Muntari-We are ready for Zambia

Share

Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari says The Black Stars are ready to end their recent agonising run against Zambia on September 6 in their final 2014 World Cup Group D qualifier in Kumasi.

Ghana need at least a point to advance to the final playoff qualifying stage while Zambia must win to reach the last 10.

“We want to go to Brazil and we are focused on qualifying,” he told
FIFA.COM.

“We are committed to that goal. We are ready for them and we want to make it big this time.

“They have troubled us for a long time, they have given us sleepless nights.”

Zambia have beaten Ghana in the two teams’ last meetings that came last year.

Zambia defeated Ghana 1-0 in the first leg fixture in Ndola in June, 2012 and by the same margin in the 2012 Africa Cup semifinals in Bata.

  1. Muntari that world cup place is yours to lose as I don’t see Renard winning an away match especially in Kumasi..even if you played 10 men!!

  2. I know it will be tough in ghana, especially knowing the animalish behaviour of west africans. However, Renard knows them inside-out, that my best bet.

  3. I am waiting for the match to take place on September 6th. Both teams will have a football to battle with and the most important thing for Zeddian, is to do what you do best giving Ghanaians sleepless nights… Ghana knows you are not a push over Go get them boys..

  4. I hope zambia loses the game so we can all get back to building schools, roads and and taking care of our awfully dirty urban centers. This is the stuff that really matters.

  5. The game will be a formality that’s y it will be played on Friday night so that on sunday 8th sept Ghana play a friendly match against Japan.

  6. The pressure is on Ghana. Zambia stands a better chance of showing the doubting Thomases that Zambia is a team like any other, the place to go to Brazil is not guaranteed for Ghana, it is up for grabs. They should not cheat themselves for anything is possible in the game of football. How I wish I could meet the entire Ghana team and interview them after the game. For Zambia, starting with FAZ, the technical bench and players, never be affected by these psychological statements, African teams are all vulnerable to each other and so, this is our chance.
To Lenard, forget about the target of thinking about leaving Zambia, you are a Zambia and we need you that is why we brought you back. Go Z Go.

  7. When we trot on the pitch as underdogs we upset tables….Ghana’s Black stars watchout for the Black Cats, yes the copper bullets!

  8. With Renard as coach I dont see how Zambia can qualify. The chap doesnt even have confidence in his players. After the Ghana game whether win or lose Renard must go.

  9. We are not underdogs against Ghana. Come on, we have beaten the twice in our two last meetings. We will beat them again. I believe in the boys.

  10. Essien’s was more threat than Munthari’s, Ghana is Finished believe me everyone as it is they have a terrible fever.
    Take them out.
They have failed us at World cups lets try Bullets.

  11. Lets just wait and see how it will pan out on 6th September in Kumasi. Muntari once said if Zambia win in Kumasi, he will walk the streets of Kumasi naked and the question is will he do that if it really happens?

  12. “They have troubled us for a long time, they have given us sleepless nights.”This shows alot of pressure on the Ghanain side.Should Zambia score first, that will be the end of the Ghanain dream because from the look of things, they are very much affected psycologically.

As for Zambia, the main reason I am beting on them is Inconsistence. Its only Zambia that can beat a big team but only to lose or draw with teams like lesotho. So its because of inconsistence that Zambia will perfom and get the disired results.

  13. I dont know,if only we start playing it safe by making sure we take each game seriously by reaping full points, then we stop playing under pressure but then zambians enjoy pressure…… thats football!

  14. @4 Mwenye Phiri, Could you please define “Animalist Behaviour” You’ve made me laugh, but unfortunately dont understand the exact meaning.

  15. Muntari thinks he is the only one ready. We are also ready for Ghana. Muntari will be reminded of what a great footballing nation Zambia is, when we beat Ghana in Kumasi this September. We are not afraid of anybody. Bring them on! This is Zambia, Baba. The Mighty Bullet will shoot down all the little black stars. Go Zambia! Go! Let’s do it again!

  16. Without the Ayew brothers, I don’t see any other Ghanaian player that can cause trouble for the Zambian defence. With a good game plan we can beat Ghana in their backyard. Score early and pack the bus, SIMPLE. My money is on CHIPOLOPOLO.

    • Ghana don’t play stars like Zambia remember the Ayew Bros boygotted before and the black stars still performed now that the world cup place in their sights…all these foreign based players want a joyride to Brazil.

  17. Ghana wil fall ,that’s my belief .muntari its a shame u hav sleeples 9ts wen u hav nt yet lost nw if u loss, hang ur self, bullets 4 brasil

  18. Renard and your coaching staff let these Muntaries do the talking as you concentrate plotting how best you will make them face down after solid 90 minutes. Gone are the days when football was dominated by West African States. With the conducive environment, bets selection of the team, good motivation, good instructions to the boys, psychological preparation done thru and thru, believe me everything will equal your white shirt. You have transformed the boys into a formidable side feared by the once continental giants. We do not care how many they will be inside the stadium giving them support, our part is to do the business. Each and every player should take the responsibility and die for mother Zambia. We are with you. Go Z Go.
