New Zambia call-up Christopher Munthali is a doubt for the May 24 friendly against Namibia after sustaining a muscle injury in training at his club Nkana.
Coach Herve Renard on Friday named thecentral defender in his 24-member home-based team to face Namibia away in Windhoek on May 24.
Nkana coach Masautso Mwale confirmed on Saturday that Munthali limped off the training pitch on Thursday.
“He has a muscle problem so even at the national team they have to asses him” Mwale said.
The ex-junior international missed Nkana’s away league match against Nchanga Rangers on Saturday which Kalampa won 1-0 in Chingola.
Meanwhile, the team enters camp on Monday in Lusaka ahead of the Namibia friendly.
