Movement for Multiparty Democracy President Dr Nevers Sekwila Mumba yesterday called for a day of prayer and fasting for President Michael Chilufya Sata and the nation.
Delivering his “Year of Jubilee” message at the Victory Bible Church Headquarters in Kitwe Dr Mumba cited 1 Timothy 2:1-3 which commands believers to pray for those in authority so that “… we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”
Dr Mumba called on all the 52 Victory Bible Churches in Zambia and all ministries and leaders of Churches who have a passion for Zambia to join in this holy convocation.
He admonished all believers to pray and fast on Tuesday 28th October 2014 from 06:00hrs to 18:00hrs. Dr Mumba also announced the 2015 Victory Bible Church theme as “THE SEASON OF UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES.”

Nevers Mumba’s message targeted a specific audience of congregants, understandably believers.By no means was Dr Mumba shoving his Christian beliefs down the throats of those not interested. Being a staunch Pentecostal Christian doesn’t make him oblivious of the fact that in politics you accommodate believers as much as non-believers.My personal view is when you are addressing an audience in whatever form-media, public rally, door-to-door or town hall- style meetings,minimise religious references and focus on common issues affecting everyday Jim and jack.Don’t be over sensitive about causing offence, getting the balance right is what matters.Being too much of a ‘good boy’ becomes boring and may be interpreted as a weakness and lacking in material for dishing out.We need you to win in…
Mushota, Mr Nevers Mumba has said that they should pray for Mr Sata so that ‘we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.’ This is what the basic instruction before leaving earth (b.i.b.l.e) says. Which means that if Mr Sata is an obstacle to living a quiet and peaceable life, he will have to be removed. If he is conducive to that he will stay.

Mumba is not truthful in his statements. How can he pray for the person he is busy fighting and wished dead so he could go to state house?
The way to go Nevers. Don’t be discouraged by peoples comments. you can see that living in the negative always has caused others to be subject of ridicule and loss of sympathizers. I don’t see anything worry with Dr Mumbas suggestion, knowing what we experienced with the late Mwanawasa (mhsrip), as a nation I encourage all patriotic Zambians to remember our President in prayer, whether UPND, UNIP, MMD or PF lets stand together and pray for him. lets put our parties and politics aside its a life we are talking about. For once we put ourselves in the shoes of the Presidents Children. God bless our beloved President.

The prayer Sata needs is to ask God to let him go painless. He needs mercy killing type of prayer since medically it can’t be done. So prayer goes like this “Lord shorten the days of his suffering and take him to a place you have reserved for deceivers, segregatots, manipulators and non respectors of fellow human beings” Amen.
