UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema has urged the government to sort the out problems at University of Zambia-UNZA- that led to protests by students.
Mr Hichilema says it is important that governments attend to the demands of the students in good time.
He says what students are demanding is their entitlements.
Mr Hichilema was speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka attended by his special advisors, Douglas Siakalima and William Banda, UPND spokesperson, Charles Kakoma former Evelyn Hone College Journalism Lecturer, Clayson Hamasaka.
Mr Hichilema has also blamed the government for the shortage of mealie-meal in some parts of the country.
But Agriculture Minister Robert Sichinga said in Parliament this week that the country has enough maize stocks.
He attributed that shortage of mealie-meal to lack of capacity by millers.
And former MMD Lukulu West Member of Parliament Misheck Mutelo has defected to the UPND.
Mr Mutelo defected during the UPND press briefing.
Meanwhile, UPND campaign team in Livingstone has requested the Electoral Commission of Zambia to allow it distribute flyers to Livingstone residents since flyers are classified as print material.
UPND Livingstone Campaign Manager, Highvie Hamudud says flyers should be freely distributed because they are within the allowed print and electronic medium of campaigns allowed by the ECZ.
Paul Shalala reports from Livingstone that Mr Hamudud says there is no need for the ECZ to bar political parties in distributing flyers because the act can be done quietly without disturbing peace.
Meanwhile, Patriotic Front Media and Publicity Director Chanda Mfula says Livingstone is poised for more developmental projects in the coming months.
Speaking when he appeared on Falls FM radio last evening, Mr Mfula said the Patriotic Front Government will build a modern market, a modern bus terminus, a university, schools and roads in the tourist capital.
He has therefore asked the people of Livingstone to vote for PF candidate, Lawrence Evans on Thursday so that the named developmental projects can be effectively done.

On the question of mealie meal I believe the over-dependency on monopolistic milling and distribution systems should be discouraged.
