  1. It is well and good that the President held a briefing with his ministers. However, what the govt is yet to explain is the purpose of this trip in the first place. The president was out of the country for nearly a week, and yet seems to have spent that whole week in his hotel room, when he should have been attending the UNGA, Why did we waste all this money sending him to the UN if he was only going to send his ministers to represent him anyway? Couldn’t he have stayed home and gotten the briefing two days later, or through video conferencing if he was so desperate to be briefed? This is why we fail as a nation

    • My friend if most Zambians were like you, we would have credible leaders in Government. Not this mediocrity we are faced with at the moment. He knew he was not going to make the speech but he traveled anyway pantu ni balata ka. We are wasting money on this man. Sorry

    • This is the picture Thomas Nsama took on their first day in New York. He took pics os H.E’s eeps at the UNGA, but could not take one of the said final briefing or the so-called working president!

    • The president left the country on grounds that he is going to attend UNGA, but the unforeseen happened and he was not able to attend to his scheduled meetings period. I’m sure you have ready the news that he fell sick and hence he was not able to attend, hence his ministers represented him and the nation. So what explanation do you really expect from your govt?

    • The opposition have been shamed again. so much for player hating on our leader.Just go and campaign you might win. Banking on his sickness and death won’t help you.

    • Those of you in Lusaka make sure you put on your best attire to go and receive the mighty cobra at the airport. His plane will be landing any time shortly. Don’t just sing Belinda nafwa, sing umwana wamwela instead.

    • The Man wants to go out like Papa, Pope John Paul II so its his wish,

Last wishes should be respected not ridiculed. Well all come to pass. Its a hard one.

    • So in other words president Micheal Sata travelled to the USA, sat in his hotel room and had a mini stroke while watching per pay view po.rn and at the end of the week gathered up his ministers and asked them, “Can you remember?!
And George Chella aka Saulosi, sorry for cutting your trip short. Blame it on NYPD, VOA, NEWSWEEK, ABCNEWS, AP and NYTIMES for letting the cat out of the bag. Those haters!

    • This is the same thing I talked about. It’s good he did not even had to deliver a speech ‘coz with that frail voice inga tacaweme. How was the world going to look at us. Out of 13million people Sata was the only presidential material.

    • Did you notice that all the names in this article are Bemba. This trip seems to have been for Bemba’s and by Bemba’s. Kalaba, Kasese, Kapeya and Munkanga Yamfwa and sata himself all Bemba’s. Out of all the brilliant minds from the Lozi clan, the Tonga Empire, the Tumbuka’s, the Ngon’s and others, there is no one good enough in Sata’s eyes. Isn’t this in your face tribalism… without even any sentela of shame. This country is cursed!!

    • idiott, were you there to witness the meeting? Do you really think this man can hold a high level meeting? Ati “nweniko amenshi”

    • @ saulousi

      Where you been?
PLEASE explain rationale of YOUR President traveling to UN-GA and instead ending up, not in “opposition biased media” (as you claim), but in Newsweek, AP, NY Times, VOA?
His presence in NY was confirmed by the NYPD (not Ligamboni) and the management of Hotel because of his illness.
Unfortunately, his prominence was conspicuous only because his failure to perform his DUTY (due to not specified sickness) as the Head of State and instead we were subjected to the lousy delivery of his speech by the person who has definite problem reading and understanding English.

    • @Saulosi bebe boyi. These opposition are useless. They know that their only hope of ruling Zambia us through Sata’s death reason why they are praying for his sickness and death. They are a bunch of jealousy losers.

  2. humbe advice, the Presido should have stayed alittle more in New york,, just to be on the safe side, because there is no medical emergency service in lusaka

    • Please take it easy. Your hatred and anger for this man will make you suffer from BP. If you pray every day that an innocent man should die because you want your master to be President, you may die yourself first yourself. God is fair to every one. Who dies, is not for you to decide. You have wished him dead several times but he is still around. Does that not make you ask yourselves questions like why has God allowed him to be around? Playing with people’s lives is insulting God who created them. Let me ask you – Who will die first – him or you? can you answer that? You better watch out Mr. Liveforever.

  3. We r waiting to recieve our fossil at the Airport.
Long live the excavation of Mr Sata.
God loves Zambia u r so humiliated and mollicated.
Soon you b nothing but you will b as useless as a morgue !!

    • @anderson chi*ala you are the hopeless mindless voice of ZWD and UPND. Is it true that you are an escapee from Chainama mental hospital? I heard somewhere on the internet you were admitted there for sleeping with dead bodies? You are a vile disgusting creature that should never be allowed to have children so as to reduce the risk of such cretins as yourself from spreading.

  4. OK,king cobra should stop mocking hh with this playing dead now,he knows how hh celebrates taking over from dead people. He probably had a party at the hearing of that false rumor, nomba aloba elyauma….yaba.

  5. MCS, the brightest bulb on the Zambian chandalier went to UNGA and the bulb couldn’t turn on due to very low wattage.Zambian taxpayers got screwed.

