HH disputes Government’s investment pledge figures

Headlines HH disputes Government's investment pledge figures

Hakainde Hichilema
Hakainde Hichilema

UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has disputed investment pledges figures announced by government for the first half of 2012.

Mr Hichilema said that government is not being sincere about the recorded increase in investment pledges.

Mr. Hichilema said that lack of clarity by the PF government on its investment policies could not in any way encourage investors to come and invest in the country.

In an interview, the opposition leader further stated that the repossessing of Zamtel from LAP Green Network has also sent a bad signal in to the investor community.

Mr. Hichilema has also accused the Chief government spokesperson Kennedy Sakeni of not being conversant with economic issues describing his statement on the increased investment pledges as mere political rhetoric.

Government on Wednesday disclosed that the country recorded $4.1 billion in investment pledges of the approved projects during the first six months of 2012.

Chief Government Spokesperson Kennedy Sakeni in a statement said the investment pledges are expected to create 18,778 job opportunities for Zambians.

  1. Mr. H.H when the MMD government sold Zamtel you were one of those that condemned them what has changed now. When making reference please choose your words nicely. Don’t just condemn for the sake.

  2. Am not surprised that this argument is coming from this egocentric tribalist.Go hung yourself hakalema hakaboba coz those figures are what is wasup

    • You are the one that is tribal and dull. You mean you cannot make any intelligent argument without labelling some tribal much like the person you are defending for he is the one that has gone planting this hatred for other tribes that it makes me fear for our country

    • If you where an objective critic or observer you would know who is and isn’t tribal…Sata is driving our country into damnation with his diabolical conduct…

    • We dont need an Obama in Zambia but a Zambian with clear understanding of the Zambian situation.
HH is neither inspirational nor fit for the gigantic task of bulding our country.

  3. We have also said on this blog that – Let the Minister give us more details. A list of those investors, how much each is pledging, towards what, etc, etc.

    Talk is cheap.

If Wishes were horses – The CNPs would have no space to keep them.

    • Plans are under way to build a tram, sub ways ..Many investors are on the drawing board.HH just support this noble cause you are fighting a losing battle.PF is very popular

  4. Sata is the one running a tribal Bemba gov’t. Sata is the one who has appointed his Bemba relatives to top positions at the Ministry of Finance. @ Chief is it now a Bemba unwritten rule to label anyone who questions your Bemba tribal government as a tribalist? If you monkeys don’t want to be answerable to anyone why don’t you set up a Bemba country in Northern and Luapula provinces? That way non Bembas or tribalists as you call them won’t bother you!

    • Its nice to be Bemba and see how all others keep throwing tantrums at us. Let me enjoy Bemba mweee, while it lasts. Let me think again, who can throw us out. I think now we shall unite even more. After all, 50% plus is Bemba Speaking in Zambia. I love this talk.

  5. The $4.1 billion investment was pledged to MMD… and what formular are PF using to come up with 18,778 job opportunities????

  6. On this blog, You’ll identify those whose heard is still buried in the sand. Just read the comments and you will see quality of their Thinking.

Guys, As the Chief CNP, I am strongly advising all of you small Tufimbwi No Plans (TNPs) – The boat is sinking. JUMP OUT. No need pretending.

There is no need flogging a dead Horse – Abandon it. You can do better running on foot

  7. Dont worry about the appointments that are being made. Even if am not Bemba, i would not complain becuase those he has appointed to key positions they travelled with him in those 10 years of struggle. So why should he appoint you guys who disowned him.

Few others have been appointed for political reasons, if you were supported by your close friends and relative give them the job else, they will disown you.

    • this is the kind of warped thinking that has made Africa and Zambia be least developed. While he may appoint those that have been with him, they should qualified for the jobs that they are appointed. There is nothing as frustrating  as working under some ill qualified and incompetent boss. He can appoint his friends as ministers with zero qualifications because as things stand they not qualifications required. but where you appoint unqualified people in professional positions in civil and foreign service and guy like you are applauding, then know that the country has gone to the dogs

    • U WANT HIM TO APPOINT hh AND KAKOMA WHO HAVE SAID THEY CANT WORK WITH PF? nO NSONE CHABE BA UPND AFTER THE PACT, IT WOYULD BE EMBARASSING TO GO BACK. JUST SAY IT AS IT IS.

