Lwandamina targets to finish job in Ndola

Coach George Lwandamina says Zesco United are now targeting a win in the return leg after Sunday’s goalless draw against Ferroviaro da Beira in the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup, first round, first leg tie in Mozambique.

Zesco must beat Ferroviaro in the return leg at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola this Saturday to advance to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Lwandamina said the away scoreless draw was not a bad result.

“A scoreless draw in the first leg away from home is not a bad result,” he said.

But Lwandamina rued the scoring opportunities his side missed in Beira.

“We had have studied Ferroviaro’s style of play and we are now looking at nothing but a win at home in the return match,” Lwandamina said.

“We had nine chances that we failed to convert into goal, but all in all I am impressed with the mental preparedness of my boys,” he said.

Lwandamina added:”We were infortunate to have wasted a lot of opportunities that could have materialised into goals.”

  1. Badly written article – I suppose this was not a press statement, but an interview, for if it was the former, it would have been in order to excuse the coach for such kind of grammatical errors!
