Former MMD president, Rupiah Banda, has launched his campaign trail for the January, 20, 2015 presidential by-elections.

And All Peoples Congress (APC) president, Nason Msoni, Republican Progressive Party (APP) president, James Lukuku and Zambia Direct Democracy Movement (ZDDM) national coordinator, Edwin Sakala, have endorsed Rupiah Banda.

Addressing a sizeable audience in Lusaka’s Mtendere compound to mark his first campaign program, Mr Banda asked for votes from the electorates, stating that he is mature and capable of bringing unity in the country.

“When you vote for me, I will do what you want; join me in the liberation from disunity and poverty,” he said.

He said the people of Zambia should vote for an individual who can address the many challenges that they are facing such as unemployment and poverty.

Mr Banda said once voted in power he will effectively conclude all the developmental projects that he initiated countrywide, further stating that the PF made a mark by simply working on the developmental schemes that he introduced.

He added that when he comes into power he would reduce mealie-meal prices as well transport costs across the country to ease people’s mobility.

He said he will bring development into focus for the benefit of the general citizenry as he is a president for all people, adding that the PF lied to the Zambian people by promising them money in their pockets in 90 days.

Mr Banda said he is not bothered because his son Andrew Banda has endorsed UPND ahead of the January, 20 presidential elections because in a democracy anyone is free to belong to any political affiliation.

And APC president, Nason Msoni, described Mr Banda has a super substitute who understands the problems that the Zambian people are going through.

He said Mr Banda is the right calibre to stand on MMD ticket because another person who wants to stand on the same tickets is a criminal.

Mr Msoni said it is time to vote for MMD because the boat has sunk because PF has failed to deliver the constitution.

And ZDDM national coordinator, Edwin Sakala, said Mr Banda is a president for all Zambians who treats all Zambians equally.

And APP president, James Lukuku, said Mr Banda has what it takes to become republican president.

    • Sir You are a true transitional leader of unity, stability, maturity and inclusiveness. Considering that the Bantu Botatwe re-loaaders in contractual obligations of foreign “Arms Dealers and Dogs of war” believe no other Zambian should rule but their own, nationalists across the country are deafeningly calling that you negotiate on some shared national interest with the Pro-Bemba party. PF has now nationalized with a national character under the leadership of your young intelligent brother Edgar Lungu.

Thank you for accepting a popular call for national service yet again. God protect you sir.

    • Witch hunting does not get anybody any good. See what the cartel has done to Zambia by brainwashing Zambians by demonising bringing of two willing parties together, facilitating registration of companies, advising on licencing procedure, legal requirements on labour, capital, safety and so on. HH did this for Sun Hotel Group and nobody blames him for that. Valentine Chitalu did the same for many investors, Muna Hantuba has done this for many and got shares in the companies in return. Mutati has done this and his brother has benefited from that. Just because. RB is the best. You worship your God I will vote for my human with all his faults.

    • BREAKING NEWS: “NEVERS MUMBA IN MUCHINGA SEEKS ADVISE TO START FIRE IN ZAMBIA”

And Nevers Mumba in seeking advise of Elders in Muchinga says, “Lenshina uprising started here, I am also here to start the fire burning Zambia after I was advised to come here and seek guidance from the elders on how I should go about the events running up to January 20, 2015,” Mr Mumba said.

That is the consequences of being blackmailed with blood money from foreign mercenaries and Dogs of War. Because his evangelical brother Charles Taylor did it in Liberia, Nevers thinks he should do it in Zambia ka.

    • Hehehehehe! Ala Bee. He is getting endorsements from Lukuku and Msoni the political comedians. Is it a coincidence that he is only being endorsed by the Kumawa guys? Ati i will reduce travel costs and mealie meal. Go home and nurse anyina wesu odwala mudala iwe. Ndiye umambala uyu lomba

    • THESE ARE HARDCORE ZAMBIAN CRIMINALS BA WISHI. THAT’S WHY HE HAS EVEN JOINED THIS RACE. HE THINKS ZAMBIAN ARE THAT USEFUL F00LS THEY WILL VOTE FOR HIM SO THAT HE BRINGS HIS SON BACK AND RUBBISHES ALL THE ACCUSATIONS AGAINST HENRY INCLUDING ANDREW AND HIMSELF. ANYWAY, LET’S SEE IF ZAMBIANS ARE USEFUL F00LS.

    • Just look at names endorsing him, Sakala, Msoni…,make your own conclusion. RB the biggest Political reject embarks on the road to nowhere.

How does he Dream of uniting Zambia when he’s the fuel burning MMD from within?

What a total waste of people’s time ! lets reject Bwezani Banda.

    • Mr Banda you are losing it and soon you will be the most irrelevant politician on the Zambia scene. The reason is simple, you sound the same as when you lost the 2011 elections and you are only getting regional/ tribal endorsements.

  1. Time for Rupiah Banda is now. He was doing fine, had an economic agenda of development that was bringing good results, huge forex reserves, jobs, bumper crops and so on. He shall takeover to bring the growth agenda forward, grow Fr, Bwalya or anybody who is willing to join hands with him to take over from him 2 years time. RB for development. RB for growth. RB for jobs. RB for law and order. RB for sanity. RB for rule of law. RB for vision.

