Some Patriotic Front (PF) cadres in Lusaka have gone on rampage attacking United Party for national Develoment (UPND) sympathizers. This is according to UPND’s Information and Publicity Chairman Mr Charles Kakoma who disclosed the information in Lusaka today.

Mr kakoma has also revealed that the same PF cadres are going round Lusaka town tearing UPND’s campaign posters replacing them with those of Defence and Justice Minister Edgar Lungu.

The latest attacks on UPND’s supporters were recorded yesterday in various parts of Lusaka town when some PF cadres wielding various offensive weapons, including pangas, pounced on UPND followers injuring several of them.

The PF cadres also damaged several stalls suspected to be owned by UPND members in various markets around Lusaka.

Mr Kakoma has since advised PF not to spread its internal wrangles to other political parties.

He said that the tearing of other political parties’ campaign materials by PF cadres amounted to committing a crime and a blatant violation of the Electoral Act.

Mr kakoma reminded that the fact that UPND was a peaceful party and believed in coexistence must not be taken as a weakness.

He said that the party is capable of defending itself and will indeed be forced to defend itself if it comes under such attacks, as institutions supposed to do so are just watching.

  1. All lies, I am sure.

These UPND guys will not fall short on creating stories in an effort to blacken PF, ESPECIALLY Lungu.

They are the ones tearing up the posters and implicating Lungu. Because they fear and covet his support base.

Supporters of HH have made many vile comments on Lungu on this site, almost hysterical in tone. They seem almost deranged. Fact is everyone knows Lungu is popular and can win it for PF. They fear him and wish to damage his image before voters. We are not so slow to note your malicious campaign.

    • @ Patriotic abroad either u give us Sampa or Lungu we will trample you as UPND come January2015.
      Its HH chabbe…….!!

    • Your tunnel vision outlook on issues will lead you nowhere. How can you deny something that people can see for themselves? Have you ever seen UPND cadres openly wielding pangas in the streets? Do you also blame the UPND for the on-going violence on PF cadres by other PF cadres?Haven’t you heard your own leaders acknowledge and speak against it in recent days? Please do not defend the indefensible.Just remember that violence begets violence and there will be no winners when that happens. Zambia belongs to all of us but some people behave as if it is theirs alone.

    • Dream on @Patriot.

As a human being like most of us, you cannot see what is happening in Zambia on the ground. Therefore your insinuations of who is tearing posters in Zambia when you are miles away is just wishful thinking and mudslinging your opponents in the hope that someone gullible may believe you. Well, you’ve just lost it because most Zambians now know what is good for them.

Lets be objective in our discussions fellow Zambians and lets identify those practicing politics of the belly even among bloggers so they don’t sway the undecided would be voters. Lets vote wisely this time.

    • So how will it differentiate you from PF, before the law?

Truth is you are also violent and I think more so in your desperation.

    • Patriot, i thought you just said that UPND were self perpatrating the violence? Have you just done a flip flop? Any Lungu supporter especially after we have seen his ‘other’ side needs their mental faculties urgently checked.

  2. These are lies. We are peaceful. Stop alarming the nation. Journalists, why do you want the masses to rise? Civil strife is not funny. Stop inciting the masses. We have no business going to attack innocent Bantustan sympathizers of a regional party, UPND.

    • Awe ba kudos imwe mulimbwa. Ati we are peaceful??!! How is that possible considering what happened yesterday? I tell you brothers it is more likely for a Mazhandu bus to go through the eye of a needle than for a pf cadre, supporter or member to show any semblance of inteligence. You are all id!ots and thats a fact not an insult.

    • @Kudos if could see I would personally teach a lesson of your life time. From now we shall defend ourselves. We shall come out victorious because Lungu believes in violence .we shall defend our votes with our blood.

  3. Onli Miles Sampa and Scot are scared of Lungu….HH i ready for anyone..Who is Edgar? Just because he acted when SATA was terminally ill!!! forget. PF is a batch of failures..

Bring them on so we see.

  4. Upto now mr. Bones is still looking for the prince of kuvukilanda. But little does he know that Lungu is the one. Has the ntonku failed him this time around??

  5. PF cadres…. as UPND caders also we will fight until the last breath if this is how U want it…. we are prepared for you…..if you start fighting opposition… it will be bad for you..bcoz concentrate first on the intra-party wrangles you have because of you corrupt practices or deals you want to hide….other wise the law will catch up with you soon— HH is winning ….. soon.. vote HH and UPND

  6. Bismarck

HH has been around since 2006,and whether he loses or not he will still be around for a very long time, and in 2016 he will still be on the ballot paper.Do you know why,its becos his supporters are not like you..they are principled…not sold to politics of the belly

  7. These are lie Mr Kakoma. You are lying man. Why, coz UPND is so violent to just surrender to PF like that. Do not lie Mr Kakoma. Do not take advantage of the small problem in PF , it will soon be over and Lungu is starting campaign soon.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  8. Is this Lungu of theirs going to be allowed to contest elections if it is true that his mother was born in Malawi? Is the Zambia police so impotent in the face of PF thugs? What a police force!

  9. but where is zp cos if they dont handle matters correctly and in a professional manner then expect trouble they delayed themselves so shouldnt panic and blame upnd

  10. Whether or not we are aware, these debates seem to lean on regional, tribal, then factional scaffolds (in that order). This “now it’s our turn” syndrome is not only divisive but also destructive. Please let us focus on issues. We have a nation to build, and we are even late as it is. If politics was based on integrity, all the other players should have let the PF complete their five – year mandate without ado, the nonsensical wrangling in PF ought not have been so shamelessly staged. From a neutral platform, give PF enough rope up to 2016. We can only have the mandate to judge them after that.
