The Zambia Centre for Social Development ZCSD has called for the immediate resignation of PF Presidential candidate Edgar Lungu as both Justice and Defense Minister.
ZCSD Executive Director Lewis Mwape says Mr. Lungu should relinquish is ministerial positions as continuing to hold is government positions while he is traversing the nation caniversing for votes is tantamount to day robbery of tax payers.
Mr. Mwape Says Mr. Lungu cannot continue drawing to salaries and allowances from two ministries when he is busy campaigning and not attending to the duties for which he was appointed to save.
He adds that Mr. Lungu’s resignation from the two ministerial positions will demonstrate his integrity and accountability and show the public that he can be trusted as a leader.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mwape has called on political parties to disclose their sources of funding so as to avoid unnecessary suspicion from the public as well as the country being dictated by foreigners in case of them funding parties.
He further said not disclosing the source of funding is also a recipe for corruption hence the need for full disclosure by political parties.
This is contained in statement released to the media by Mr. Mwape.
Easier said than done by very proponents.
EL knows he doesn’t have the capacity to impress. He simply won’t let go his numerous ministerial positions. Otherwise, he will soon be joining the rank and file of the jobless.
Why do we need to shout from the top of mountains for “non issues”.
Whether or not Lungu is Justice Minister and Defence Minister or even Acting President, dont just vote for him or the PF.
People in villages wont even know what a defence or justice minister does. Go and educate them to vote wisely…whichever way you believe is best for them and best for Zambia

Did RB resign his position as Republican Vice President in 2008?
RB was Acting president so he could not resign his position because more like an incumbert president. Thats why bashi Nono complained about muzungu opusa because he knew that if, say Edgar was vice presido when Sata died it would have been easier to campaign as acting president without anybody raising a finger that he is abusing Govt resources. Hope you understand.
that was just acting but substantive position for RB that time was Vice President. He did not resign. why raise a mountain out of a mole? Let us now concentrate on who campaigns to wool a larger crowd of people for good judgment before voting.

Which law says that?in case of incumbent president or vice becomes a candidate,do they resign? did Rupiah resign?which article says minister should resign?interpret well the law on use of resourses.he can only resign after winning .he was appointed by president and he can only be removed by president nt idol scott.this is an appointment and as an mp the law does not provide resignation after nomination.he is being paid rightly fo the service he renders & contractual obligation he entered with appointg authority & electorates.Edgar is not under any obligation to stop his ministerial & parlimentray duties .yalimba nkhani,pf exerting pressure on opposition.scott is now using some organisation to cry foul becoz homosexual membe has failed to decampaign pf

He is enjoying the sweet power as Chiluba described it, so in no way should you expect him to resign, he as greedy as his predecessor and neighbour Mugabe. Even if he’s holding tight to these positions, the die is cast! How long more is he going to cling to them? The writing’s on the wall because leaders are born. not made.it should have been at this time that one showed selfless leadership by relinguishing both positions as he’s vying for presidency.Then he wants to be entrusted with state coffers,what crap!
If he is afraid of loosing ministerial positions…how can he be president. Lungu is really insecure.