  8. Congratulations Mr. HH for that robust reaction absolutely right
The regime should not just make statements so as to create false hopes yet it knows that the figures announced by its spokesperson can not be substantiated by facts. Please challenge it to provide Zambians with quality employment it promises to create for the youths not quantitative employment which is completely unsustainable. If a govt. embarks on a drive to create employment it should be quality employment meant to benefit employees and their dependants in a sustainable manner. Zambians do not deserve employment which last for weeks or months. The PF regime must talk sense and they should not present Zambians with complicated figures for fan because Zambia is not a FOOTBALL field but a country with immediate needs.

  9. Loi.. the ka little envious weasel is in denial. Lol. He clearly pretends to look the other way as abnormal load trucks carrying huge CAPEX  continue to storm our roads and more. He should get out of his ka little secretariet in Rhodespark and sit in LUMUMBA or the Great NOrth Road and see for himself as he’s in denial instead of sitting at his desk reading watchdog and WANKING

  10. Absolutely right Mr.honourable part president,
Mr. HH Remind them about their application of socialism in their rank and file membership. Why can’t the PF govt. transfer the application of socialism to the ordinary Zambians across the board, insteady of practising socialism among themselves through salary hicks and endless expensive dinners at the expense of tax payer’s money and there are also borrowing alot of money for expenditures which are imaterial to Zambians. The PF club has also detached itself from the ordinary Zambians except those who benefit from them. This is evident through their bourgeois life style because they do not reflect the true interests of the Zambians.

  11. As always stupid bloggers react without thinking.Whenever HH has spoken he discusses issues that affect everyone in the country. There is nothing tribal here.Either you agree or you dont but you should equally stick to the issue under discusion.

    • Has HH ever tried to invite investors to come to Zambia?Never ! let him shut up then many companies in the UK,China… are planning to invest in Zambia you will shocked one day ,HE Sata has been quite ,working in the back ground

  12. I am very disappointed that all HH is worried is the reported increase in investment pledges. While the figures mentioned by government are disputable, HH should not be wasting his time arguing about the pledges, particular since he was Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Zambia Investment Centre. While pledges may be useful to judge the mood of investors, what is of critical importance is the fulfilled pledges. Of the pledges PF found how much has been actualised, that is what will tell you the real confidence of lack of it that investors have. If you read news papers we have been for a long time been fed with investment pledges even under the MMD by Mutati and this seem to the only statistic they are able to collect. can we have actual investment and labour figures since PF won

  13. The PF regime should be reminded that conscientising people about what rightfully belongs to them by Mr. HH does not amount to tribalism, besides even serious issues like racism it becomes an issue of serious concern if a person perpetuating racism/tribalism is in a position of authority i.e. in gvernment such as the Zambian situation presently. The Zambia head of state appoints a majority of Bembas to key govt. positions, then he jumps up and claims to be a victim of tribalism perpetuated by Mr. HH. That is a worst form of hypocricy. Put a simple question to him and ascertain between the two, who is using his position to heal the wounds? It is Mr HH. Being the head is a huge sensetive task which needs collective approach not a unilateral attitude and name calling approach such as under

  14. Well Pledges are just like PF campaign promises and they are fully loaded with a DONCHI KUBEBA pill. I’m surprised the PF want to show us that they can swallow their own poison pill.

Frankly, we shouldn’t even be debating pledges and this Government shouldn’t have taunted pledges as a measure of achievement? Why don’t they just use FDI numbers. Nobody can argue with those. FDI numbers are hard facts and recorded and there is enough data from January to July to prove a trend.

And the line of JOB OPPORTUNITIES CREATED rather than JOBS CREATED  in that Sakeni report has deceit written all over it.

Bottom line is that Govt is panicking because they know they have not done anything and Sakeni has just started his fresh lessons in Spin Doctoring.

  15. UMWAICE UYU LISHILU FYE. THEY CONDEMNED THE SALE OF ZAMTEL AND TOGETHER WITH PF OR SEPARATELY PLEDGED TO REPOSES IT, TODAY HE CONDEMNS WHAT HE WAS ALSO GOING TO DO IF HE WERE GIVEN A CHANCE TO RULE. NINGULU ALWALA?

