Musician Bobby East and his co-accused Ruth Mukanga have been fined K8,500 or nine months in default for producing obscene materials.
The two were facing one count of producing pornographic video likely to corrupt people’s morals.
In sentencing the two this morning, Lusaka Magistrate Mwaka Mikalile said the fine will serve as punishment for the two young people and deter would be offenders.
Defence lawyers said they will happy with the outcome of the case and observed that the court has been lenient on the two.
The two youths had produced a home made 12 minute pornographic video which went viral on social media.
K8500 only? How will it deter people from engaging in that vice? So with K17000 one would produce two videos and still get away with it. Those guys were supposed to be caged at least for 9 months and then fine them that amount. There are cracks in our laws for sure.
…what I don’t comprehend is…why do couples film themselves doing it…??…is it for the purpose of reviewing what the were doing or as proof to friends that the two had it or what…..??….if we, as a so called Christian nation, consider this case ‘horrendous’, then let us amend the fine to six figures….

..my advise to the lady is to convince the dude to marry her otherwise no man in his rightful mind can settle for her…apparently its different with the dude, despite such, he can marry any other woman without a fuss…

..I do agree with you but she only be hunted for a ‘quick’…and not for a serious relationship like marriage…..Men do marry divorcees or someone who has been a relationship before…..but seeing your ‘wife to be’ in a live act like that….very few men would stand that I can assure you…..

To every rule there is an exception. The dual after that sin conducted themselves in a very remorseful manner and did not deny the fact that they did error. Retribution is not always law and ultimate. Certainly, the dual have learnt lesson enough and require reformation now. Looking at their disposition, they look and appear meant for each other, why cant they consider marrying and live like husband and wife? Seem comfortable with each other. what a suit by default.

The guy should have been charge more for wasting the girls time because he has the weapon but failed to use it in bed. The anaconda in his trousers did not do a good job. Let him learn some lessons on how it is done than wasting the well built weapon.

It proves the judgment was right as the comments of bloggers indicate the dual were real amartures who were just excited. Had they been real ones they would have shown skill at work but alas . This is more reason if they considered marrying as they look liking each other with love, they would pass through alangizi to help them up. Please spare them and let them refresh and settle down . Guys , keep away from her and gals keep away from him. Let the two think through their acts and resolve within themselves into better citizens and ambassadors of good will through their stage talent.
