High Court sets December 10 for ruling on Nevers Mumba and RB case

Share

High Court

The High Court has reserved ruling in a matter in which MMD president Nevers Mumba is challenging his suspension from the party and the consequent adoption of former President Rupiah Banda as presidential candidate for the January 20 election.

This is a matter in which Dr Mumba has applied for an order of interim injunction to stop the MMD national executive committee (NEC) from suspending him from the party.

When the matter came up for inter parte hearing before High Court judge Chalwe Mchenga, Dr Mumba said through his lawyer that that he would not be able to lead the party.

He said the court should confirm the ex parte order, adding that it can restore particular situations such as Dr Mumba’s presidency until the matter is resolved.

And MMD national secretary Muhabi Lungu said through his lawyer Abyudi Shonga that the court should discharge Dr Mumba’s application.

Mr Justice Mchenga reserved ruling for December 10 this year.

    • Liar, time waster. Be objective. Mangwam. What Katondo boy- useless. Zambians have moved on, the answer to our problems remains UPND. Very focused party

    • Katondo Boy is confused with all that green sausage he eats at the corner of Stanley Bar on Freedom Way. Leave him be.

    • Just to let you know that your so-called campaign is fruitless and mere rhetoric. wake up!!!!! There are certain things u cannot have power over. Open your eyes and learn to analyse issues. Sorry for you………

  1. Pastor, The Pulpit is calling and not politics. Where is all this cry for MMD you said God had told you that we should never allow it to dislodge UNIP from power doing so a civil war was awaiting Zambia. God is not a son of man to lie or turn on his words. We are over 23 years now MMD ruled for 20 years with no civil war. What happened to your NCC party and Zambian shall be saved dream??? Souls are calling instead of just insulting through your rascal called Lusambo.

  2. MMD is fighting, PF is fighting, please continue with your fights. However, we have already identified a disciplined party on the ground. No pangas involved, no threat to our peace, our children are safe with UPND. I have never been UPND but have just joined them after a careful analysis of behaviors on the ground and also the performance of the late PF which has been dismal. I asked myself a question of what benefit there is to vote PF when life is unbearable under their rule

  3. Katondo street kid please dont bring your street jokes here! Keep them at Katondo with your unemployable scoundrels! Why would a grown man support his adversary? Only makes good for discussion chit chat at Katondo’

  4. I`ll only vote for MMD if the candidate is RB. Nevers stands no chance to win as a ward chancellor let alone republican president. This is the guy who failed to be MP for Chinsali the place he claims to be his home town

  5. @Katondo boys.

  6. My suspicion is why NYAMA SOYA is so desperate to go back to State House. Even going to the extent of being ready to loose his retirement benefits and using arm-twisting methods to take over the leadership of the Party. There is something fishy. I can smell some strong coffee. Anaibala Nyanga zake ku State House. Nimfwiti m’dala uyu.

  7. if HH will lose this time, than C Mweetwa should take over as UPND president. mweetwa you have the potential. you cant always be a shadow of HH. wake up young man…if it is money we shall donate

    • Nevers can kiss my bottom inside out and shove some sausages in it ; evans mfula at evaduco reporting live from lusaka
