Nkana’s chances of defending the FAZ Super League title continued fading on Saturday as they lost 2-1 to Nchanga Rangers in a Week 26 match at Nkana Stadium.
Nchanga rallied from a goal down to end Nkana’s three game winning streak over them.
Nkana made a false start with Festus Mbewe heading in a Derrick Mwansa free kick after nine minutes.
The two teams went to the break with a 1-1 score-line after Aubrey Chamulwanda equalised on the nick of half time via a fine from taken from the edge of the box.
The game was seemingly heading for a draw before second half substitute Patrick Musonda headed in the winner three minutes before the final whistle.
Nkana were punished for missing several chances in both halves with Mbewe being the main culprit despite scoring the consolation goal.
Mbewe was guilt of missing a sitter in the second minute and went on to waste more chances in the 70th and 72nd minutes.
Nkana remain stuck on 42 points from 24 matches played so far.

Oh ye ba Wusakile!
Ten goals in eight games across the league, averaging just slightly over a goal a game. Not a very good return this past weekend for our game. This trend has characterized the MTN Zambian league for some time now, although we have had ‘spikes’ like the Power game last weekend.
We have seen some great goals this season, nevertheless!
Warriors should have beaten Roan…
