Commerce and Trade Deputy Minster Miles Sampa has donated his September salary towards the maintenance and protection of the house of President Sata’s father in Chitulika village in Mpika District.

The Deputy Minister said his donation is aimed at ensuring that the house for the late Langforiv Sata is turned into a heritage site.

Mr Sampa was speaking in Mpika yesterday after inspecting the house and later launched a project named Langi Trust to oversee the maintenance of Mr Langforiv Sata’s house.

He explained that the project will be sustained through contributions from well-wishers and will also help orphans to access education.

Mr Sampa who is also Matero MP has since appointed Julius Komaki as interim chairperson to coordinate the activities of the trust and ensure that the yard is fenced from being vandalized further.

He said that the project will be sustained through contributions from all well-wishers adding that it will not have any funding from the Government.

Mr Sampa called on people of Chitulika village and Mpika as a whole to protect President Sata from enemies and support the government’s national development agenda.

And some Chitulika residents who attended the launch of the project thanked the deputy minister for Commerce and Trade for the gesture and pledged to support and protect President Sata and the Chitulika heritage site.

  1. Yaba ! Stupidity is in abundant supply within the Zambian cabinet. No one has ever heard of Sata’s father,he did nothing for Zambia and PF cadres want to turn his house into a what? As a relative by all means honor your grandfather but don’t take it to national level.

    • Zambia is free country, any one who wants to build a lasting tribute to a friends father let them do so … as long as no other peoples money is used without their express consent. No stupidity here just exercising ones freedom. Don’t be timid express yourself musa!!!

    • The ldiot is trying to please Sata’s ancestors when his own father is suffering. How stupid can someone be just trying to win the president’s favours? He thinks he will be appointed successor to the dying Cobra. Kambwili, GBM and others won’t allow that.

    • It would have made much sense if he had donated it to all those UNZA students they have denied sponsorship .These guys go all the way to America to attend the UN summit using tax payers money only to be holed up in some hotel . Sata can afford to look after the house in question yet those students cant. Where is your are morals ?

    • @Maharaji
You have said it all and nothing further to add. I remain awe and still wondering what it is, Miles Sampa is trying to achieve. Awe this leadership thing is becoming a serious danger to the mental faculties of the PF leadership.

    • @Maharaji, I couldn’t agree with you more… this Sampa guy really tries hard to play to the gallery. Why should Mr Sata’s late father’s house be turned into a national heritage (or did he mean a village heritage?). Surely it’s not like there’s any connection whatsoever… oh dear!

Apparently he keeps using his salary so he can be praised… talk about lack of creativity, he could have just organised a fundraising event in Mongu or something (to see just how important this house is valued nationally, LOL).

By the way what’s the connection to this Komaki dude?

This kind of hypocrisy really makes me not liking some of these fellas even more.

    • And I will really be interested in seeing the visitors’ records to see just how many new visitors this new enshrined national heritage will attract. Even more I will be interested to see the sustainability of this heritage site after Sata and the PF have left govt.

Diasporas you might as well start marketing our newest tourist attraction… oh dear! dear!

    • Sampa is Sata’s nephew. That means Langforiv is his grandfather. So he’s simply putting the money within his family and announcing to the whole world…

    • What an insult to Sata and his brothers.
Why didn’t Miles go through the Constituency and MP of that Chitulika?
I can’t wait to hear from Luapula province Permanent Secretary Kasolo who is Sata’s Family Spokesman.

    • What about the house David and Hellen Kaunda occupied at Lubwa?

Anyway, this action alone is absurd. A student has just committed suicide for lack of money to pay fees at UNZA and Zambia can afford to pay One DEPUTY Minister Miles Sampa K250,000 (K250m in old currency) PER MONTH?????????? No. Tell me this is not true!!! Are we a nation or a band of ……………Ouch.

      I have no words…..

    • UNZA by the way is a stronghold for PF. ……and PF is gaining popularity. The students are very happy with PF policies. They just won 3 out of 5 by-elections…..they are doing a good job according to Zambians. Who are we to question the wisdom of Zambians. So HH and your fellow opposition leaders, your good ideas should wait and jo. in in celebrating the good work the PF is doing.

What else can one say? This girl was just one of those things.

  2. And everyday we are shown children who need money for diseases that need surgery abroad…….what the fcuk did we ever do to deserve the PF please twa papata? Kids are killing themselves because of no bursaries etc, yaba!

  3. I’ve heard of dick riding before, but I think this is a bit extreme! Are there no better things to do with that money than making an old late house boys digs look alive again? Apart from cooking and cleaning for white colonialists, what did he contribute to this country. At fifty this is the caliber of leaders we have? Bootlickers and dickriders. Not to mention the Kambwilis! *hanging my head in shame*

  4. That’s buying your position. There’re so many people who are poor to be helped not Sata’ s Father. So you mean Sata can’t build a house for his father.

