24-year-old Jordan Chipangama will run in the men’s Marathon that will be held on the penultimate day of the Championships on August 17 staring at 13:30 Moscow time.

The heats in that event begin on August 10 at 08h00 Moscow time.

19-year-old Yvonne Nalishuwa is Zambia’s sole 100 meters runner in the women’s category

  1. What about Gerald Phiri? where is he. Hes the only dependable Zambian athlete and there you go you snub him. Corruption yamu zed

  2. Unless Zambians are still behind in Track and Field, leaving Gerald Phiri was a mistake because he just ran 10.00 though wind aided on June 1st, 2013 meaning he was rounding back to shape. Taking a young lady who may not even get past the first round of heats, at the expense of an athlete that has reached semi finals in 100m at the 2012 Olympics and the last World Championships on 2011, is doing a disservice to the country and our young male sprinter who trains with the cream of american sprinters in Floridah. You don’t take children to an adult’s competition. This was a very bad call because he should have been the wild card since he ran better than the IAAF qualifying standard of 10.21 seconds. We need to be serious with our sports if we expect better results.

    • Coachez….
While I appreciate your comments, I wish to disgree with you “19yr olds aren’t children” Maybe in this case lack of fund forced them to give chance to the young lady as an upcoming althletic.

    • U just made my day @mp though thats a big possibility. Key runners left but enough officials to escort the 3 and they will probably stay longer to ‘witness the event and strategise for the future’. Good comment mp, i think i will vote for u again

  3. Ha ha ha I heard on Muvi Tv news that Mpondela has already travelled to Moscow with his girl friend leaving behind ZAAA officials
