MMD President Nevers Mumba says the former ruling party will emerge stronger and more refined after going through a turbulent period.
Dr Mumba said the trials and tribulations that the MMD is currently undergoing will refine it and make it stronger.
He told supporters outside the Lusaka High Court Monday morning that a new MMD is emerging the turbulence experienced over the last two years.
Dr. Mumba stressed that the PF Government will not succeed to destabilize the MMD.
“Despite what we are going through today, the MMD will even become more refined. A new MMD with clean leadership and clean politics is emerging,” Dr Mumba told a cheering crowd of supports.
Dr Mumba said the MMD is only political party that can meet the aspirations of Zambians.
“They are pumping in money to destabilise the MMD and I wonder why some of our members could receive dirty money to kill the only party that represents the aspirations of Zambia. The MMD will not die no matter what the enemies throws us at,” he said.
Meanwhile, the case in which Dr. Mumba has been sued for contempt by the party’s two Vice presidents Brian Chituwo and Micheal Kaingu has been adjourned to Friday 16th May 2014.
Judge Eddie Sikazwe adjourned the matter to allow lawyers for the two Vice Presidents enough time to study the arguments raised by Dr. Mumba’s lawyers.
Paul Katupisha and Oscar Mudenda of Milner Katolo and Associates is representing Dr Kaingu and Dr Chituwo while Dr. Mumba is being represented by Makebi Zulu and Associates.

I read with interest an article on ZWD that raised serious questions for Kaingu and Chituwo.
1. Was their injunction sought on behalf of the MMD or in their own capacity?
2. If in their own capacity then whos interests are they seeking to protect?
3. If on behalf of the MMD, how can the MMD seek an injunction against itself (MMD)?
4. If on behalf of the MMD, does Kaingu or Chituwo et all, bear the authority to file injunctions on behalf of the party?
It appears to me, that this is a seriously flawed attempt by the duo and is likely to fail miserably if the two suggest that it was on behalf of the party. And if they say it was in their own capacity, then their case is weakened even further because individuals in their own capacity cant halt a party from holding an NEC meeting…

Of course you are flattered; unfortunately government is not like ZAMTEL. You will not wake up and overturn the law and then implement your interim government unless you have a motion to change those parts of the law that prevent you from doing just that (with ZAMTEL you went to court as well as used some executive orders). Sata will not use those executive orders to disadvantage himself at this stage; even the opposition bawling away would have not agreed to this had they been in State House. Magnanimity is clearly only in words and not in deeds in Zed. Let us observe the law in the meantime.
