The 2014 local football season kicks off on Saturday with semifinals of the Samuel “Zoom” Ndhlovu Charity Shield involving Nkana, Zesco United, Nchanga Rangers and Red Arrows in Kitwe.
Zesco takes on Arrows in the lunch time kickoff first semifinal at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
This will be Arrows’ first match since the club suspended head coach George Lwandamina recently.
On the other hand, Zesco clash against Arrows as they continue searching for their first victory in 2014.
The Ndola side lost five consecutive pre-season friendlies in January.
Meanwhile, 2013 Super League champions Nkana clash against Nchanga in the 15h00 kick off second semifinal at Arthur Davies Stadium.
Kalampa are expected to continue their dominance over Nchanga – a team they defeated twice in the 2013 league campaign.
Nchanga are starting life after the departure of key players among them keeper Rabson Mucheleng’anga who is at Nkana, Alex Ng’onga, Felix Nyaende and Billy Mutale.
