Acting President Guy Scott has implored investors to study Zambia and identify areas of investments.

Dr. Scott says any investor that wants to come to Zambia will realize that the country is actually good at peace and therefore a conducive destination for investment.

Speaking this morning when he officially opened a two day Zambia Investment Conference organized by Pangaea Securities Limited in collaboration with the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) in Lusaka today, Dr. Scott says Zambia has managed to survive and preserve its peace in many difficult times.

Dr. Scott says on the other hand the country has a enormous appetite for long term financing.

He says this appetite is however not being met because investments the country has been receiving are short term.

The Acting president says this is why he thinks that investors should begin to study Zambia and the see many opportunities it offers for investment.

Speaking earlier at the same conference, Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Robert Sichinga has reassured investors that their investments in country will always be protected.

Mr. Sichinga says investors should also take note that when they invest in Zambia they are in fact not investing in the landlocked country alone, but in the two regional bodies SADC and COMESA to which Zambia is a member.

And ZDA board Chairperson Songowayo Zyambo has expressed excitement that some delegates attending the conference are investors that have made huge investments in the country.

Meanwhile Pangaea Securities Limited board Chairperson Jacob Mwanza says his company believes that over the two days of the conference, real growth opportunities will be shared in non-traditional sectors including fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), Telecoms, Media and Technology, Logistics and Distribution, Infrastructure and Construction as well as Agri-processing.

Dr. Mwanza states that Pangaea is thus delighted to have partnered with the ZDA to host the conference, noting that the Agency has over the years been an important gateway into Zambia.

    • @Mushota: Guy Scott is not a Foreigner?? how do you define a foreigner? based on the color of their skin of country of birth??

I think we need to revoke the BB2014 title?

    • @ka Mushota Karma a foreigner.? Calm your tits and take a seat….do you think you half cast son can rule where you are in Scotland.?

  1. Good. Back at work. Now if the others can take a hint and revisit their offices they might actually be seen to be earning their keep – until January when the voters have their say. To think we have a COMESA 20th anniversary conference in the country watching the children play. Give tax payers their monies worth kids – back to the mill. Chuckle.

  2. Old man Sata was wooing investors for 3 years and nothing came of it but the usual lies that he took with him to Embassy Park.
These leaders of yesterday are tired….instead of focusing on local investors and innovations; they are forever pleading to foreigners to bleed us dry.

  3. I want to strongly urge my fellow Zambians in diaspora to consider going back home to assist our country develop for the betterment of our children’s future and indeed our grand children.

I visited Zambia recently and what I discovered, in business sense was overwhelming. There’s so much one can do now and I could “see millions” of dollars lying around, just waiting to be picked up…

I was not surprised therefore to note, the entire KLM flight to Lusaka with over 300 passengers, we were perhaps only 5 Zambians therein; all were mzungus and notably British trooping back. Somalis too have taken over Kapiri Mposhi, Chinese are now living in townships including “kwa George”, Misisi and Chawama compounds. Land around Lusaka, Chisamba, Chongwe Mkushi areas are all fenced off by…

    • @mwape, good call out, just in case you are new to this blog (LT) then welcome!

This is the point we are making but just to give you a heads up of where we at.
      – PF lied about the new constitution that will allow you and I in the diaspora dual citizenship to go back and to Zambia and help develop our country
      – I am not sure about you but most of my friends in the US and UK have children that were born outside Zambia and are regarded as foreigners in our own country of birth
      – All great nations I know of allow dual citizenship US/UK
      – Zambia is three times the size of the UK with a meager population of just 14 million when the UK has over 65 million
      – Zambia is in need of numbers (population) to propel the economy
      – The late president and his mute ministers could not understand…

    • I am on my way back. It’s amazing we provide a a good environment for these Westerns while we struggle here.

  4. …by these mzungus. Ma guys, please let’s go back otherwise, you will find that even at state house, there’s a mzungu…

    • I think I took that flight TO Zambia and found myself at the back of the queue for citizens. The other 4 blacks were the foreigners. Chuckle.

  5. This is a muzungu with with his heart in Scotland. He messed up big time since his “friend” passed on. I resent the horrible racist attitude that he potrays. Sketchly Sachika was not wrong! HH was not wrong either. They saw through the veneer and his mouth always betrays him.

  6. Pls pf stop confusing Guy Scott he is zambian give him respect 4 betterment of our country pls pls he has no ambitious of becoming a president even u Edgar u’re fighting a losing battle u cannot be a president never with those kambova friends of your and stop firing pipo becoz if HH becomes a president he will deal with u all thugs.

  7. ivwe Sage leave ba Scott alone. Your family member Lungu will never rule Zambia. Scott is a Zambia who has done a lot than you who might be cleaning toilets in the diaspora. Sata himself is the cause for the confusion in PF. Jay Jay, i agree with you. sata was said to woo even japanese. But no one came & no president except Mugabe came during his time.
