Hakainde Hichilema has hit back on FDD President Edith Nawakwi over her incessant attacks on the UPND describing her as a hired gun of the PF government.

Mr. Hichilema told Journalists in Lusaka that Ms. Nawakwi should desist from attacking opposition leaders that do not attack her.

“I have avoided attacking her in public. Please let her stop attacking people that don’t attack her. It is just decent that she respects those that respect her,” Mr. Hichilema said.

“I have a wife and respect Madam Nawakwi.”

He was responding to continued attacks from Ms. Nawakwi on his leadership of the UPND and his style of politics.

Mr. Hichilema charged that the FDD leader is merely being used by Fred M’Membe and President Michael Sata.

“When M’Membe and Sata want to say something, they simply summon her and she will utter their words, she is simply a hired gun of the PF,” Mr. Hichilema said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hichilema has castigated the police for again denying his party a permit to proceed with their planned rally in Kanyama.

He said it is unfortunate that the PF has taken over the running of a professional police service and turned into an extension of the PF security wing.

“We have PF cadres such as Solomon Jere wearing our uniforms, the Zambia Police Service union belongs to us, all of us Zambians, it’s our uniform and they are wearing it to abuse our people,” Mr. Hichilema said.

  42. Now I agree with H.H.’s sentiments about Nawakwi because she is infact an extension of the PF Political Party. Every Political Party has extensions, like what you find on a telephone switchboard. The extension depends on the switchboard for every aspect of its existence. Similarly, Nawakwi depends on the PF for every aspect of her political existence. The difference is that Nawakwi is not bold enough to tell the PF that she would like to be Republican President one day. I have not seen that motivation in her. So I see Nawakwi becoming envious of political leaders that are bold enough to say “we regret to advise that we are not for sale to anyone for any amount”.   55. Let us call a spade a spade. Kaunda was from the north/Luapula, grew up there. Destroyed Zambia. Chiluba was also from the north/Luapula, destroyed Zambia and wanted to go for a third term. Sata is from the north. Things are now not looking good as far as upholding democracy. If Sata turns outs to be similar as Chiluba and Kaunda, well linear calibration will arise as in science and people will be right to say perhaps presidents from the north/Luapula has moved us backaward in Democracy. The huge challenge is thus on PF government. People are looking for evidence to live up to campaign rhetoric.

    • Bembas will be quick to deny that Kaunda is from Northern province. They claim he is from Eastern province or even Malawi but the fact is he is from Chinsali and he has never spoken an eastern language his entire life. He has always spoken Bemba. That is his mother tongue. Bemba’s are tricky in that they will disown their own in a hurry. They have disowned Kafupi who was a comon thief from Luapula and soon they will disown Satan who comes from Northern Province. These Kolwestans are crazy people mwe bantu!!

    Just to clear a bit on the money think HH has. Can anyone from Kalomo or wherever the businesses for HH are shoe or tell me how he is supporting the prople in those locations apart from poor slavery salaries he pays out to his workers. I making a challenge and please let someone come up with the CSR for any of HH’s so called businesses.

All these issues about Nawakwi and HH are useless to most of us fighting to put a meal on the table, take our children to better schools and have decent housing, roads, clean water, good transport etc. So if Zambians spend time and energy on comedy, then i see us go back to the dark days. We seem to have the same shoe size as Zimbabwe. When Kaunda started to ruin Zambia, starting with his one party state,followed by nationalisation,people continued to sing songs of Muyayaya on a Ghost train going into the dark. Years later the Ghost train never reached its destination though it continued to move at high speed to oblivion. Has Zambia recovered from that ride? No .   80. Why do we throw in extraneous things such as tribalism, hired gun on a subject that is very clear? HH can never accept to be in a pact where he is a junior partner. If MMD and UPND formed a pact today HH would not accept to be a junior partner despite the fact that his party has fewer MP’s notwithstanding the fact that the pact would be a formidable one. When Chirwa advised HH to become a junior partner in the PF-UPND pact it collapsed. He claimed PF had lost its popularity but was proved wrong in the 2011 elections. Is it not in keeping with HH’s ego that UNDP wanted to field candidates in all 150 constituencies despite the fact that it was a pact of three parties, FDD-UNIP-UPND? Perhaps he is haunted by the UNIP-ANC pact in which old Harry was given a raw deal as a junior partner.

HH dribbled her and Waza to run for president and as we all know it, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Just as many tongas have a passion for HH to take over plot one, it needs to be backed with evidence. Right now, the statistics as of 2011 show that UPND is number three. The implication of this stats is that HH need to beat MMD and PF to go into state house. Right now am not sure how he is going to beat MMD because they seem to be bedmates. He needs to get over this hurdle before he can start thinking of PF. Then he need to convince Nsengas,Bembas,Lalas, Lambas, Ushis, namwangas etc.. that 2016 is meant for him as a Tonga and not any other. Just imagine. Am not sure if Milupi is surrendering votes too

  100. The PF has failed to perform as in government.
    Youths are unemployed and the President continually makes ill- calculated statements and pronouncements such as the raise of the retirement age. Postponing retirement by 10 years theoretically means depriving graduates of employment for 10 more years.
    The PF has resorted to desperate means of governance by being intolerant and dictatorial. Imposing curfews and increased RTSA patrols are just the beginning. Many ministers in cabinet are grossly underqualified for their roles.
    To date, there is not a single legislation or policy passed to curb unemployment or stir small business generation!
    PF supporters= Turkeys cheering for xmas!!!

