  9. Too bad.

He was a terrific man and I enjoyed every encounter with him during the Chizongwe Former Students Association (CHIZFOSA) meetings

  10. SUCH a GREAT SHAME!!!

RIP. We have lost a practical and hardworking man so easily!!!

    Condolences to the family!!

  11. Let us not accept death too easily like that. For a person who had money to die at age 46 we need to investigate. Differentials – rule out HIV (i doubt very much but posible), non communicable diseases such as Myocardial infarction, diabetis, heart failure (most likely). my advise to you as we mourn this gallant guy, let us also use our money and education to take care of our lives: regular exercises, wholesome food, regular check ups instead of being stressed chasing targets.

    • Mwana exercise controlled food intake or not when God says its time Kulibe ku talika. God chose to take him now we do not know why. We just have to thank God for the time we had with jeremiah and look forward to meeting him when our time comes. May his soul rest in eternal peace. condolescences to the family.

    • I totally agree with. One product that must be removed from our diets is sugar.Don’t be cheated with the juices on sale ,they are full of sugar.Read the package before you drink.check yhe amount of glycemic sugar and salt.
If you are over 40,have a complete medical check up at least once a year.
Brisky walking is fine if you don’t want to expose your pot belly but be careful not to walk near the Zambian roads.

  12. Shocking indeed, Mr Phiri hosted the dove national conference only last week on Monday and Tuesday 10th and 11th attended by over 300 people and now he is gone. MHSRIP

  13. Mr. Jeremiah’s death is a big blow to the ICT Sector, friends and family. He had a warm heart towards everyone around him, we’ll certainly miss him..
    M.H.S.R.I.P.

  14. MHSRIP. Too sad has died at a young age.i was trained by him how to operate Dove payroll, which i operated for seven year during my stay at safetech.

  15. In a country with poor health facilities, this kind of preventable loss is the order of the day.

I have talked to a doctor and this sounds like a ‘stroke’ ie ‘weakness and suddenly failing to drive’. Now in a country with descent medical facilities, his blood pressure or whatever the cause would have been monitored, if there was a clot in the brain attempts would have been made to remove it or dissolve it and improve the chance of his survival. MHSRIP

  16. There is nothing bad any one can say about this man. Infact how will one start. The man lived a very clean life through hard work. No shoddy deals or joining this and that political party to survive or becoming a hard core supporter of this or that. A creative youthful man. If you want to learn about being creative, inovative learn fron this man. Found and developer of one of the most used Human resource and payroll in Zambia. It is my prayer that the people who worked with him will not fail him. MHSRP

  17. Heard of the man’s warmness and entreprenual ability through a friend who had woprked with him and was inspired by him. I did not know him at all but from what I have heard he is deserving of the tribute; THERE GOES A MAN, WHEN COMES SUCH ANOTHER?…MHSRIP

  18. My condolences to the family.
We’ll always remember Mr. Jeremiah smiling and being jolly all the time!!! Yes he’s gone too early we may say but God knows why he’s gone now…he’s lived and fulfilled his purpose in life…..are we fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives??? He’s gone to be with God..that’s the most important thing.

Praying for God’s strength to his widow and kids.

  19. I am really impressed with the tributes from bloggers. Though I didn’t know him personally, you can tell from what people have written that he was a good man. My prayers and thoughts with his family.

  20. My Dear Jeremiah, the Nyampinga Boy from Petauke, Former Head Boy at Chizongwe in 1986 who obtained six points to meritoriously qualify to do A levels at Mpelembe were you came out best and was sponsored to pursue Software Engineering studies in the UK, you chose to come back to Zambia and shortly after the demise of ZCCM went solo and set up one of the most successful software developing company in Zambia- Dove Payroll.

What can I say? After inspiring all of us who came after you, you were very smart and brilliant and you lived a life full of distinction.

Go well my brother Jeremiah Phiri, Go well “till we meet again” “TIWI TIWI” (Tikakufwaneni Muluteluweme)

May the Good Lord Comfort your Family andMay Your Soul Rest In Peace.

