Sunzu fires Sochaux to victory

Share

Stopilla Sunzu on Saturday propelled struggling Sochaux to a 1-0 win over Nantes.

Sunzu, who played his fourth successive 90 minutes in Ligue 1, scored Sochuax vital win in the 45th when he headed in a Sébastien Roudet set-piece.

The goal was Sunzu’s first for Sochaux since joining the French Ligue 1 club in January on a Euro 1 million deal from DR Congo club TP Mazembe.

Saturday’s results saw coach Herve Renard pick up his second Ligue 1 win since taking charge of Sochaux in October after quitting as Zambia coach.

And Sunzu’s compatriot and striker Emmanuel Mayuka started the match before he was substituted in the 75th minute.

Meanwhile, Sochaux remain in the bottom three relegation zone in second from bottom place in 19th place despite their win over 8th placed Nantes.

  1. Well done to Sunzu…but whats happening to our young man ‘Yuka’? After having such a promising start there. Anyway, hung in there..not all hope is lost.

  2. Well done my man. This win is the beginning of the fight and a much needed moral booster.
You and the team can survive this relegation battle. I am behind you!!!!

  3. I watched the match the guys played their hearts out.Sunzu looks like he is settling in well in that team.I hope they will survive relegation.

  4. I hope renard continues to expose the Zambian football talent especially the young to reach greater heights in the sport….sunzu Gods time is the best, continue working hard as I know..

    • Why should he do that? Why don’t you develop systems that expose young talent than forever hoping for handouts; your friends in Senegal have created partnerships with some French clubs.

  5. CHI JO that was not a lucky goal what do you mean watch. A free kick cross and Sunzu out-jumped the opposite side’s defend and you are calling that as a lucky goal. That’s how john terry scores, Kompany” from man city and even evra from the depleted manutd

  6. @ 1.1 Jo- Why this Zambian “Pull him down syndrome” ??
Did you watch the game? I did, & that was NOT a lucky goal. Sunzu played & defended Well, & deserved that Goal as he ran towards it, jumped the highest before nodding it in.
Please STOP this pull me down jealous Syndrome.
I’m very sure if the scorer was White, You wouldn’t be saying, that was a lucky Goal
    GROW UP!!!!
In the meantime enjoy your weekend.

  7. Good goal from a dead ball…I hope the bigger clubs in the league spot him like PSG or Manaco as he is wasting his talent undet the PE teacher.

    • Did you start your schooling in year 5?
Everything has time. Its unfortunate that you NEVER played soccer during PE. A child crawls and then walk, later, runs, no short cuts.
Sunzu will attempt to build his career there, if he steps up his mind and game, who knows, he might even go to Germany or England.
Support your mates and country for once, at least Sunzu is doing great financially, trained so well by your illusionary “PE” teacher. Not bad at all, a goal in 4 matches by new Zambian player in France should be supported.
When will you stop pushing down sports people like Sunzu?

    • So all the sudden now your HR is a genius. ..really laughable I have absolutely no time to engage In debates with emotional bootlicking bloggers who are void of facts. You go and look at the French league table.

    • @JayJay
Nonsense analysis! Did Renard,Sunzu, Sinkala and Mayuku find their club leading the league? Sometimes, its best to maintain your silence if you have nothing sensible to say. Frequency of blogging doesn’t entail intelligence. Space waster!

    • Why do you want to put the manager and the players in the same group? All of sudden you are now a Schoaux fan I have no issue with the Zambian players in fact I wish them the best especially those on loan so they can get permanent contracts elsewhere.
When your PE teacher Renard accepted that job with that club, it was in the relegation zone so he assumed he could turn it things around forgetting his limitations.

    • It seems you have nothing sensible to contribute, apart from your illusions of being a ” bootlicking blogger” yourself.
The synopsis of the avalanche is Sunzu’s goal, their position on the ladder is your own problem, deal with it.
Only Satan is not emotional, otherwise, I stand with facts of the matter. Remain primitive by your unsubstantiated accusations against my support for Sunzu’s goal.
For you everything is debate, learn to accept factuality’s of life not just yapping anyhow.
Wondering when your malicious libel of Sunzu will eventually cease?
      Shalom.

    • Are you delusional? What malicious libel of Sunzu? If anything I’m congratulating the boy as it speaks volumes about his capabilities for him being the only player on the score sheet who happens to be a central defender.
I highly doubt it if you know anything about football maybe English Literature but certainly not football.