  2. This bustard also wants to die in state house. Too late! You had your chance centre and you became arrogant, excited and stupid. This is HH’S time

  3. We feel that the nation needs someone who will concentrate on correcting the wrongs committed by the current government in their three years of misrule, while delivering a people driven constitution free of hindrances that may be caused by any personal interest’s conflict with any of the provisions of the new constitution.

We also need someone to unify the nation by removing the regional and tribal polorisation that has engulfed the nation.

President Banda lost elections in September 2011 and handed over power peacefully. Given the state of the nation and the threat to democracy, President Banda fits the bill for the transitional leader we need to prepare the nation for an uninterrupted governance of the Jubilee leaders.

    • RB is the right candidate for the transition where PF is hijacked by the cartel that does not want its rightful candidate Mr. Lungu. The only alternative is RB to bring sanity back to Zambian politics. RB, RB and RB.

  4. Don’t you remember that it is during his time in office when people where planting money?
Can’t believe you want that again.
Besides, he is undergoing trial. What if he is found guilty and needs to be locked up, now you will have another by-election. Malabishi!

    • That is the hype created by the Cartel to keep their loot. The cartel stole from ZRA, DBZ, NAIC, Finance Bank. If there was any case by now Nchito would have got the verdict and closed the case. Shame on gullibles.

  5. When RB embarked on a massive rehabilitation and construction of the country’s infrastructure, the PF condemned him. The PF maintained that Zambians needed “more money in their pockets, lower taxes and more jobs”. These were the priorities of the PF which they promised to bring within 90 days and on which they were voted into office in 2011. But when the promises of “more money in your pockets, lower taxes and more jobs” failed to materialise, they hijacked, re-named and claimed the same infrastructural projects which RB started and planned. The people of Zambia still remember. They won’t forget where they came from and they know where they are. They also know how they got where they are.

  6. @ Suke
RB has not abandoned his wife. He is providing her the best care. His wife is convalescing. For your and all those *****s of your genre, cancer is not end of life. With proper medical care and change in lifestyle, ladies live normal life (subject to certain restraints like avoiding heavy work). There are certain types of cancers that are terminal. Wake up and keep to honest commenting than blabbering as a paid conman.

  7. RB, sorry in case you are not aware we have stopped voting people with seventy something years as presidents of Zambia. I like you, I think you did a good job in your time as president. Unfortunately the new rule, I have highlighted does not allow me to give you the vote.

    • And we do not vote anybody going through menopause change cycle. Anybody between 50 and 60 is not considered by us. One has to be either below 50 or above 60 to be President of Zambia.

  8. THE AGE FACTOR IN THE 2015 ELECTION IS IRRELEVANT because if Sata did not die, Zambia was going into 2016 with a 79 year old president. If RB, an age mate of Sata took over in January, it would not change what Zambians committed to in 2011. Besides, RB will only serve 18 months during which period, younger leaders can prepare for the election of the future in 2016. I agree with other bloggers here that this is a transitional period and we need top elect the best transitional candidate which is automatically RB

  9. at least there is no Kambwili or Kaseba. Let’s here how Edgar will professionalise the foreign service and give the cabinet a national charater

    • From the archives of LT.
“Unlike you l have not drunk the Magande cool aid! This is the man who kept the national purse when copper was at its highest but has nothing to show forth in terms of infrastructure built-this is the man who sold zanaco for a song and gave kcm to the Indians -so what stewardship is she talking about. The debt cancellations were the work of jubilee 2000-this is the man who introduced fuel subsidies and maize subsidies that have drained the national coffers-l personally wold not cross the road to listen to him until he apologises for squandering the copper boom during his watch as finace minister”

  10. Rupy Poopy, good morning your vileness. I see you have failed to read the sentiments of many regarding your undesirability for said job.
Another lady (no need to name her) did the same and failed to read the sentiment of the people in the recent past. I know this is just online blogs, but it does represent a microcosm of the nation.

I’m embarrassed that you were even whining about giving up your benefits the other day – even though the law is clear.
Only 2 words for you now:

    Go away.

  11. Why can we not have RB to take us to 2016? He is the only person in Zambia that has had real hands-on experience in leading the Nation after the death of a sitting President!

And he will not be able to stand in 2016 – he will have used up his two terms.

HH as Vice will give him a chance to see firsthand what needs to be done.

AND that combo will kick these useless PF M0R0NS out for good!

  12. We can debate about politics all day long here – and no doubt the online cadres will come in and start insulting our former president.

But really this election is about a simple question:

Are you doing better today than you were in 2011? Is mealie meal cheaper today than it was in 2011? Are there any more jobs or any more money in pocket since 2011?

  13. It’s official, RB is a fool. Muhabi is an even bigger fool who is skillful at picking losers. RB you will not even make it past the process of filing nominations with the Acting CJ who also needs to vacate. Your miserable life will be spent attending court cases, petty that your wife is not getting your prime time when she needs it the most. Old fool!