  21. these short illness deaths in Zambia are very common. There is need to find out what these illnesses are and find ways to prevent them. Could it be in food we eat imported from China or the medicine we are taking from China and America. My uncle died same way 2 days illness. Sad development indeed. Diabetes and High blood pressure could be more common. Remember Nshima is Carbs and one needs to exercise every day. no eat and sleep everyday and drive in the morning and sit at work. exercise this is sad

    • Mwana refer to my comment above, exercise all you want, go for medical check ups, and eat the right foods, but when ‘GOD SAYS ITS TIME’ all these attempts at prolonging life are futile. As our sister has said above ours is only to live for god and do his will so that on the day he demands our soul we will be ready are you?

  22. One of the finest brains this great nation has ever produced. I have been attending his Dove conferences since 2010 and attended the last one last week, none ever suspected a thing like this would happen so soon. Well, this is death; always a mystery.
I just wonder why this man was not honoured (by the Government) in life looking at his achievements, especially the Dove Payroll. HE WAS INDEED GREAT!!!

    • Wellington bro ure right I was thinking the same thing.this man was a god fearing man who dserved to be honoured he lived a clean life

  23. I never met him in person but we used to talk, he was an inspiration to me, I also remember him thru that career, motivational talk program which used be advertised on TV we have lost a man indeed. May His Soul Rest in Peace

  24. Sad indeed. He was a self-confessed hard worker who tried to emulate the giants of silicon valley in a country that does not support its own but sees foreign things as better.

My suspicion is that he may have pushed it too much in his work/mind which ended up taking a toll on his physical health.

Sudden deaths these days are due to excessive smart lifestyle or stressing about an issue or work overload.

What helps GBM is that he mixes a lot and usually relaxes although he is a not a regular walker as he claims he does twice a week.

  25. May His soul rests in eternal peace. Indeed he was a hard worker who believed in himself. His ambition was to grow the business to great height. I remember I was with him in October 2013 at Pamodzi Hotel during the weeding of his dear daughter. We have lost such an entrepreneur of our time.

  26. I was Jeremiah’s classmate (Form 6) in 1987-1989 at Mpelembe Secondary School in Kitwe. Jeremiah was such fun to be around; he had a good sense of humour, was as intelligent as they come, had a rare strength of character which saw him survive a terrible bus accident which left his body scarred for life but could not dampen his spirit. Above all, Jeremiah was a God-fearing man! “Ezra”, “Jerryboy”, “Buffer”, as we sometimes called you, you will always be fondly remembered by all of us whose lives you touched. Go well, young man, go well! Sincere condolences to Otillie and the children. Your friend, “Welsh”.

  27. Rest in Peace Jeremiah, go well. Former classmate in form 2F to 3F and 4S to 5S at Chizongwe. Jeremiah joined our class in form 2 F (“F” for French) in 1983 and remained classmates until Form 5 S in 1986. He demonstrated leadership skills at an early age, we elected him our class monitor in form three and in form 4 but gave this up in form 5 as he was appointed School Head boy.

  28. Sad indeed, had one last encounter with him last week at the 9th Dove seminar and it was a pleasure, as always to hear he speak so passionately about Zambia and its entrepreneurs. These statements still resound loud in my head, “If it’s something that is available locally, get it local rather than import” also “We are no less smarter than those international (imported) service providers – we are just as good and please give us your support”. Zambia will true miss this gallant son of the land. Rest in eternal peace Mr. Phiri. I personnaly learnt a lot from you.

  29. Jeremiah phiri,I cnt stop crying. I thot of calling you last week but I thot u wud be too busy. What an amazing man you were,ur love for others was beyond odinary. Always making time to go visit ur folks in the village, and look after ur family. I dnt knw what to say my dear friend.I know you r in heaven. Mysrip JP

  30. May your sour rest in peace Mr. Phiri. U were truly a great man, down to earth and full of care and support. May God keep your family strong and safe.
