And JA Zambia executive director Teddy Nyasulu says his organization is carrying out experimental education in work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy to more than 8,000 youth annually through its 100 volunteers.
This is according to the JA report received by ZANIS in Lusaka yesterday.
The report revealed that nearly 600 million young people aged between 15 and 24 were unemployed or underemployed throughout the world.
The 28 percent of unemployment was attributed to lack of skills applicable in work places and strict employment regulations which favour experienced workers.
And JA Zambia executive director Teddy Nyasulu says his organization is carrying out experimental education in work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy to more than 8,000 youth annually through its 100 volunteers.
Mr. Nyasulu noted that interventions highlighted by the report call for collaboration between government, educational institutions and the civil organizations.
He said this in a statement availed to ZANIS in Lusaka yesterday.
The JA worldwide report was aimed at igniting a conversation about the role the organization needed to play in youth economic development.
The organization is one of the largest global Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to addressing fundamental social and economic challenges of young people through education and empowerment.
