Zambia Under-20 coach Keagan Mumba has admitted that he has a makeshift team.
This after witnessing his team battle to a 2-2 home draw against Mali in a 2013 African Youth Championship third round qualifier played at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe on Saturday.
“This team is a makeshift team after most of our players graduated to the Under-23 team,” Mumba said.
Mumba admitted that defensively, the team had a lot of work to do before the return leg decider in Bamako on October 6.
“Especially at the back, they have to learn,” Mumba said.
However, Mumba said that Zambia was still very much in the hunt to qualify for the Algeria finals.
“If it was tennis I would have said duce advantage Mali but anything can happen in Mali,” he said.
Zambia must beat Mali in the return leg to ensure they qualify to the 2013 tournament to be hosted by Algeria in March.
