan ” Kumulu ni Lesa Panshi ni Kaunda, were is he today?” Sata thinks he will rule us till Jesus returns to earth, wait and see, he has just switched of his mind set.

  20. The state of government reflects the state of the electorate in Zambia. You keep voting the same calibre of people into office and expect a different result. As long as we have a largely illiterate electorate we will keep making the same mistake. The fact that some people even consider HH and Nevers Mumba as alternatives is testimony to this. Both of these are clearly in it for themselves and yet there are people who seriously believe they are presidential material. When was the last time you heard the latter articulate economic issues? To be honest I don’t think he understands very much about global affairs and governance. Candidates like Elias Chipimo jnr who are able to articulate issues are largely ignored and yet those are the potential presidential material.

    • Being articulate alone is not enough to qualify someone for a presidential material. Elias jnr needs more than a good cOmmand of English to win hearts. If there was a better time in our history to take advantage of political  vacuum it is now. I strongly believe he needs more time as fearless opposition leader to prove his worthy. Although 2016 is up for grabs It would be Nevers Mumba with his reformed new MMD. He has a support base around the country. His squickie clean personality, charisma and presidential image will be icing on the cake. Chipimo may be ready after 2016 if he ups his game, but it is nice to have him in the political arena.

    • How easy you forget and claim you can vote differently when in retrospect you are supporting a one Elias Chipimo Jr with no backbone who easily jumps into Ukwa’s pocket (Rio trip) for mere tax-payers allowances.So cheap. Next time examine yourself before attacking others.

  23. If there is a probable cause, why not search the premises especially that the police have a search warrant. I see nothing sinister here

  35. HH has been pushing his luck. I would say Sata (or Satan as some wish to call him) has been very patient. I’m sure some fanatic will now accuse me of supporting PF, but being revolutionary, or rebellious, is quite a different thing from being rude, and HH is rude.

  36. It is difficult to understand what the fuss about HH is all about since according to PF he is nothing. Now many people must be wondering how true that statement is.   38. Kampusa wabo, i think that he is not a factor when it comes to winning Zambian majority votes, but for people outside Zambia, investors and the likes, he can be an alarmist which can cause panic amongst investors which is not good for us. I may be wrong, but this is how I see it.

  44. I just spoke to someone on the phone, they are saying the search warrant was written with a pen on a piece of paper and not typed. How true is this?

    • Wether the search warrant was typed, handwritten or verbally ordered, this pursuit is simply unacceptable, backwards and unhealthy. HH is opposition leader that should freely exercise his freedom to criticise, praise or stay quiet as he pleases. Sata is abusing power using state police to intimidate and victimise. Since entering state house, all he has done is send people to jail, summon for interrogation and diplomatic blunders. I blame opposition leaders for not going far enough and condemn by stagging a walkout from parliament for a day or two. We are a democracy and MPs or their political leaders are constitutionary privileged and be protected by law. This cannot carry on.

This president is a cancer at heart of our freedom that must urgently be uprooted.   49. It is Bemba plot to ensure that only Bembas will contest the next presidential elections. Any non Bemba leader who has a following will face persecution if need be death. Non Bembas prepare to defend your rights against this Bemba tribalist cabal. Fight back with any means necessary otherwise you risk becoming second class citizens in your own country!

  54. Ukwa & his Pama Fi (PF) is making the same mistake FTJ & MMD made in 1992; concentrating on fighting the opposition instead of striving to fulfill your election promises. The Pama-Fi (PF) was voted mostly on youth unemployment promises. But no programs except rhetoric have been initiated. We need educated people to run the country. What can an ex-colonial policeman, ex-bag potter know about economics? The only time Zambia has had any development is when graduates were at the helm, i.e. Levy Mwanawasa & RB.

  55. Apply advanced intelligence skills in careful evaluation of gathered information related to national security not manufacturing information related to the above. Scrutinise your sources by having so many sources who even under intense marathon cross examination at highest court level can account for every aspect they submitted to their handlers during the course of information gathering. Are there any real compelling aggravating circumstances which commpel the law enforcement agents in executing searches which amount to a state carrying out espionage activities against its own citizens and its unacceptable in any civilised country. You are responsible for building a highly reputable character of Mr. HH internationally. We respect victims of witch hunts i.e. Mr HH

I see nothing wrong with searching of UPND offices.Anyone’s home can be searched by the police at any time.This is not something new.If the police suspects something,they have a rite to search.Why is UPND refusing to be searched if they are innocent?One will always say no to such when they are guilty.I can smell something wrong with UPND.

  59. HH has to change his approach to confrontational politics and assume a constructive role and all will be well. His media Department also fails him, especially the way he handles his media briefings, I odubt if his legal team even goes through his statements before he gives them to the media.
    How do you declare war with a President whose whole state machinery is at his disposal????

Challenge your govt. to produce evidence which can support a waste case scenario that Mr.HH is a threat to Zambia’s national security. Is Mr.HH in possession of heavy weaponary which can enable him or his followers to engage the Zambian security forces in a battle? The answer is no, therefore this is coward short sighted move on the part of the Zambian govt. to initiate, sustain fear and untrust amoung its citizens. On one hand, the very govt. is brandishing Mr.HH as a tribalist and an economic terrorist. If today Austin Mbozi the so called UNZA Don is arrested for questioning for his calling voters who votwed the Pf in Government foolish and commenting on a case that is before courts of law in his posting on the ZWD, you all claim he is being persecuted. But how can one person insult the whole country, stating that President was voted for by foolish voters, what makes him the only wise guy??? Please dont allow blind hatred motivated purely by tribal sentiments blind your reasoning. All that we want from the govt are the much preached jobs not politics, we want food, shelter, clean water and sanitation, security from thieves, we want to afford decent education and health- these are the issues I want to be headline every day.
