Former Economics Association of Zambia President Noel Nkhoma says he has no intentions of contesting the Chipata Central parliamentary bye election.

Reports have emerged that Mr. Nkhoma, an experienced banker has been approached by the UPND to contest the Chipata Central seat.

But in an interview in Lusaka, Mr. Nkhoma said there is no truth is such reports.

He said he had no intentions of joining politics.

He however revealed that some senior opposition figures he declined to mention had approached him offering him a ticket on their parties.

The Chipata Central parliamentary bye election will be held soon to fill the vacant created after the Supreme Court upheld a High Court’s decision to nullify the election of Reuben Mtolo Phiri of the MMD on grounds that the election was marred with irregularity.

  1. UPND appear to be in desperation mode. They are now approaching individuals, randomly, to join their party.

    • Will he stand as an independent? We were told that he is not a member of PF and I doubt if he will be adopted.

  2. why is every jim and jack refusing that no intentions to fyototo fyototo.Noel Nkhoma are u fit now .Ama ARV ati bwanji

    • Iwe Mavuzi, surely in this day and age you still find it strange that someone is on ART?!I bet you have not even gone for a test yourself,HIV/AIDS is here for now and learn to live with it.Do not discriminate against those who are living positively, anyone, including you,can contract it!

  3. leave my seat alone,i will fight
until the end of time,to hell with
winter kabimba i can even stand
as an independent and scoop the
    seat….

  4. Mavuzi is a stupid human being, if at all he’s one. Any person normal with proper brains knows that you are either infected or affected. Even he should have relatives on ARVs. Does he tease them!! *****ic thinking.
My advice to Tumfweko is that dont publish comments from pipo like Mavuzi