  103. My brother Bwalya, critical thinking is important when you get to the blog than uttering things without info. It does not mean that when PF won without a pact, it also goes for HH. No, it is not true. the reason is that UPND is a small HH based party that is engulfed in thinking Southern province is Zambia. My Grade one was in Southern and i worked most of my life in SP. I know how well meaning Tongas think and act. HH is putting a black smoke on the good Tongas and am sure people like you Bwalya are painting Tongas bad. My brother dont be under illusion that one day HH will share part of his Billions with you and have decided to cling to him like a tick at all cost. let go of the mirage and come to life again. Look for a better Tonga to represent Tongas. Tongas are not in short supply.

    • anyway am not been personal here. its how i see thinks. thinks are not okay in the country. the coat of living is too high for the majority of the poor though am not in that group. but our government is not showing us which direction the country is headed to. prices of basic commodities have gone up. am sure you and me can afford but what about our brothers and sisters in kalingalinga, mtendere, george comp., mandevu. these are the pipo who voted in masses for change. their suffering has sky rocketed within year. come on my brother we need level headed leadership.

    • I hope my brother Bwalya, you will be able to see the blog. Let me start with PF govt, is it not just right that we give PF even two years to allow them implement their plans instead of putting them under pressure which results in most of our sisters and brothers to be worst off. Southern province is part of Zambia. Why should Mps from this nice area of the country refuse to work with the Govt from day one yet the same people complain of not getting support for their constituency? Why should HH be on the neck of PF from day one? Let us not forget that PF has capacity to react also and this is what is happening. All this is at the expense of tax payers money.

    • Coming to the price of mealie meal, most people dont understand how these things work. The farmers demanded high maize price. The price that the Govt offered to farmers is way above the market price and everyone was happy with the move without realising that the high price of maize will be paid by the consumers. This has nothing to do with PF but the market. if you mess the market, it will mess you up too. So, if PF subsidises mealie meal, the implication is loss of probably hospital drugs or support to teachers. So in one way or another, high maize prices will have to be paid by Zambians. Thanks my friend bwalya. Let us keep on sharpening each other.

  106. To all hired PF bloggers Nawakwi never supported HH she went into hiding in her village and never said a word until after the elections because she wanted to stand as President not HH. She is bitchy with her party without an MP, she should just accept a job with PF then she can speak for them since she yaps too much. This is what happens to people who grew up in the jungle when they see the light they make the more noise to be noticed. If I were her with her dirty private life, I would keep quiet in my corner, all children with different fathers my foot.

  113. Oh my words, this man has no idea, who is dealing with. Solomon Jere is a professional. Far from being political. I had an honour of working with this man when I was working at the Norwegian Church Aid, 2004, by then he was a prison Chaplain, whilst persuing studies pa side. This man exhibited professionalism even when requesting for aid for prisoners. His demenor exhibits knowledge, ethics and professonalism, but also humility. I feel he does not deserve to be insulted by any politicians in the media. This man focuses on deliverables, and he will ensure that he delivers. HH, should learn to dialogue and not all the time taking things to the media, its out of fashion now.

This type of politics is archaic and should not be allowed to do the rounds in Zambia and the rest of the world. Come to think of it, let us back up a bit and learn from others. Michelle Obama and the speech she put up in the US. It is wow. But for the future first lady (HH), how is she going to perform her duties when the husband only regard her as someone who cannot speak out on issues affecting the nation. Zambians, these are signs of what a person HH is. I bet with all supporters for HH that he is full of pride that he cannot retrieve this assault on the women folk in Zambia and the world at large. A leopard will never change it’s spots, it remains a leopard.

I think HH is right like most Russians do they do not involve their wives in politics, the wife is a banker and to all those who have taken the kitchen issue literaly are just foolish, am shocked that even Nawakwi with all her education in the POST has taken HH comments on face value, maybe Hambulo has ditched her that is why she is not respecting her brother in law anymore calling him a pig or is this animal farm. Nawakwi and Masebo are a disgrace to the womenfolk of Zambia. If Nawakwi was that famous on the political scene how come she has failed to win any seats for MPs.

  126. In the name of democracy. PF should allow UPND to hold their meetings. They should only be stopped is they violate the public order act. The act states that a gathering cannot take place if there aren’t enough officers to police the event. I would understand if this occurs once in a while as Zambia only has 15,350 officers and are understaffed but its happening all the time. That’s raises suspicion.