The injustice done to Mumba will haunt you, Muhabi, Kaingu the other big fool, Chituwo and the rest of the washed out turn coats. Mark my words you are facing down hill. My God punish you and humble you like Nebucatenizer until you eat the bitter fruit of failure, he who presides upon the affairs of men may he show you as an example of judgement for the wicked. Your life has been shortened.

    • @Kathmandu, your hatred will kill you. More people like you spew venom, more we are determined to vote for RB to keep sell-outs of the likes of HH and Nevers Mumba out of public life. Ask your HH, how much he has spent so far on the rallies and trips he has been having, you will be surprised to know the kind of money he has paid to those who are endorsing him. Shame the politics of money. Zambia is not for sale.

  14. RB, RB, RB, ahere r u coming from.

you have decided to stand becuase you know zambians have a short memory, right? i know them, today they say a drunkard and dishonest lawyer is the man, then they r saying u r the man.

    You really think so Rupiah?

well well well rupiah, see u soon……….

  15. RB is coming to prepare the country for the 2016 general elections.

He has nothing to lose or gain. He will give Zambians their constitution

He will give Zambians a presidential running mate and 50%+1 clauses among others

He will not be seeking re election in 2016 so he is the right person to rule during this short period

RB will unite Zambians from all regions in the midst of heavy tribal divisions

He will repair the country’s battered image among international community

  16. the best you rb should have done is to bring his kabwalala son henry and pay back the money he stole from zambian through the sale of zamtel to libian dead leader and clear all his cases in the courts of laws we know you are just fooling people even though they are said to be of short memories bear in mind you are no longer a facor and you will not step in bemba land cos of what you did to nevers mumba so old rug dont just worste peoples time we know you are not using your money so cool it

  17. When did Zambians stop voting for elderly people? All those who say they have stopped are hypocritical. Just three years ago, they voted for Sata and three years earlier for Banda. Look at their members of parliament. Let’s say we reject Banda on principle, not age. Banda rejected 50 plus 1 ;percent constitution hence we are where we are.

  18. many people are failing to reason, here, the issue at hand is ,how much was the fuel, price, three years ago, how much was the dollar, fairing with our kwacha ,three years ago,

something is terribly wrong with many zambians, you prefered PF which came to worsen our standard of living in a short time, and some dull people are saying RB did not do anything, the heroes stadium was the project initiated by RB, we had formula 1 road net work which went to spread up to mufulira, ndola, kitwe luashya, and many other towns.

RB has many votes from many of us, the age factor does not hold water,we need more of RB than these confusions

  19. Ba RB please your time is over. You would better rest and give advice to young leaders. Take seriously what your son Andrew advised you or you will cry again like you did in 2011. You CANT win an election old man.

  20. Rb temutuntulu nangu cafye shani. This Man needs help frm o Men of God. He ws in power n He lost 2a very pOor party{pf},abwela nakambi bamuwine kubantu bamobene, uku ekufulungana. Ubwafya bakonto balemweba ifyo alefwaya ukumfwa elo abalipila.Honestly Lukuku emuntu wakumfwako?Msoni, Sakala.
Lesa wakutasha atupelako na comedian Rb.

  21. RB again?never!this is the man who is in courts of law over corruption, his son Henry is on the run for stealing our money,he was ever in a plane wasting our tax,his ministers buried money after stealing it in bulk,he sold zamtel for a song,he sold finance bank for nothing,he wanted to sell all Govt schools, changed law over abuse of office to suit his stealing!RB’s evil deeds can be endless!Hey God please not RB again!

  22. Viva HH Viva UPND

Old RB should be rejected, Sata another old man has just left agony and confusion as his legacy.
Only HH can bring our nation to the levels of the rest of the world.
    Vote HH, vote UPND.

  23. …not all that glitters is gold….not all grey hair is a sign of wisdom….how on earth can this old man behave like this sure…..??….I can never waste my vote on him ever…..

  24. As much as we believe RB has experience , that does not count God blesses every one differently .
He is not very successful businessman his son was interfering by fun contracts
Barotse issue people died in his hands
His just a UNIP luck old man he should thank Levy Mwananwasa

    • Beg to differ my sister Hu. Most of the people who are successful civil servants are not good business people. Business people are generally cunning, like HH, Muna Hantuba, Chilupi and Valentine Chitalu. They are cunning, double faced people. They act like vultures, live and survive on dead bodies, more the merrier for them. privatisation exercise, grabbing businesses started by others, grabbing parastatals at rock bottom prices, creating fear and pressure from IMF, World Bank and donor community as a screen behind which they do their deals and enrich themselves. On your standard of successful businessmen, the names I mentioned, they are all plunderers of National Resources but they are in your terms and as per your standards are successful businessmen. They are others but not in poli

  25. This time around, don’t cry foul if the government cuts off your benefits. You are a shameless old man who should be taking care of your younger and ailing wife. Uzalila iwe mambala. don’t lose even the little respect that late Sata gave you back. don’t think we have forgotten about dogs and trees wearing your party regalia and your thieving son you used who is still AWOL.

  26. I don’t think RB’s fairy dream will ever come true. He is out to embarass himself, his family, and Zambians. Andrew might have smelt the bad egg not to support his father.