    • They condemned the way it was being handled and not privatising it.Mark my words zamtel is colapsing very soon.Check the records at zicta

  16. that flip-flopping crook has no morality and will never be a zambian leader
    Remember..

Rupiah, his sons and Dora are guilty over Zamtel sale – HH
    06/16/2010
UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema yesterday charged that President Rupiah Banda, his children,
Dora Siliya and the team are guilty of corruption in the sale of Zamtel and they will never wash themselves clean.
And Hichilema said he was not involved in the privatisation of RAMCOZ in Luanshya.
Commenting on the sale of Zamtel’s 75 per cent shareholding to Libya’s LAP Green Network for US$257 million despite public outcry, and government’s attacks on him that he was part of the privatisation process in the 1990s, Hichilema said President Banda, Siliya and the

    • a mistake was made by MMD, does PF need to make mistakes too.HH never promised to reposses Lapgreen…read the article again sir

    • I like people that say never as if they were the creator. Ask RB he said Sata will never rule and Chiluba went as far as saying Sata will only rule over his dead body and for sure he is ruling over his dead body. You can never say never and it is this wamuyaya mentality that makes our leaders lose touch with reality

  17. continued
President’s children benefited from the “dirty” transaction.

Prof Lungwangwa questions HH’s criticism over Zamtel sale
    By Christopher Miti in Chipata
    Tue 15 June 2010

COMMUNICATIONS and Transport minister Professor Geoffrey Lungwangwa has said opposition UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema’s statement criticising the sale of 75 per cent shares of Zamtel lacks originality.

During a special programme on Breeze FM last Saturday, Prof Lungwangwa said it was unfortunate that Hichilema said the PF-UPND pact would reverse the sale of Zambia Telecommunications Company Limited (Zamtel) once it gets into power.

  18. and HH has made a pact with those MMD thieves after election because of PF victory
birds of a feather stick together.
We know shady privatisation of RAMCOZ, Kagem mine intercontinental hotel… pathetic and abject

    • Sata is a good man other wise HH would have been arrested for coorupt practices. He was awared that contract by ZANACO in a dubious way.Let the former MD for Zanaco (BEFORE IT WAS SOLD ) dispute this.

  19. @10 Digga What is the percentage of that cargo you always see actually belongs to Zambians on the streets? Does the increase of the heavy haulage on your roads reflect the ability of majority Zambians? Does it mean that if 15/20 Zambians import valuable machines it is therefore a representative sample of the majority Zambians? Are you telling the rest of the world that residents of Matero, Kanyama, Kalinga-linga, Mutendere, Mandevu, George, Baulen, Chaisa, Petauke, Mansa, Monze, Chipata, Kasama etc. are all successful and there is no need for Mr.HH? Do not be naive and transfer your narrow analysis to us. I live in Cape Town in an upmarket area and a very proud S. African. I know all facts and research everything

  20. I totally agree with you 2H. Actually this also goes back to the argument between Km Sampa and Dambisa a few days ago. As far as I understand, Sampa, Sakeni and their statistics are all shihti, Even much of the statistics that MMD did and used to parade around as indicators of success was all shi^t. Investments are just hard to come by. The only investments one can count is dirty resource ploundering focused chinese investments.

  21. BRILLIAN HH …i never thot in that line. LET sakeni elaborate how PF will create those jobs not just promising. we have had too many promises already…….ka under 5 kali nanzelu baati!

  22. HH as an aspiring leader should learn to speak with facts. Why is he in such a hurry to always portray a negative picture even when facts are presented to him? As the situation stands he keep exposing his bitterness and envy for the good economic performance of the PF Government.
    1. Agriculture – US$ 299,031,822 – 2,677 jobs
    2. Manufacturing – US$ 454,747,902 – 4,939 jobs
    3. Service – US$ 137,809,860 – 3,064 jobs
    4. Transport – US$ 67,260,496 -801 jobs
    5. Tourism – US$ 104,919,409 – 494 jobs
    6. Construction – US$ 56,603,000 – 873 jobs
    7. Mining – US$ 2,384,943,662 – 3,646 jobs
    8. Health – US$ 1,507,000 – 49 jobs
    9. Real Estate – US$ 644,636,660 – 2,260 jobs
    10. ICT – US$ 2,093,300 – 21 jobs
    11. Finance – US$ 653,954 – 4 jobs

