Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba has warned that Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) intending to form a parallel Government risk being de-registered.
Mr Kabimba said the Patriotic Front (PF) had been given a mandate to run the affairs of the country by Zambians and therefore it would not allow NGO’s to form a parallel Government.
“We won’t allow NGO’s to form a parallel Government, people have confidence in PF to run the Government and they voted for the PF, so if you push us, we shall de-register you,” he said.
Mr Kabimba was speaking during a PF provincial fundraising braii for the purchase of a vehicle for Kalulushi district at Mindolo Dam in Kitwe at the weekend.
Mr Kabimba, who is also PF secretary general, said that envoys accredited to Zambia do not
run the affairs of the country and therefore NGO’s that were being sponsored by other countries to form a parallel Government would be de-registered.
He said out of the K32 trillion 2013 budget, four percent was coming from donors and noted that economic independency was cardinal for the country.

Mr Kabimba also said the opposition parties would never assume power as Zambians have not forgotten the alleged corrupt tendencies in the MMD.
He said MMD president Nevers Mumba failed to run the church and abandoned his political party while the UPND only had the support from one region.
“We proved those that used to say, you cannot dislodge the ruling party from power, wrong because we won the elections and it is not an alliance that gives you victory but planning and hard work,” he said.

Remember by their very nature the NGO’s functions try to take up where government slacks off or seemingly fails. This is similar to churches that have to pick up the ethical gap each time government drops the ball. So, no, Mr. Kabimba – you cannot do anything to NGOs without exposing the deficiencies that are lurking in your functions. JUST GET ON WITH THE JOB…

My weekend wasn’t exciting, well not compared to most 27-year-olds’ weekends. At least I’m not ashamed to admit it, right?
I spent mine babysitting Nick’s sister ‘s 2 girls Carly and Claire and when I wasn’t doing that I was laying in bed watching X Factor repeat with my precious Mini Ipad needless to say it was so cold and snow did fall about 2 inches for all that has been reported
I Know Zambia only see snow on TV but I had to go out touch it and take pictures as I always do because it has become part of life for some of us to make a ‘snowMan’

It’s infuriating to see how many in political office are undeserving of the office they’re in. When you begin to label organizations for political gain threatens not only the work the NGO does but the prosperity of the country. How such self-serving people remain in office amazes me to an extent but I figure it’s largely because of the influence they have whilst in power that they are somewhat difficult to unseat. Among the people on this very forum is someone who would do well as a gov. official I think. One can hope.
