Ruling Patriotic Front (PF) Chawama Constituency chairperson Robert Chikwelete has resigned from the party.
In a statement released to Qfm News this afternoon, Mr. Chikwelete says he has resigned because he does not want to be part of what is happening in the ruling party.
Mr. Chikwelete who is also former Lusaka Mayor states that the spate of violence that has been witnessed in the ruling party is what has made it difficult for him to continue being its member.
He says he joined the ruling PF with the belief that it had a bright future and that this belief was proven right when the people of Zambia voted the ruling PF in government in 2011.
Mr. Chikwelete notes that what however saddening to party members like himself and the general public is the form that the ruling party has taken from the time that President Michael Sata died on October 29th this year.
He says he particularly thinks that the PF being the ruling party should be a leading example of how political party in a Democracy like Zambia should conduct itself.
Mr. Chikwelete says he however expects to see unity of purpose and discipline within the party as what has been happening in the last few weeks is civil disorder and gross act of indiscipline on the party of PF members.

Nobody is useless in democracy. On the contrary, elections are won at the strength of so-called useless. Every vote counts. There is something cooking behind the scene.
With Kabimba and Chikwelete the heartbeats of violence in PF gone, under Lungu PF is on the way to its full 5 year mandate. God has left Scott and M’membe is a total quandary of confusion and rejection.

This man insulted Edgar Lungu the incoming president,so he knows that with Edgar on top of PF,he will be useless hence resigning before being fired!many opposed to Lungu now will start running away from PF as soon as he is adopted in Kabwe!people like Chenda,Guy Scott,Kambwili,Munkombwe,Miles Sampa,etc are likely to resign from PF fearing Lungu!

I don’t want to say anything bad about Chikwelete. ..but if he has felt like he is not comfortable in PF without his buddy Kabimba. .he is free to quit PF..it’s a blessing in disguise. ..and one thing you should understand China is that in politics. ..you try to piece 100 uneven pieces together…and that’s when trouble starts coz if the pieces don’t fall into place…then you end up having factions and cartels within a political party
This was the case with PF and Sata tried so hard to put all the pieces together…he kept firing with immediate effect but still it didn’t work till he got rid of Kabimba….Chikwelete was Kabimba ‘s personal friend and I think him leaving the PF now is good for the party.