  6. I disagree with the first sentence that says Sata led a delegation to New York, this is false. The truth is that Kalaba led the delegation of which Sata was a hanger on basking in reflected glory.

  7. Look at the composition of his entourage. One would think he is a village headman from mpika with his Indians and other court jesters….Kalaba,mukanga,kapeya,kabanshi,Kasese,chibanda,chakuti,chakuti…..surely is this a Zambian delegation?disgusting.

    • My thoughts exactly!! The earlier this oldrug of a jerk dies, the better!! To him everything has to revolve around tribe. He has polarised this country. Sata’s tribalism is nauseating!! The Iraq Prime Minister Al Malik was kicked out of office by the Americans earlier this year becoz of being tribal! The Americans cant come here but God is working of it! This guy was a terrible curse on Zambia!!!1

  8. one can see that this is an abnormal situation.why should holding a briefing or a cabinet meeting become news?in my earlier posting I meant Indunas and not Indians.

  9. I’m sure the reports of HEMCS demise were greatly exaggerated, I’ll bet some one said ‘dead tired’ and another heard, ‘dead’.
Either way, if the president is fit and healthy, by all means let him get to work. A few roads here and there does not equal work. We’ve had road constitution since Independence.
Can we have real development, policy changes, attitude changes… A new constitution!
    #OneZambia

  10. Its an open secret that the president has a challenge with his voice that needs to heal through medical intervention and the prayers of Zambians unless we expected him to use sign language to address the UN general assembly. However, the good news in my opinion is that he managed to go to USA and indirectly he has managed to put to rest speculation that he was in a vegetative state at state house had he not traveled as earlier reported by some diabolical online media.

  11. PF keyboard cadres ‘Twebeni’ what your working president did in NY USA during UNGA conference. Better stayed at base than embarrassment caused to Zambia. You owe Zambia instead your sickly president was barred from attending (in case Ebola) all conference deliberations. Spent tax payers money for death alarm to USA and huge team contingent allowances while farmers are not paid, fuel shortage and basic food prices is sky rocket. Shameful lot.

    • Please when did the new york times, VOA and AP become Zwatchdog, lets be realistic and stop trivializing the president’s health .The man is sick and just needs to rest. But as a country we re @ a point where we need a working president hence the due call for his resignation.I hope that doesn’t choke you in anyway but makes u understand why people are calling for the old man to resign .If you find it so comfortable with PF then select someone healthier than his excellency and vote for him.

  12. Whether in sickness or health, I will vote for the Cobra for he has proved beyond reasonable doubt that he has the heart to restore Zambia to prosperity. If only Late Chiluba did not Chinga him, we would be living in paradise today. Long Live King Cobra.

  13. THAT IS THE PROBLEM WE HAVE IN ZAMBIA. THERE IS ALOT OF EDUCATED FOOLS WHO DO NOT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SLEEPING AND WORKING.
SO YOU CAN NOT EXPECT ANY THING GOOD FROM A TEAM THAT HAS BEEN ALREADY DECLARED ” USELESS ” BY THE TEAM LEADER HIMSELF.

  14. ..how I hate someone taking me for a 1diot…sometimes I imagine what would happen if similar saga had to happen with say British prime minister, French president or German Chancellor…..I usually draw a blank because such would never happen..
The last statement sums it up…how else would they go to the waiting vehicles..??…to fly or on a wheel chair…or indeed on a stretcher…??

  15. International Media reported that , “President Michael Sata was scheduled to speak before the United Nations General Assembly but failed to appear for his slotted speech”.

This report was also featured on TV news, some news channels even went further to say this was the first time in the history of UN General Assembly that a President had failed to speak.

It reflects lack of serious on the Government and Party in Power, especially that they contend that he is in good health. If he was in good health why did he fail to attend such a crucial meeting. Also it appears the UN General Assembly was caught in an awkward situation as they had not anticipated this would happen.

Such kind of, “mingalatos” best left at home as they can bring irreparable shame on our Nation!

    • The problem is that Zambia is a collection of tribes that ran away from either Shaka wars or those Luba-Lunda empires where only the fit survived. What do you expect from the off-springs of such unprincipled lot? Sata’s behavior is a reflection of what type of people Zambians are; can’t you see that the President’s wife is always laughing at the Zambians while she is going on global trotting !

  16. So,after getting a briefing from his muchinga delegation(not Zambian)the patient is headed home or is checking in at the nearest hospice?pf key board cadres stop deluding yourselves….your partners have laid bear what we have always said:that this is a corrupt family cartel not a government.ask Fred of the past tabloid.kikiki

  17. Please take it easy.

    • The ones’ who are playing with his life are the deceitful people surrounding him and those benefiting out of a bad situation as the man deserves a rest. I admired MCS for his spirited fight whilst in opposition, but clearly he is unwell and to ignore this is like burying one’s head in the sand.

    • …@Alex
..you may be right but equally lets have (more important) respect for the people of Zambia who happen to be supreme/the bosses/employers/indispensable …

  18. Sata and wife would have loved to remain behind in America for a few more days or even weeks but the problem is the media in America won’t let him hide his activities and other happenings affecting him. He is only able to remain in secrecy here in Zambia !!

