KABWATA member of Parliament Given Lubinda has distanced himself from media reports that he was mocking dismissed Southern Province PF provincial secretary Brian Hapunda in his email to him.

Mr Lubinda said it is common knowledge that we are living in an environment where people enjoy pouring scorn at each other but he is not in the habit of doing so.

He said this in Lusaka yesterday at Amaka Lodge when he officiated at a Charity Fundraising breakfast organised by St Simon Small Christian Community (SCC).

Mr Lubinda who is also Kabwata member of Parliament said his email to Mr Hapunda was done in good faith urging him to thank God for President Sata’s leniency in ending at dismissing him when he could have been handed over to the police.

“I believe The Post Journalist that got a hold of my email must have thought I am hitting back at Mr Hapunda for scorning me at the time I was being accused of leaking information to opposition members of Parliament. He probably thought I was jumping at an opportunity to revenge,” he said.

He said it is not good for anyone to rejoice when another is going through adversity, especially a young man like Mr Hapunda who is in the morning of his political career.

Mr Lubinda said it is not his wish to mock anyone but to uplift others when they are down.

Meanwhile Mr Lubinda said he has instructed the Lusaka City Council (LCC) to allocate the front of NATSAVE to the expansion of Chilenje Clinic.

He said 7 years ago when some people had applied for the land in front of NATSAVE, he refused and he is happy today that he did so because the land can now be used to upgrade the clinic in order for the community to have quality health care.

Mr Lubinda also said he is happy that in the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for this year, money has been allocated for the construction of four new health centres in his constituency.

In his address, he told the people most of who are from St Simon and its surrounding community that he is pleased that the church is working towards giving back to the community by raising funds to buy medical equipment.

“We owe it to ourselves to provide good medical care for each other,” he said.

He also implored churches asking for donations to do it through their Priests in order for the request to be considered official.

And church representative Abel Watsema said Christianity is about caring for one another.

Mr Watsema said the works of a Christian must not end at the church door but should be evident in our day to day lives.

He said the proceeds of the fundraising venture will go towards purchase of medical equipment which will be donated to Chilenje Clinic Level 1.

  1. The Post has stopped selling. They hope putting GIVEN LUBINDA on the headline and subsequent follow-ups will help them sale for the period. It will not work. Gl – Remain resolute.

Mmembe and Kabimba know they have lost there battle against you on the next PF Presidency. Remain firm, time is near.

  2. stop comforting yourselves, even if Lubinda became the president of PF, PF can not go to bed with UPND. so forget campaigning for Lubinda!!!

    • Who says PF needs to merge with any other party. The PF just needs to put it’s house in order and Wynter Kabimba has lamentably failed to provide leadership in the party.

  3. WELL WRITTEN LUBINDA, KEEP IT UP, NEVER REVENGE AND DON’T FOLLOW OTHER PF CADRES?? OR OTHER MPs WITH THE BRING DOWN SYNDROME. THEIR TIME WILL COME AND WILL BE A TEST TO THEIR ABILITIES. IT’S A SHAME THAT PF HAS BEEN REDUCED TO A HOPELESS PARTY BECAUSE MOST ZAMBIANS HAD HIGH HOPES OF THE BOAT TO DELIVER… HOPE WE SEE CHANGE.

  4. The PF needs a clear minded and level headed Secretary General (CEO), someone that can stand up and tell Sata what people are saying.

It’s high time we changed the Secretary General in PF, and put Lubinda there. I will not hesitate to campaign and ensure Given Lubinda gets when that happens. He commes out as a Leader this Country needs at the moment.

  5. This is the guy who celebrated the begining of RB’s persecution in the most flamboyant manner. Announcing he would have a gin and tonic after a flawed immunity removal process says a lot about the chap. Not even the people who moved the motion showed such excitment at someone else’s predicament. I don’t think this chap is the saint some people make him out to be. We need to be more critical in assessing leadership qualities of these chaps to avoid 2011 mistakes.

  6. Bo Lubinda you owe no one an appology, you dont even have to explain to anyone, some people are so bitter they will twist every word that comes from you.

  7. “He said 7 years ago when some people had applied for the land in front of NATSAVE, he refused ……”

In what capacity did he do so? I’m sure he’s a great guy as you guys say. Just that I think the assumption that one is the authority on everything leads to problems.

  8. This man does not learn. Why continue to send emails when you know very well that most of the ones you have sent to fellow cadres have landed you in trouble both. What happened to just keeping quiet?

  9. So who leaked the email to the Post? In my view only 3 possibilities – Lubinda or Hapunda or whoever Hapunda forwarded the email to as FYI. I have discounted the Post or media in general having the tools to decipher other people’s emails unless possibly “red brick” which would be a waste of allocated resources. Whatever the case this is boring stuff and not worthy of news

  10. Kikikiki! The way some people are going about lubinda, very funny.the man is just as arrogant as kabimba besides he does not even qualify to be president odmd
