Vice President Guy Scott has maintained that President Sata is in Israel on a working holiday.
Dr Scott however told Parliament that he does not know when President Sata will return back to Zambia.
He said the heightened speculation about President Sata’s whereabouts have been fueled mainly by the online media who have been making innuendos out of fiction.
Dr Scott was making a statement on the whereabouts of President Sata following a point of order raised by Monze Central MP Jackie Mwiimbu.
He maintained that President Sata is on a working holiday in Israel and that he may meet Israeli President Shimon Perez in due course.
“The Press Statement issued by Acting Information and Broadcasting Minister Hon. Mwansa Kapeya on Sunday, 22 June 2014 confirmed indeed that the President is in Israel on a working holiday and the Israeli President is aware of President Sata’s visit and may in due course meet him when appropriate,” Dr Scott said.
He said he is ready to provide video footage of President Sata during his stay in Israel.
And Deputy Speaker Mkhondo Lungu curtailed any further debate surrounding the health of President Sata.
“Members of Parliament will appreciate that I did not hesitate to order the Vice President to issue a statement on the whereabouts of the President but sustaining questions about President Sata’s health will be going against the rules set by the Speaker when he ruled that questions about the health of the President will not be entertained,” Mr Nkhondo said.

A Ceo of a company who went on leave(working holiday) without specifying the time when he would be back would be described as irresponsible and would most likely be fired.Since Sata is not sick why is he wasting tax payers monies in Israel when we have issues that need addressing in Zambia…..Ok even my 2 year old knows Sata is very ill so Cabinet should stop B.S -ing Zambians….Just tell us to pray for him and as Kabimba said start preparing for a presidential by-election.

Guy Scott has just confirmed what some us already know. However he is economical with the truth. Sata is critically ill at some medical centre. The people he made fun of for their illnesses are calling him to join them.Mwanawasa, Kunda, Mazoka, Chiluba, and Penza.
The truth is Sata is dying and he ain’t coming back vertically but will come back horizontally as high priority cargo some time in July /August. Though family members are pushing for burial as soon as possible so they can move on.

Why can’t some bloggers get it? This is not about celebrating one’s illness ( which is traditionally un-Zambian ) In normal governance, the whereabouts of a President and their mission, are not a secret. This is about relating the facts to the nation. If the President is unwell and in Israeli for treatment, most people will wish him well and pray for him. The ridiculous attempts by govt. to avoid ‘coming clean,’ is what is dangerous for this nation. I bet there is pilfering, plunder of resources and misappropriation of funds going on in the background in case the worst comes to pass. The lies also serve as a way of buying time while there are manoeuvres within the PF ranks, to strategically position themselves for power. But the likes of Nubian Princess and co. are shockingly myopic.
I fully agree with the Maverick one, the level of questioning in this August house is abysmal. Was Sata’s disastrous court appearance where he clearly appeared sick and confused not evidence enough to a qualified doctor that the man is sick? What Chituwo should have asked is this, “I’m a politician & fully qualified medical doctor, my prognosis of your boss is that he has serious dementia resultant from cancer chemotherapy he must be receiving as evident from the apparent depletion of melanin in his skin. As a consequence of his failure to comply with the constitutional requirement of good health for presidential incumbents, when is your boss resigning on health grounds?”
Such governments are suitable and only entertained in African Government setups but not in the Western Civilised world. It’ s genuine that there are millions of empty headed characters in Africa who support governments which abrogates the true principles of democracy. Why should a President who was elected by the people for the people fail to give a genuine program and duration of his foreign visit ? What is so special about being president of a nation apart from being the chief sevant of the masses who elected such a monister to the highest office in the land ? Africa, especially Zambia in this context has become a failed state in terms of honouring the benchmarks of democratic rules. Why should the president’ s whereabouts be kept concealed as if he is a purse of some cash?
A VP of the Government is not aware of the President traveling schedule? Appointed MP is acting as President? What a mess.
Has the PF embarked on the path which is leading to the declaration of State of Emergency followed by the suspension of Constitution and declaration of One Party State under rule of Comrade Kabimba?

I am beginning to sympathise with Guy Scott for the tight corner he finds himself in and his answers to questions about Sata’s situation are a clear testimony to that.
The fact is the PF mess was evident from day one when they took over and Guy Scott, a mere ceremonial VP, a lame duck VP cannot explain the mad current situation. I would even go further and say Sata’s wife is better placed to tell Zambians the whole truth on her husband’s health and attitude.
