The ruling PF in Lusaka Province has vowed to wipe out the opposition by 2016.

PF Lusaka Province Chairman Goodson Banda told a media briefing in Lusaka that the results of the Feira parliamentary bye election have shown that the opposition is becoming irrelevant by the day.

“By 2016, the opposition will be no more. Zambians have demonstrated that they don’t need opposition parties anymore, what Zambians want now is development,” Mr. Banda said.

Mr. Banda said the opposition will be no more by the time that goes to another general election in 2016.
“From the 12 seats in Lusaka, we now control 10, our friends in opposition only control 2, even in school, if a student gets 2% out of a possible 12%, that student could be said to be dull. So the opposition in Zambia is dull and Zambians have rejected them.”

He said the PF’s victory in Feira and other ward by elections is not surprising.

“We knew that we will trounce the opposition. Our language is development and their language is insults and Zambians are seeing what is going on.”

Mr Banda said the PF is now even more geared to go and beat the opposition in Kafulafuta, Solwezi East, Chipata Central, Sinazongwe, Mkushi and any other upcoming bye elections.

“People like HH (UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema) should be taught a lesson that arrogance in politics does not pay.

  1. Just put it in more straight forward terms ba PF ….say democracy, rule of law ,checks and balances will be exticnt by 2016.

    • CONGRATS PF. THOSE BOYS BA UPND NABA MMD, ABICE BALITUMPER BANYANTAMO NAMAKASA. KANO KUBASHISHER NGA TABA SHINDER.

  2. So you want the opposition to be extinct in a multi-party democracy?
Is that why you block them from having political rallies?
This shows how backward, undemocratic and uncivilised the PF is!

    • MWAICE WANDI EXTINCT CAN MEAN A LOT OF THINGS. THE OPPOSITION CAN BE EXTINCT IN TERMS OF RELEVANCY. IN FACT THATS WHAT THE RIGHTER MEANS. WHILE THE EDUCATED HH AND HIS LOVER NEVERS MUMBA DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE IMPLICATIONS OF SUBSIDIES THE FEIRA ‘VILLAGERS’ HAVE THE FULL KNOWLEDGE AND ARE IN AGREEMENT WITH PF’S REMOVAL OF SUBSIDIES. HENCE, THE VOTING FOR PF.

    • @ Peter what do you mean by ‘THE RIGHTER’?
Action speaks louder that words. The attitude of the PF towards other political parties speaks for itself. Banda was just confirming the ill intentions of PF.
Just a question for you Peter, if HH or Nevers were to suffer a heart attack, God forbid, can Sata take either of them abroad for medical treatment the way Mwanawasa did to him?
The PF is bringing a lot of hate to our politics and people like you always use demeaning and insulting language against others!
The PF has the chance to unite us but it seems you are losing it!

  3. Iwe Banda this is backward thinking! Aren’t we in a democracy or you surely want to drag us back to one party state? We need the opposition to “check” your abuse of power like you’re already doing. Remember every DOG has got its own day; even if there shall be no opposition by 2016, your time will come one day, don’t let power go to your head!

  4. Mr Banda, We are all pleased with the response from HH and Chipimo congratulating the ruling party and hoping they can do better. I guess they have to market themselves better as for the whole win its a pure demonstration of democracy that you probably don’t even understand.
Anyway I asked my Grade 5, 10 year old child to read your statement and they will use it at Christian Outreach college on the calibre of African leaders. he has said 2 out of 12 represents 16% so he purely cant understand your arithmetic. He says maybe you were jokingly telling the country you are dull yourself.
Can I give you his cell number please? he will explain how he worked it out. I myself don’t venture into semantics of calling people dull because I may expose myself like you Sir.
    Have a nice day

    • Man you have not read what he said. He said getting 2% out of 12%. Not 2 out of 12. So who is dull you or banda? I think its that person who rash to comment without reading.

  5. wat a leadership we ve. hw honestly can sm1 in leadership utter such nonsense even 2 de extent of calling 4 a press briefing. 2 me, de results of de jst ended feira parliamentary by-election shows hw fed up pipo ve bcome wen it comes 2 dere participation in voting. wit widespread voter apathy exhibited, it tells a story n wetha loser or victorious a lot stl needs 2 b done in ensuring dat de electorate are motivated 2 fully exercise their rights 2 vote.

  6. Banda’s statement seems plain language but can mean a lot. Just like the proverbial campaign message of in 90 days we shall do this and that. Proverbial messages are difficult to decipher because they have hidden meaning. Those who are stuck with 90 days to really mean 90 days have deceived themselves. Thats why in this political football the skipper Sata is too good for the opposite defender. They have failed to mark him and he is easily dribbling past their defences and ever scoring. The opposition can’t even see meanings of deceptive tactics and actions. This Banda is not telling you that we shall get rid of opposition, he is simply telling the opposition to mark this amazing striker who is ever scoring in their goal. Come on, abamano baliyakwata.

  7. Sata is too good for the current calibre of opposition. Too good, too smart, too clever. The man is amazing! It never came easy he earned it over years and years. Its difficult for a political under-five to understand what he knows and does. He is a political genius! He wears all faces of a winner. Watch the lips of opposition and you will notice the great difference. If you can’t spot the difference, you have to learn again the paper 1 puzzles.

