African Boxing Union (ABU) female bantamweight champion Catherine Phiri is ranked 11th by the Womens International Boxing Association for the month of December.
WIBA is the regarded as women’s boxings most respected sanctioning body.
The latest ranking released on December 26 sees Catherine drop one place from 10th at year’s end.
The ABU champion last fought on September 28 when she beat Ugandan Hawa Daku Babirye for the then vacant ABU bantamweight title.
Babirye is currently ranked 36th on the WIBA rankings.
Catherine is also unbeaten from seven professional fights.
Meanwhile, Catherine’s opponent in her January 25 WBC silver bantamweight title Nadia Hokmi of France is at number three on the WIBA rankings.
Hokmi, 36 is currently the WBF women’s bantamweight world champion.
She has 20 wins, six loses and one draw heading into her WBC fight with Catherine next month.
