A senior member of the opposition Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) Brebner Changala says the looming appointment FDD leader Edith Nawakwi as republican vice president has no blessing of the party.
Mr. Changala says the FDD is convinced that their leader is joining the patriotic front government.
He says it is surprising that Ms. Nawakwi has embarked on attacking opposition political parties at the expense of mobilizing her party which he says she has run down since taking over from late Christone Tembo.
Mr. Changala has since pointed out that it will be prudent to leave the party which she has allegedly damaged.
UPND party deputy spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo has castigated Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) leader Edith Nawakwi and called her a job seeker.
He says Ms. Nawakwi has failed the women in politics by depleting the gains made by ate FDD president Christone Tembo.
Mr. Lifwekelo says under late General Tembo, FDD had more than 22 Members of Parliament but that the party has one MP under Ms. Nawakwi.
And Mr. Lifwekelo says a cabinet reshuffle is looming in the PF government which will see Ms. Nawakwi take up the position of Republican Vice President while Dr. Guy Scott is set to become minister without portfolio.
He claims that Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda will be retired to pave way for Bob Sichinga.

@Great Cardiff. I thought you should be in a position to know that under Mazoka, UPND never won Itezhi tezhi and Mufumbwe but HH has been able to win those two problematic seats. Infact under Mazoka, UPND ahd never won all the seats in Southern Province but the current UPND under the leadership of HH, UPND has all the seats in Southern Province. One thing you may also want to know is that Christone Tembo left the Presidence to Edith Nawakwi while still living. Nawakwi had time to consult from Tembo on how to run the party but she could not take advantage of that. Currently FDD has no stroghold except in Chasefu where Chifumu Banda has been winning the seat not because he is FDD but because he himself is popular amongst the people in that area.

HH took up UPND’s leadership after the death of Mazoka. It was infact Edith Nawakwi that attempted to destroy UPND while UPND was in the UDA alliance with FDD. UDA collectively did not have the 30 MP UPND now has alone all because in the alliance there was FDD. Now that UPND is alone without FDD even the number of MPs it has has even gone up. UPND now has MPs from Southern, Central, Western, and North Western Provinces. In that Past, it was a problem because of the alliance with FDD. Your analysis is not factual. under Mazoka, UPND had more MP seats in Lusaka, copperbelt, N/western and western provinces. UPND had counselors in Luapula and northern provinces, even in Mwense district where Chiluba came from UPND had counselors . As opposed to UPND of too day which has is 90 % southern province and 5 % western and 3% N/western.

Great Cardiff please be factual dont use a template from your party designed to deceive and spread propanganda.  UPND is no regional party. it has MPs in central, western ,north western and southern. Please tell us what region those four provinces represent?  You might also want to consider that after Mazoka got i’ll the party had started dying people like teta mashimba , liato, shakafuswa were porched by mwanawasa. The language you are using is the same you used during last year’s election that UPND was more popular than PF. What happened was disaster for you in Lusaka and Copperbelt just as usual . Nawakwi does not qualify to be appointed as VP under the constitution because she was a presidential candidate in the last elections in which she got 0.25% of the votes. A VP is a member of the National Assembly, in which case Nawakwi will have to be nominated and Sata has to drop one of his nominated members. Here is what the constitution says: Article 68 Nominated Members
(3) A person may not be appointed as a nominated member if he/she was
a candidate for election in the last preceding general election or in any subsequent byelection. Thus Sata will be breaking the law if Nawakwi will be appointed. The story can’t be true unless PF is to go against the republican constitution Sata swore to uphold.

@ 26 Zambia is not CB or Lusaka only. Mwanawasa lost both but still won in 2 elections. Who said UPND is not getting known and will remain unknown? If UPND was not known why is the grz fighting to the death to ensure that they dont have a rally in Lusaka? Sata did not win just because of Lusaka, its because he had got some vote elsewhere. Lusaka and CB alone can not win you an election.