    • Let this Jay Jay eat nothing else but his jealousy. He cant see anything good in Zambian soccer. Anything to do with Zambia is horrible for him. For him Renard is only bad because he coached Zambia when they won the Africa Cup. He will go to the corners of the universe to get reasons that deny Renard and Kalusha’s role in that victory. His hate for Kalusha would bring a piece of meat in his mouth to cook.

    • @Libizo laka……..
It seems you are a new to LT if you follow my posts closely you would be astonished to discover that I’m a staunch supporter of our boys and under the right conditions they would probably be the best national on the continent & would be playing in Brazil this year. I refuse to support blindly like yourself who worship personalities at the expense of grass roots football development. I refuse to seat on my hands and pretend all is well when our football management is rotten with corruption & heavily dependant on poor taxpayers. For how long are we going to continue to financially support Faz? Why are most associations self sufficient & Faz isn’t?
If you call this jealousy then I’ll take it as compliment.
By the Wake up & pull the wool off your eyes Chipolopolo…

    • Jay Jay Iam not new I just dont blog. Even when Zambia won the Nations Cup u never praised them. All was well then but u conspicuously went underground obviously to dig for reasons why this victory wasn’t because of Kalusha or Renard.
“Why are most associations self sufficient and FAZ isnt?” u say. I say show me which association is self sufficient in Africa? SAFA which just hosted the most profitable World Cup here is embroiled in a scandal. They are broke despite receiving millions from FIFA.
And u expect a tiny country like Zambia to have a profitable soccer industry? Stop dreaming yes Wake up! pull that wool off your eyes! Or if u are a man just come and stand for the FAZ presidency so we can see you bringing soccer millions past Nigeria, South Africa Morocco Egypt and into…

    • So by your assertion if SAFA is filled with corrupt officials then its virtually impossible for smaller FAs to succeed.
If at all you understand the economics of hosting the World cup you wouldn’t have given that example; hosting the world cup is more profitable to the Fifa than it is to the hosts in monetary terms. Its even more lucrative for them in emerging markets as they are able to negotiate bigger chunks for themselves.
I hate to be the barrier of bad news but that 2012 cup was a fluke any football analysis will agree to this fact…call me unpatriotic but its the truth.

    • So long as FAZ is bankrolled by the Ministry of Sports using poor taxpayer’s funds at the expense of front line services it makes me a stakeholder by default…I refuse to seat on my hands and just be a clueless cheerleader especially that most of our problems happen to be administrational.
On the subject of winning what ever happened to the million dollar prize money from AFCON 2012 why dont you ask your idol next time you bump into him in RSA instead of being starstruck.

  8. @ CHristine’s Health Shop
    -how stup1d are you?
-you want to run a business on stolen advert space?
-we’ll sue your stup1d business and make take all your medicine in one swallow
-why can’t you pay for advert space from the editor if you are genuine business?

  9. Aini bachristine, natuma stolen advert, digraced from the actual story. we are talking about Sunzu’s score. Remember, the last penalty he scored against invory coast. Sunzu is the man! go boys and conquoer the world. if Nigeria did it why cant we?

  10. LT will be sued for FALSE reporting , SOCHAUX lost 1-0 and Its SUNZU who scored an OWN GOAL, please get your facts right before exposing your ignorance. Mayuka did not even feature, he was drunk on the match day hence no show for the match.

  11. Anyoko@ 14, Be very careful of the “cigarettes” you are smoking,
They are not only illegal, but may be very hazardous to your brain.
Once you’ve had a proper detox, stay well country -person!

  12. @Libizo laka thanks for trying to pump some sense into this Jay Jay. its however a futile effort. The guy suffers from renardkalushaphobia a disease discovered 2 years ago and attacking the likes of Simata Simataa and Kamanga. Patients exhibit symptoms of hysterical laughter when Chipolopolo loses. when sociaux wins they become enraged dash to the nearest computer to vent their anger repeatedly issuing the wake up command. This wake up command may sound like it’s meant for the reader. Nay its just them trying to wake themselves up as they see a Sochaux or Chipolopolo victory as a nightmare

  13. Mayuka should be ashamed its a dangerous situation when defenders start coming up front to score it means the club has no strikers what HR shud do is to fire Mayuka and buy Nigerian/ Ghanian players to save his job otherwise these mayuka chaps that Kalusha keeps on pushing to clubs he does not deserve will cost HR’s job eventually