    • Dear Prof, Your figures do not add up, whats up? Please do a simple copy-and-paste of your figures into your (excel) spreadsheet and sum them up. Question:- How come your figures do NOT add up to US$4.1bn and 18,778 jobs respectively to tally with Sakeni’s?  Answer:- It’s because your figures are simply cooked up and completely fake. So, your ‘facts’ are not facts. Furthermore, the other tale tell indication that even Sakeni’s figures are very questionable in the absence of a well thought-out plan, is that the number of so called jobs is too exact (i.e. exactly 18778 jobs. Not 18777, not 18779), whereas the money figure is an approximate at too high a figure. (US$4.1bn).

  23. The PF regime has no yard stick it can use to measure its performance because they have consistently been attempting to find many criteria applicable to their bizarre perfomance and they keep on finding a common paradox. What follows from their partner ‘frustrations’ are outbursts at their new found ‘enemy’ UNPD and its predominant tribe the Tongas. In fact the new conflict driven trade mark of the PF club is ‘tribalism’. These people believe in biting, chewing and spiting . They do not have time to collectively weigh the costs and benefits of their speeches and effects of insinuations. Disinterestedness and denials reflect everything about them. Viva UNPD, viva makabane, forward with the people’s struggle, away with propaganda and long live Mr. HH

  24. @# Prof.25 Well said and seemly looks convincing,
most of those high figures of employment you posted on internet are what we classify as non-decent jobs in sectors as manufacturing, mining, the service industry, agriculture, construction, real estate and tourism. Prof. if you are lecturing students in labour studies you know what I am pointing out at this level. Look at your own figures of sectors such as ICT, health and finance, the figures are very low, why? It is because the PF govt. has failed to smoothen the production of knowledge and also to attract and retain skills of educated Zambians. Insteady of nurturing, the PF govt. is promoting brain drainage. Let Mr. HH turn Zambia into a construction site in all aspects. Thank you.

  25. Simply put… tribalistic mashabe at work for this chap.
I feel terribly sorry for his heightened stupidity and lack of sincerity
Is there a doctor in the house?

  26. Hakainde please don’t expose your governance ignorance in public, you are just being cheap on development matters. We can’t engage you even because its a waste of time.
We just need answers from you on Lima Bank and other companies you privatized.

  27. What I am worried about the UPND and HH is that whenever they talk is they are complaining about the Police, telling us about PF training malitias, complaining about ZNS, opposing minimum wage, telling us about PF planting sadicious material. What I m personally interested in is their version of the 90 day theory. What are you going to do for us once we vote for you?

  28. @#25, Prof. In academic cycles, a scholar is a free thinker, independent and critical. However, do not attach extremely minor archievements of job creations of professionals in health, finance and ict as being a representative sample of the entire unemployed population of Zambia. If this is how you attack Mr.HH, then Prof., I suggest that you and I should revisit our respective universities for lectures in a lot of disciplines. All the issues Mr. HH has brought to our attention thus far are pertinent matters worth further exploration and engagements with the PF regime. Viva the son of the soil, viva. Away with propaganda and forward with people’s struggle. Unity among all Zambians.

  29. The issue is our mineral wealth reaching the state coffers or lining up the pockets of politicians? .And after it reaches right places are they being used in the best interest of the people of zambia. All this political rhetoric is not making us effective. This resource based wealth is cyclical we should remind ourselves to make the most of it while it lasts. The chinese should have the interest of zambia as well as theirs. It has to be a win-win game not lopsided .

  30. Wena, @32#Kraalstan for life, What true data are demanding from Mr. HH. for the sake of correcting your ignorance, Mr. HH is in the oppostion and he does not manufacture data for the PF regime. Mr HH simply critically and indepedently opposes unilateral unfair conducts of the PF regime. If you want data from Mr.HH, then any information he has will be disseminated to you through normal channels. You must also know that Mr.HH’s information is subjudica, you can apply to any court for access to certain information and if the court deems that it is necessary then, access will be granted. Stop harrasing and demeaning Mr. HH

  31. Bo HH please sometimes you should think before you open you big mouth. You said you would reposess ZAMTEL once you came into power What has changed now? Is it because you are not in plot 1?? I think you are jut dull HH because all Zambians are happy that ZMTEL is back in their hands. Why give an Investment that was created with Zambians tax maoney to the sons of Khadarf for a song?? And you support that theft, HH what is happening with you…are really normal or you have become entally sick??

