The United Party for National Development (UPND) is unhappy with the manner in which the PF Government is arresting journalists.
We believe that journalists have a duty to inform the public on what is happening in society and should not be harassed or persecuted for carrying out their duties.
We demand that the tramped up charges against Mr. Richard Sakala and other journalists should be dropped immediately and unconditionally.
The charges are meant to suppress peoples’ freedom of expression and media freedom.
We would like to challenge the police and government to state how the recruitment exercise in the Zambia Police Service is being done and whether the various laws and regulations governing the recruitment of the Police Officers are being followed. That is what the public wants to know and not the arrest of journalists.
The arrests of the journalists and the FODEP Executive Director McDonald Chipenzi should force us all to redouble our efforts to fight for genuine press freedom and repeal of all laws that inhibit the enjoyment of media freedoms.

The whole judiciary and the police are totally under his control right now. Before the police arrest any high profile individual or judges pass any judgement involving profile individuals, they must seek authorisation from Sata.
Did you hear him applaud the panga intra-party fights as a symbol of the PF party being alive? Any sane leader could have condemned these thugs to teach them a lesson. But no he praised them instead.

To give you an Idea this happened when Kabimba was summoned by the ACC to exculpate himself from the corruption allegation levelled against him by one GBM. Do you honestly think what Kabimba did to go and intimidate the ACC officers with his PF cadres was right?

Has Sata died yet?
My only worry is how this country shall be 30 years to come that is if Jesus does not come now. There is a lot of hatred and fighting in Zambia today. We need total redemption, where will this redemption come from? May God help Zambia.
How do we want to leave this country for our children? Look at the father, mother, grand parent, girl/boy child going to that power government school, is there any hope for him/her any more? Will there be any affordable education for our children? Will they be able to put decent food on their tables?