  19. Latest on CCTV news, “Zambia President leaves New York amid report of ill health”

Perhaps they are also full of hatred for our President?

  20. Only a gullible cadre would believe this hogwash, Sata is incapable of holding any meeting in that state. Why hold meetings with your own ministers you traveled with when you are in a foreign country with all the world’s leaders in one locality….Zambians better wake up and stop taking in this mediocrity and myopic leadership.
Where was he when AP and Newsweek reported that he had medical attention….the old man is deadwood to me and I do not know why we continue to waste time on this liability.
    Wake up people!!

    • @JayJay you have continued to call the President of the Democratic peoples’ republic of Zambia deadwood even after friendly advise to desist from such insults to the President and Zambians. The President may not be very well but he remains the president until the terms expires not when you say, meantime concentrate on selling your UNDP manifesto and please improve on your language.

    • @chinyama
It would be so convenient for you if I was a member of any opposition party….my party is the the people of Zambia…I neither have the time nor energy to engage in debate with small minded cadres like yourself.
If you were in diapers in 2006 I suggest you do some research about your frail DEADWOOD President and the names he used to call his colleagues when he was in opposition…the most annoying thing about it is that they admitted to being ill unlike him and he still ridiculed them straight to their graves.

  21. The oaks at the Post (Fred and Mujuda) and their confidants their Lordships Matibini, Chali, Woods, Malila, and DPP Nchito et al are lawyers of repute. ABC couldnt win a telling victory.

There are many ways to kill a cat. So rather go for hard uncontestable facts in the realm of contract and agency; ZRA and DBZ debt. Paying close to K50 million will take its toll on Fred. And that is the ultimate goal!!!

  22. It is diplomatic protocol for the hosting country to provide security and emergence services to visiting head of state. That’s why Bana Kaseba may have dialed 911. My point is Sata in his current condition needs to stay home (State House). Politics aside Sata is not well. He may be recovering but he has not recovered enough to warrant public and international engagements.

  23. I am sick and tired of this deceit and confusion being created by the PF leadership. This is mediocrity and recklessness at its best. Travelling all the way to America with a big delegation at tax payers expense only to end up addressing his ministers, a thing he could have done in Lusaka. This money can go a long way in helping the poor masses in our compounds. Its high time President Sata accepted his illness and started to behave accordingly. Its not a secret that we all fall sick and seek medical treatment from time to time.

  24. Agony is when PF keyboard cadres can not raise a ‘Panga’ against those with opposing views on social media about sickly Sata. That meeting with ministers at a hotel foyer will be announced as PF Central Committee met in USA and resolved numerous national issues. New PF style of governing our nation. Shameful lot.

  25. This is the time when our Country should have been buzzing! debating on new developmental ideas, visions and scenarios as an aftermath of the UN Summit, without distraction. For example, on climate change and Carbon footprint, this would have been an optune time to debate on how our Country can accrue huge benefits from ‘Carbon Credits’ as this concept is in our favour for as long as we have bigger rural areas with forests, than urban areas. This is God sent.
At household level, whether rural or urban, we should have been debating on how best to harness Solar Energy and, in some cases even transmit back and sell to ZESCO, and thereby become multiple producers and earn a living, and at the same time help meet the electricity demand in the Country.
    But…alas…. instead we….

    • … we are distracted and reduced to debating the health of one 77 year old man with a questionable state of mind. This is how Countries remain behind.

  26. I can’t understand ba shetani who want to see the president dead. Its like a pack of hyenas waiting to devour a sick lion even before it drops dead!

  27. The episode in New York relating to the president and his purported ill health, was not hocus pocus. It turned out more bizarre to those of us who saw it coming. Why in the first place did a president who was obviously so sick, travel to New York on a mission to address the world on a UN podium? The decisions tends to border on insanity.

  28. The purpose of his trip was to seek medical advice in USA not the UNGA. They made it sure that it coincided with the meeting, but I guess things didn’t go as planned. Wish him a speedy recovery. # justmyopinion.

  29. The President shouldn’t , have come ,BUT , because of the wife’s engagement, pushed him to come. Despite his condition, selfish indeed, over his life. We don’t want her next year, let her stay home for good, any 2016, they are out for good.

  30. whatever the comments on Sata inadequacies. …am happy he is alive. ….that american magazine ati NEWSWEEK Ulya kutumpa. …how can they even publish ati our president died on thursday in his NY hotel. room? are the ones who wanted to kill him? bamakaka. ……vc

  31. It is very sad that your president is sick. It is disgraceful that he or those around him are exhausting him to death. But I would like to believe, and most rational Zambians agree with me that Michael C. Sata is the best thing to have happened to Zambia’s political history.
By your president or his handlers display of this abnormal shocking behaviour, we come to appreciate what is normal democracy. Above all else, it means that Zambians are going to be very very careful about Angel-like sounding and potential “agy” candidates running for president. It seems never will they entrust their votes to individuals who seem honest but in practise turn out to be politically deceptive. I have said it before, and say it again, there’ s nothing wrong with being sick. Transparency is…