  32. The chap HH is mentally sick coz he is forgeting what he said. He is turning 180 degres from what he supported…the reposession of ZAMTEL. HH’s brain sholud be checked before we loose him. I have seen people who just go mad like this while people are thinking that person is joking and yet it it is otherwise.

  33. Sorry I omitted “you” in the first sentence above. I was attempting to put a question to Kraalstan as to why he wants data from Mr.HH. Please take note of that error. Otherwise, keep on reminding them that people’s conscious is stronger than any one person. No even one human being has ever truly successfully suppressed someone’conscious. Implications of such attempts have far reaching negative consequents for the oppressor. The PF regime must recall that its shadow associated with irresponsible governance is bound to catch with them in future. Forward with the people’s struggle, Viva Mr.HH, away with propaganda and unity among all Zambians

  34. @ 1 Brian “…. what has changed now?” It’s said that two wrongs never make a right. Should your daughter conceive out of wedlock, that would be unpalatable, embarrassing, wrong and criticisable. Should your daughter turn around and abort a five months pregnancy just because it was wrong for her to conceive out of wedlock, that would be horrendously heinous and totally despicable. There are times a decision maker has to choose the lesser of two evils. I hope this helps you to understand and appreciate HH’s seeming capitulation on an issue of paramount importance to the Zambian economy, namely the repossession of Lap Green by the PF government. It’s definitely as ugly if not uglier than was the sale of ZAMTEL.

  35. Dear Prof#25, Your figures do not add up, what up? Please do a simple copy-and-paste of your figures into your (excel) spreadsheet and sum them up. • Hachimbwi Halibe Plan. (HHP) Lol…. It’s futile trying to erase bemba language from Zambia. its the most dynamic language hence the influence. Not that its people are any special but the language easily adapts, thjats y you find various versions of it from CB, luapula, selenje etc

  36. Understandably, HH pledged to reverse the sale of ZAMTEL but today condemns such a move by the PF. Some bloggers seem to insinuate that he must stand by the pledge he made and not condemn the PF for it. I call this stinking thinking. Saying “I am going to kill somebody” and actually killing somebody are not one and the same thing. One must not be condemned for saying that he would and yet the same cannot be said of the one who actually kills somebody. In the parable of Jesus, the son who promised to obey his father but did not was condemned and the one who said was not going to obey but later did was exonerated. HH must not held to what he said and is entitled to condemn such a move by the PF. As it is the repossession of ZAMTEL has indeed left an ugly scar and is condemnable.

    • your example is stup1d to say the lest, say you are going to kill someone and you will be arrested and prosecuted, so HH should be blamed, and at the same time what we are questioning is  HH’s truthfulness, did he say that just to win support at that time? if so, how can we believe him now? HH has no moral right to condemn the move he supported.

  38. #37, I PERSONALLY DO NOT CONSIDER HH AS A SANE PERSON. I ALWAYS SUSPECTED THERE WAS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH HIS HEAD. I JUST CONFIRMED AFTER 2011 ELECTION THAT I MAY BE RIGHT. HE AMAZES ME HOW QUICKLY HE CAN ABOUT-TURN ON THINGS HE SUPPORTED NOT LONG TIME AGO. FINALLY, HE HAS AMAZED ME ABOUT HOW FAR HE CAN TAKE HIS BITTERNESS NOT ONLY AS A MAN (which is very rare amongst men) BUT ALSO TO THE LENGTH OF TIME HE HE HARBORS HIS BITTERNESS. IF HE WERE ELDERLY WE WOULD SAID HE IS DEMENTED. BUT SINCE HE’S A YOUNG MAN MAYBE HE’S MENTALLY UNWELL.

  39. Comrade honourable,HH ask them, the so called economic architects of the Zambian economy why is it that the Zambian financial sector is unable to absorb the negative consequences battering it following the embracing PF govt.’s attempt to mute you & UNPD rank and file membership in the abortive plot. Every stock exchange in the region reacts to such acts in a negative mode.Only, may be in Zambia the reaction is somewhat swept underneath the carpet. You must recall Zambia is Africa’s biggest producer of the red metal and it value is ever swelling. When political instability is initiated even in a slightest manner it affects Zambian markets that is precisely what happened when comrade HH proved to be a victim of a witch hunt based on mambo jumbo talk which emanated from the govt..

