Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) Leader Hakainde Hichilema has appealed to Members of Parliament to move a motion in parliament urging government to come up with a clear road map for the constitution making process.

And the UPND leader has maintained that there is a leadership vacuum in the country.

Addressing a media briefing in Lusaka this morning, Mr. Hichilema says it will be unacceptable to hold the 2016 general elections using the current outdated constitution.

Mr. Hichilema has accused new PF Secretary General Edgar Lungu of following in the footsteps of his predecessor Wynter Kabimba with regards the constitution making process.

The UPND leader says the PF government should stop speculating on the release of the final draft constitution but rather act on their promises.

And Mr. Hichilema says the country is in an emergency situation with regards the happenings at the University of Zambia (UNZA) main campus.

He says it is unfortunate that over 17, 000 students applied for admission at UNZA but only 14, 000 qualified and out of that only 6,000 were admitted and regrettably only 2,000 were awarded bursaries.

Mr. Hichilema states that government has up to now not given an appropriate response regarding the awarding of the bursaries to students.

Mr. Hichilema, who called for a moment of silence during the briefing for the first year student who committed suicide after being denied a bursary, says the blood of the student is on the heads of the PF leaders.

  1. AM STILL WONDERING WHY LT ALWAYS SHOWS BAD PICTURES OF HH,ARE YOU PF SITE. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH OUR MEDIA THEY ALWAYS WANT TO BE POLITICAL.BE FAIR AND PROFESIONAL AND EARN SOME LEVELS OF DECENCY. ALWAYS SHOWIN GROOMY AND BAD PICTURES OF AN ASPIRING CANDIDATE FOR OF PRESIDENT IS ONE WAY OF DECAMPAIGNING THAT CANDIDATE,AM SURE THIS WHAT LT IS DOING TO HH.

    • @Joxer

Up to now you have not realised that LT was started by PF zealots. Its funded by PF 100%. Its editors are 100% PF beneficiaries.

How ever much they try to paint him with a bad brush, we are here to defend him left right and centre.

Any one not inspired by HH’s success will die a poor man or woman. The man is a clear symbol of what academic hard work and personal wisdom represents.

I am not far from him now. Very soon I will crack a million pound problem and earn millions.

  2. Excellent message Mr President.Next year starting from August, start mobilising the party on a serious note, gearing up for 2016 elections. Hold primary elections in constituencies where UPND is lost their seats for people to select their favourite candidates instead of imposing them.

In places where UPND is controlling, the party should hold meetings and gather the people to prepare them to go flat out on the campaign trail .The campaign trail should be kick started with a huge party.

Two or three cows and a lot of food and drinks can do the magic. This is one way of selling the party to the people. If you give gifts during this period it will not amount to electoral fraud as the election date will not have been set. Any party donations should take place before the election date.

  3. If you are not popular in Eastern, Luapula, Copperbelt, Central, Northern, Muchinga, and Lusaka provinces can never be a president of Zambia. Remember Southern province taught people how to vote. When Mazoka was around the voting partern was fine and he almost won.

    • stop misleading pipo. take out central and lusaka provinces from that list. what constitutes central provine. ithezi tehzi, mumbwa, nangoma mwembeshi, katuba, chisamba, kembe, kabwe UPND is scoopin these seat. bye 2016 kabwe, mukushi north and south will fall to the UPND. mwashalafye na ka serenje, chitambo which is tribal of course we know.

  4. The next local government by-elections UPND should pick any seat and give to HH for him to have an idea how government decision are reached, after all it’s just for two years. Zambians will only vote for experienced politicians like Mr. Mukombwe.

    • Which one do you reckon they should give him? Dora’s constituency? That would be very interesting. Who do you think would win Dora or HH?

    • @ Dead, so to you , your simpleton moronic head is satisfied with the decision thus far made by those that have served in govt before. It is people like you that Einstein had in mid when he said doing the same thing over and again but expecting different results was insanity..

    • @Obatala. Clearly you don’t understand the simple friendly banter going on here. But it’s also timely advice to UPND/HH about experience and the ability to sell your brand in areas that are outside your comfort zone. Do you get that pea brain?

    • no,its becoz of *****s like you who uses their balls to think.how on earth can a sensible person vote for sata over HH? no wonder that poor country is going to the
      sewer

  5. I fail to understand this man does he really hav an agenda for this country? Bring new things which can give zambians hope not constution and stealing becouse you are part of the mistake. you went to NCC and you are the best example of pipo who stole our money.

    • chuku a tribalist without grey matter.HH al the way. UPND is preparing alternative budget to mr. chikwanda french wine’s sleepy hollow budget

  6. why is it that HH’s suporters dont use their names but hide in Bemba or names from Eastern if not used White’s name. is it not lack of confidence? How can HH win if they dont have confidence in what they say and their IDs? may be they are doing him DOCHI KUBEBA

  7. Road map needed, concur. Don’t understand how PF can win 2016 without it as it will be on the mind of the people in selecting their next leader.

It’s weak to continually make comments on the obvious, without any critical analysis. The issue of the failures to provide study bursaries this year is not due to a failure of PF, rather that which is systemic. A new system must be created to deal with the current population requirements. This is not just PF, but all parties on board. HH has failed on this point because he has not brought anything to the table by way of suggestions. @no. 5 concur. Please pick a seat HH and win it as practice.
