Patriotic Front Kabwata Member of Parliament Given Lubinda has been suspended from his party for six Months.
This is a unanimous resolution of the PF Central Committee that convened at State House this morning to determine Mr. Lubinda fate.
The suspension has however been back dated to 10th December, 2012, meaning that Mr. Lubinda will serve his suspension for three Months.
During the period of suspension, the Kabwata Member of Parliament will not be allowed to attend any party activities.
He was facing charges of treachery and disloyalty to the party.
Recently, Mr. Lubinda was demoted as Foreign Affairs Minister thereby relegated to the backbench in Parliament.

He has dared them to expel him and they grew cold feet. Youre just scared sh.it of losing Kabwata. It is not a rural seat and the PF hoodlums are scared of been embarrassed. Yours Truely believes the real issue in the Livingstone Violence is this chap Obvious Mwaliteta. Within two months he is connected to two deaths of PF cadres and in both cases it is Mwaliteta who is pinning the blame on the opposition. Something is strange here. Do you remember last month when his servant was found dead and bare foot by a roadside outside livingstone and this Mwalitate was quick to blame the opposition. Could it be that this recent death of Harrison Chanda was something that Mwaliteta Ochastrated. I think a good private detective needs to be hired by the UPND to get to the bottom of this Saga.

If it is true he betrayed the party then the punishment he has been given is very lenient actually. How can a senior party official be leaking classified information to the opposition.

The truth is we don’t really know what happened. This tendency to judge people in affairs you don’t have details of must stop. My suspicion is that Lubinda was being framed by Kabimba, and if Kabimba got cleared of corruption, which clearly he was guilty of, Kabimba lost the moral authority to victimise Lubinda in the manner he wanted things to go for Lubinda. One day we will come to know the real truth, and one day everybody will get their fair share of justice – Kabimba, GBM, and Lubinda. But to rush to judge Lubinda harshly just because he has been made to look bad is not only unfair but silly too.

The PF has exhibited maturity in handling internal conflict, the opposition should wise up & emulate instead of dragging the nation into unnecesarry by-elections.

I can wait for him, three months is around the corner, my question is…, which ministerial post have you lined up for him? if nothing then i ask him to form his new political party which in my view would be the only respectable opposition, i would offer free advice, no bad eggs or nuts would be allowed, no appointments based on tribe, pantu tuli ba lozi “eenisha”, pantu tuli ba tonga, “mabisi ba sa kamwamba”, pantu tuli ba bemba, dont kusumina and so on and so forth, on a personal not, reduce partying, abit of after work parties on a few fridays is not bad either.
As for the people calling for him to join other rotten opposition parties, i dont think so, why should he sink so low? better form his own which i would support and donate to if need be.

clever… knowing very well they’d lose in a by-election if Lubinda stood as an independent or on an opposition ticket they choose to suspend as opposed to expelling him from the party.

Though we are not privy to the details of thes offences Hon.Lubinda committed to the party. we appreciate the decision taken by the Central Committee of the party. Expelling erring members should only come about in extreme situations. For now we urge Hon.Lubinda to reflect and sober and ensures that the mistakes he made are not repeated. after suspension, we know he will bounce back as minister again.

Please Lubinda, take your time, do not rush, it is painful in African politics to be in opposition. You denied the nation chance to sample your leadership skills at government level. wise decision.Expulsion should not always be the first disciplinary measure.also goes to prove that he PF like(Proper Fathers) that they are are not the ones inducing bye elections.Sata is really a politician.The expulsions that UPND has esorted to wil just weaken them further.That was a very tactical decision which has left doomsayers in dust licking their wounds.
I like Given Lubinda. He is wise and has the common good at heart. I am happy that he is going to come back to the party. Even if he was found wanting I do not think it was for his personal agenda, probably it was for us the poor.