  40. Interestingly enough, following from the PF govt. disappointing attempt to mute both Mr.HH and his outstanding professional rank and file membership, the Zambian financial sector is being battered by irresponsible govt. actions. The implications which emanated from the abortive move is that the inflation rate increased by 0.2 percentage point. For time markets in Zambia have been trying to absorb the shocks which have been on a gradual rise because of govt.’s interference in the opposition affairs. Presently, speculators are speculating that some banks are facing closure but the PF club is as usual maintaining their traditional slogan of denying. Political instability is threatening Zambian markets. Respect Mr. HH or you risk losing a stable economy. Viva comrade HH and unity among all

  41. @LENNOX LUZIPHO it doesnt matter where you are( soweto, mafika in a tin shack) the point im repeating for chaps like you (die hearts) is that kaHH must have insiders to give him true Data and use it to disect govt lies.
Failure to do this, HH has no moral right to bark.
Lennox, please know that this horse you are backing has dimished his Party’s retuns on three consective elections. Anywhere in the world he would be a dead horse. Im not a blind follower like you.
HH is a past SELL BY DATE politician.

  42. All govt. actions against comrade HH and his rank and file membership have so far produced unintended consequences i.e a sudden increase in the inflation rate and the strong possible closure of some financial institutions. The causal factor of all this stormy era, is the continued accumulation of shocks thrown to the Zambian markets. In simple terms, political instability is somewhat good for economic speculators in that they gain substantially in the short terms and it is bad for the country because it leads to capital being shifted to safer havens. So this is the main picture in Zambia because markets are very sensitive to shock waves caused by the PF club and it will continue to impact negatively on the local markets provided the govt. does not restrain itself from intimidatory tactics

  43. A lot of negative effects are filtering through to local markets following the embarrassing Zambian govt’s attempt to mute the strongman Mr.HH and his party, the UNPD. The shocks have been accumulating for some time now. The implications are as follows; the sudden increase in inflation percentage point and the impending possible closure of financial houses in Zambia, all these are effects of uncertainty emanating from savage moves perpetuated by the PF govt. on the UNPD.

  44. @ 51
KRAALSTAN FOR LIFE “…….HH is a past SELL …” Very hard reality if what you are saying is true. And yet I cannot dispute your point. But why then does he still want to clingskin”). on to the presidency of his party? And why the on-going commotion in the PF over him, if indeed he were “a dead horse” as you have surmised? I am perplexed and wonder if you are truely sincere about what you are saying regarding this seemingly prominent oppostion leader. YO MBULA MBO SHUBULA YO MBO KULOKA (Luyi for “never underate your opponent” literally “the rain that you presume to be a light shower could be the one that may soak you to your skin”).

  46. Always criticsing sense, thats why zambia will never develop. Even Congo has moved on from 1964 mentality while zambians are still stuck in the mud of colonial madness

  47. Following from a disappointing govt.attempt in which the state police failed to yield preferred results in the UNPD raid, markets are unble to offer extra shock absorbers to absorb the negative impact. Hence, a sudden rise in the inflation rate by 0.2 and another bad news is the possible closure of some financial houses in Zambia this is also attributed to political instability perpetuated by the PF govt.

  48. @IKANDULWA, thx and plse know that the UPND Party has no alternative to HH cos they respect him for his money rather than his steering of the Party boat. They have an impressively educated list of MPs but they fear that he will use his money to silence them. Not the PF as being peddled by others.
Eventually the UPND will have to bite the chipolopolo and have a widely accepted leader.

  49. @peter go and tell CNP to introduce windfall tax, remind him that he promissed to chase chinese investers, remind him that he promissed to put a stop to any foreigner work as a folklifter or crane operator, remind hime about chongwe electrification, what about cleaning the cities, job creation, all these and many more were promissed to be done within 90 days none has been done. So do not talk about HH he is not in gvnt. how can he be afailure before he becomes president.