    • Floyd, you’re insulting the president by calling him those things. Please! Let’s be respectful of our leaders by speaking the truth about their actual calibre!!

    • @dudelove, I can’t yet see it differently. I have critically observed the man over the years, not only today, but for many years. This man Sata has excellent organisational skill than the opposition combined. And he has charisma. My comments are out of respect for this man and his abilities. Do not expect an outlier to defeat this competent man, forget about your feelings but just reason, the man is has what it takes to mobilise others. He can indeed even mobilise the nation, at least the majority, and bring the development we need in Zed. Give him another two years and we shall see better things. He is a dynamic personality, practically.

  8. Sata is too smart for the opposition? I don’t know. I bet most people voted for him because they thought he would be a man of action as he has always been before he became president, not necessarily that he is a genius.
How can a genius attempt to stifle dissent and seek to annihilate the opposition in a multi-party democracy when he himself was once in the opposition? He is supposed to understand the role of the opposition better!

  9. We want continuity of democracy in our country not that way of thinking Mr. Banda predicting one party. Just be happy that you have won the seat.

  10. irresponsible statement . Democracy must be allowed to thrive. Zambia does not need an induced one party state again. We moved away from that and will never go back there again. never.

  11. From the least (councillor) to the greatest (president),their lives are ruled by greed. From prophets (ministers) to priests (deputy ministers) they are all frauds. They offer superficial treatments for people,s mortal wound. They give assurances of peace when there is no peace. Are they ashamed of their disgusting actions? Not at all-they dont even know how to blush! JEREMIAH 6:13-15

  12. Dream on Banda. What you are prophesing wont happen.Continue your poaching but Zambians are’nt stupid. With GOD on our side satan and all his motives will be destroyed. What an insult to Zambians! What of multiparty democracy?GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

  13. It is so easy to profile this Floyd Chitalu. End of the road 65yr old bolding man stuck in a foreign country with no future. Go back home and ask for a job from your uncle Sata and stop boring us with songs of praise for this lacklustre performance of a pretend government. Take a back sit and listen to people like Cat Power who read between lines and stimulate our thinking capacity than this KK deluded thinking of yours! How can you in your normal thinking tell us we have a genius of a leader in Zambia. Where do you hail from? How can Banda who thinks getting 2 out of 12 equates to 12% be of any substance to bringing positive change and stop this boat from further blind sailing? Do something positive and we will praise you. We are not hell bent on politics of ‘tribe’ a derogative term!

    • Don’t worry. LT is unlike the other online Newsprint where they block you. Just write your way, just avoid insulting other people. There is nothing to gain in insults. Just propound your reasoning, man. The sky is the limit or is the limit oneself at LT. They are very considerate. Just respect others when you blog.

you comment yourselves then…this site is becoming boring with all this censorship – free your minds and let it flow otherwise it defeats the whole objective of free speech. Nowhere in the statement I was trying to post will you see any insults or unpleasant remarks but just poking that Floyd Chitalu for boring us with archaic and pre colonial thinking.

    • @Confused, I know what you mean. Recently, I was trying to post something which had nothing unpleasant but it was still somehow blocked. I don’t understand. Indeed they should start commenting themselves!

  18. Opposition in Zambia means blocking everything the government does whether good or bad. Remember how mumba threatened to shoot down the budget? I would rather we have a weak opposition than a weak Government.

  19. How can Banda who thinks getting 2 out of 12 equates to 12% be of any substance to bringing positive change and stop this boat from further blind sailing? Do something positive and we will praise you. We are not hell bent on politics of ‘tribe’ a derogative term 4 nigaz everywhere than the tribes in the jungle themselves. Stop calling yourselves tribes! That term is divisive and has all the connotation of being as derogative as being called group of gibberish monkeys on the march to a field of maize.
Here is a profile of Floyd: A balding 65year end of the road man stuck in a foreign country singing praises for Sata for taking the country on a wild goose chase with no golden egg in sight.

  20. Ba confused.com, copy write, copy left, copy up, copy down, even in the name you use. It must be confusion there!

  21. For sure this opposition we have now is so useless. It just opposes blindly.

Peace and Prosperity to mother Zambia.

  22. Mr Banda,we have been telling them(oppo)but because ,”tupumbu”,they have no understanding. Banaitaya. What a weak opposition who have tried to enrol in Chilufya Micheal’s school of politics but have only proved extremely retards 2 b in it.

  23. @confused.com, I am not that old. But I know you copied that name of yours, confused.com. Don’t just copy things be original. Where did you copy that am 65yrs? There is sure confusion in you. Whether I stay in zed or abroad it does not bother me. Where I lay my head that my home. I am doing good man. Its about my short life on earth. Enjoy it with the best of my abilities. Get more comfusion as you support the wrong candidates because you are confused

  24. Ka-HH is arogant. The man is unsaleable like a piece of beef that has been embalmed with aromatic aldehyde that pipo can’t take for fear of developing cancer
