Three children from the same family have died in an inferno.
The children aged between 5 and 7 died this morning around 01:15 hours in Chibombo district after a candle was left burning in the room they were sleeping.
Zambia Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Rae Hamoonga said property worth K1, 500.00 was also destroyed in the process.
Mr. Hamoonga said the bodies of the deceased were burnt beyond recognition and as such no postmortem was done.
He said the children have since been buried and no foul play has been suspected.
Meanwhile, Police have arrested a 27 year old man in Chipata Compound by the name of Paul Mulenga for allegedly having murdered his 22 year old wife Emma Mwale.
The suspect is said to have beaten his wife after a marital dispute on 3rd December, 2013 around 23:00 hours.
Mr. Hamoonga said the deceased sustained internal body injuries and was rushed to Chipata Clinic where she was admitted and later died.
He said the suspect is in Police custody and has been charged with Murder contrary to section 200 of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia and will appear in court soon.
Mr. Hamoonga said the body of the deceased is lying in Chipata Clinic Mortuary awaiting postmortem.

Fellow citizens if u are planning to go far from home living yo kids at home dont buy them candle.

These incidents have become rampant.There is need for the police to carry out thoroughly investigations because they are too many broken homes.Some heartless single parents can deliberately burn there children due to the fact that they lack financial support .Don’t always concentrate on cases where your hands are oiled.
