UPND president, Hakainde Hichilema, says leaders in the ruling Patriotic Front are not focused on delivering change for the Zambian people.
In a statement released to media, Mr Hichilema said Zambia urgently needs a leader that can address the plight of children, farmers, workers, students and the unemployed.
He said the lack of leadership is hurting Zambians across the country on a daily basis.
Mr Hichilema cited the incident in which farmers were arrested yesterday in Serenje and Kasama as few of the many farmers that have not yet received their maize payment from Food Reserve Agency (FRA).
He said it is unfortunate that the PF general conference is being held at Mulungushi Rock of Authority which closed last month due to water shortages.
He has called on Acting President Guy Scot to now re-focus his attention on the country and the Zambian people and do everything within his power in order to have a free and fair election on January, 20, this year.

Farmers are not yet paid, upto now. Students are also not yet paid. Surely is this the type of government you expect to carry on ruling Zambia?
PF leaders are not focussed for sure. There are now talks to suspend the general conference on flimsy grounds because Lungu ‘s supporters are chanting victory songs ahead of voting.
Guy Scott has apparently been whisked back to Lusaka together Kaseba. The rumour is , they want general conference cancelled and a meeting of MCC called again.
If this does not convince any one that PF lacks focus then they need their heads checked.

PF has presided over the failure to pay poor rural farmers and students, confusion, high and unsustainable debt, weak Kwacha, oppression of divergent views, induced costly by-elections, failed constitution enactment within the time they set, disrespect of some chiefs such as our Chitimukulu and the high cost of basic needs among others.
The more this chap yaps the more he sounds like the PF ministers. How many people within UPND can you allow to challenge you for your position? You are just as greedy with power as the PF ministers. Zambians wants to know how you will fix their problems not how you can resolve internal wrangling of other parties.
HH, PF is stil making you to have sleepless nights without a leader, what more after the conference?, believe me you have a lot to do to make easterners and notherns to vote for you and not EL,if you play cheap ones this time, then your chance may never come watch carefully what you talk about and those around you, Goodluck anyway.

The truth is in the pudding or in this case we can say in the porridge. As an opposition leader HH needs to continue exerting pressure on the current government. He can not sit idly by as people’s livelihoods are being hindered with. The issue here should be governments failure to pay farmers. Campaign no campaign he has a duty to try help the struggling citzen and protect them from a failed and insensitive government. Instead of playing a soap opera in the PF succession circus Guy Scott should be out there making sure farmers are paid and have the necessary inputs for the next season. PF is busy playing ” PLAY FOR TODAY POLITICAL THEATRE.” and forgetting they still have a country to run. This Maximo comedy needs to go. Viva Flight HH2015.

That’s what the opposition is therefore to hold a government accountable. Especially when the failures are affecting people’s ability to provide for their families. HH is doing his job maybe the people running the country can learn something and do theirs. Farmers are waiting to be paid. What’s the hold up?

Running goverment is not like running a poutry farm, more especially in a democratic,christian country like zambia.

This article feels a day late and a dollar short seeing as the campaign has been North/CB, North West, West and is now South.