  50. WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO BE DOING NOW IS START GOING ROUND THE COUNTRY INSTEAD OF WASTING YOUR TIME IN LUSAKA WHEN DO YOU THINK PEOPLE WILL COME TO JOIN YOU, OR YOU ARE JUST A STUPID FOOL WHO THINKS MAKING NOISE FROM LUSAKA THE PARTY CAN COME INTO POWER…..IN YOUR DREAMLAND WAKE UP AND START GOING ROUND THE COUNTRY ESPECIALLY WHERE YOU DONT GET VOTES YOU SILLY MAN OR ELSE YOU WILL NEVER GO TO STATE HOUSE:d

  51. @Kraalstan for life#51
My brother, I am not in the business of sobering/sweetening PFgovt. mambo jumbo talk founded on shaky foundations. Your umost important concern should be about your economy, not prolonging policy makers who are intent on holding poor Zambians hostages and the ransom they demand are votes from poor people. The data you keep on insisting that Mr. HH should possess is in itself a criminal act under the information clause act, please go through your country’s information act and you will acertain that privileged information is top secret and it is a sober punishable act to illegaly access it. Mr. HH is not naive to indulge in such acts. And or, try and learn how to maintain a sober personal character because it says a lot about you in our world.

  52. Every election you say HH come what be he shall rule but what we see is increased loss at each election. Even 2016 HH shall decline from 18% to 16 %. This is coz southern province with 16% of the Zambian voters will vote for him as usual.

  53. According to empirical evidence Mr.HH is likely to make announcements about his economic stimulous package for Zambia. He is very educated and he understands the logistics involved in releasing significant information of such magnitude. We on the other hand, are readily available to assist in drawing up a suitable economic rescue plan which can easily reverse any stalements in the Zambian economy. As South Africans, we are used to divergent and innovative planning, and we do not believe in trial and error because that approach is time consuming and very costly. Viva brother HH and long live people’s struggle. unity among all Zambian

  54. Typical of HH when he says sense along the way he messes up himself.HH begun very well challenging the PF spokesman on pledges but he brings in the ZAMTEL issue. Its this kind of inconsistency that puts him in the same boat with SATA who cant be trusted. Please HH avoid walking on thin ice to be a good politician.

  55. I want to add to the debate about the repossession of Zamtel & the suggestion that HH should not condemn it. I am not sure what angle HH condemns. But investment laws worldwide including the in Zambia provide for expropriation provided the investor is compensated(this is provided for in the current constitution). So far there is no information at least in the public domain which indicates whether the Libyans where compensated or at least refunded  their investment in Zamtel. If that was done particularly given the issues surrounding the sale, then investors should not have anything to worry about & HH would be wrong to condemn. In short it is not the repossession that should be condemned but the way it was done unless it can be shown that the law was followed when repossessing

  56. @ 67
Dont Kubabe Nabeve says: “…….So far there is no information at least in the public domain……” A cardinal point indeed. And that goes to show just how ineffective this PF government is. This is a crucial PR issue which could have easily helped easy the concerns of would be potential investors who otherwise would be turned-off by the seemingly negative Lap Green experience. Any prudent investor would look at risk of loss of investment due to probable government take-overs, political instability etc. The PF government needs to come-up clean and tell the world it’s side of Lap Green’s fate and how the investor was compensated for, in consequence of the government take-over. Otherwise, what else is there to counter the rumour mill version of the episode?

  57. Lets look at the impending case in which the state has a seemingly prima facie case against Mr.HH. Strictly weighing the probable defense argument, then one would argue that the ‘context’ in which those utterences were constracted becomes a determinant element in establishing the severity of the end result of the original statement. The utterences are not indicative of one interpretation and the accused can also indicate that those utterences could have been at that point in time meant something else which he could have been trying to cite. As long as the accused is able to constitute several interpretations pertaining to his statement currently before court, then a presiding judge cannot find him guilty beyond reasonable doubts

  58. It is very imperative to note/donate that Mr. HH ‘s case will be prosecuted at a high court level, the case in point is that each word which is part of the case can be interpreted in such a manner that ‘utterences’ in question can be manupulated as means to defeat prosecutors’ ‘intentions’ of securing a conviction. Furthermore, the defense argument can/would also contest that the application of clauses, in our case here in S.A. the criminal procedure act were not properly followed therefore, the defense can call for an acquittal.

  59. hey, does this guy still think he can be voted president?? Is he being sincere by acting like you can become one when infact not?