  5. I cannot even begin to comprehend and explain the leader-ship vacuum between Mr. Sata and his ministers. President sata is a great leader, his minsters though!

  6. A normal person will not seek publicity when donating anything especially to a family member. Sampa’s billions are driving him crazy.

  7. Is it wrong to do something for your grandparents. Sampa in President Sata’s nephew so there is nothing wrong in what he is doing. Ask before you comment.

    • @Njala what, what..
Has it occured to you that he is only doing it because his so-called uncle is in plot one? Does Miles strike you as a person that can do something like this without an ulterior motive? Get real bra. These are politics of poverty, pf as defined..

    • Muppet! If it is a family matter, why ask other people to get involved? According to President Sata his father was Mr Langford Mubanga Chanda. Miles Sampa says Sata’s father was Langforiv Sata. it appears that even the family doesn’t even know his names and yet want to waste money creating a heritage for someone whose son is being paid by taxpayers for failing to perform his duties.

    • If you are donating something, why not do it quietly and especially when the donation is abnormal as you are donating to the haves, but even to the have nots you still do it quietly. My interest is ACC or DEC, if a man keeps donating his salary, don’t you think you need to ……… And Mahtani please confirm the bank was left intact by this chap

    • Njalamimba Musonda….

All good people help out family members. Do we go to the Press?

For me as a taxpayer the issue is paying K250,000 per month to a Deputy Minister who does literary nothing in the office other than reading speeches for his Minister and enjoying sponsored tours within Zambia and abroad. K10,000-K15, 000, yes but not K250,000 PER MONTH. I am truly unhappy about this wastage. Just see the poverty surrounding us!! And more money is spent to build mansions for former Presidents and costly trips to New York just to go and “work” in the hotel there? You expect me to be happy with that? No way. Let us just be serious, guys.

  8. Two words: Ass licker. Sata knows the state of that little ramshackle but has neglcted to do anything about it. But here comes Miles Sampa with money to throw around all in the name of heritage. What these pf !diots dont seem to realise is that people can see right through their lies. Donate money to worthwhile causes, dammit, not to lick your absent landlord’s ass!

  9. Catholic Philosophy at its best! Hail blessed Mary the mother of Jesus! Praise the father for giving us the son our savior to keep corruption and tribalism going!

    • Yeah!

That Mary thing I find hard to comprehend. Girl was as da-mn as a door knob. But here comes a bunch of hopelessly desperate people wanting favors from her.

When will black people stop worshiping whites?

The bible is very clear on who god has chosen to be his people: Israelis (Jews). But here you come with your desperation forcing yourselves on to the clan. You will never succeed! Just chill. Leave Jesus, Mary, and the white god alone! Haa!

    • Miles is free to give his money to whoever and whatever cause. If the man is so rich, why not remove his name from the payroll and donate the money to bursaries. Look at real people like Bill Gates and Melinda Gates. I tell you, God is pleased with those two. And they are so humble. Look at George Bush and the wife. Great people.

  10. None of the above comments (The negative ones) has or show any practical sense! Could it be that the president himself gave that money and used his nephwe’s name to honour his father but to avoid complicating issues?!He Once again is à step further than you all! Think People…… Problem with you Zambians is that you see things in a straight line nowonder they are leading you, bunch of dullos, cant even think outside THE box!

    • Cindy…..

Come back to reality. That is a family issue. Why announce it publicly is you did not want people to comment on it. We all have families. What is so special about Mr Langsov? We all have or had fathers and mothers, and uncles we have looked after. Do we go to the Press?

Be real people. This pretense is just too much.

  11. Pure nonsense ba Sampa!u’ve been doing well but not on this one!donate to help orphans, build churches,to youth clubs, etc!not this one sir!

  12. Please help me out understand this. What is the rate of change? Is it true that 250000 is almost 40000$? If it is, something is wrong with us.

  13. atase ba Miles, if he is a relative just do it out of love. Do make it a public thing so that you are seen in the media. You always want peopLe to see you dishing out money. Money you have acquired through government contracts and such. You mean Sata is not able to look after his father’s house. This is stupidity of the highest order.

  14. No wonder he calls them useless, stupidity has reached it’s highest peak in Satas cabinet now. Cry my beloved country.

  15. Yesterday Hon Miles Sampa posted on his facebook page asking the residents of Matero if he could use CDF fund to pay K20,000.00 for lilanda boy who got 6 points but was not given bursary. Then he donates K250,000 to unknown, who did nothing for this land. WHAT HYPOCRISSY IS THIS?
