United Party for National Development (UPND)president, Hakainde Hichilema, has urged Zambia to think about their problems before deciding on who to vote for in the coming presidential election.

Mr Hichilema said there are many problems the country is facing which have been caused by failed leadership.

The UPND president, who described himself as the best person to solve the problem the country is facing, has since urged Zambians to vote for him.

He urged people to vote wisely and ensure that they vote for him on January 20, next year.

Mr Hichilema added that Zambians have tried other leaders but little has changed, saying they should now try him if they want to see development.

He implored people to be his campaign managers and conduct door-to-door campaigns to ensure that he wins the presidential poll.

Mr Hichilema said this when he addressed a public rally at Kaputa Primary School ground in Kaputa district yesterday.

The UPND leader was accompanied to Kaputa by Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) Lunte Member of Parliament (MP), Felix Mutati and UPND Chairperson, Mutale Nalumango, who is also former Kaputa MP.

The UPND president has since promised the people of Kaputa that his government will work on the Mporokoso-Kaputa and Kaputa-Chiengi Roads including feeder roads once he is elected.

Mr Hichilema, who came to Kaputa by a chopper, said he has seen and has been told about the poor state of the roads in the district, saying his government will, however, work on them.

He has also promised the people of Kaputa that his government will reduce the price of fertiliser and ensure timely payment of money to farmers who will be selling their maize to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA).

He said after improving the agricultural sector his government will also work on reducing the price of the country’s staple food – mealie meal.

Mr Hichilema also reiterated his commitment to provide bursaries up to university level to enable more people access education.

He, however, denied allegations peddled against him that he will divide the nation once elected into power.

Mr Hichilema said to the contrary he will unite the country, stating that he has nowhere to take the other part of the country which people allege he will divide.

And UPND Chairperson, Mutate Nalumango, who is also former Kaputa MP, urged the people of Zambia to vote for Mr Hichilema because he has come to politics to serve them.

Ms Nalumango said Mr Hichilema, unlike other presidential candidates, will not demand salary and other benefits that come with the Office of the President like a house as he already has them.

She said Mr Hichilema is the only candidate with a vision for Zambia as others only want to finish President Michael Sata’s term.

And MMD Lunte MP, Felix Mutati, accused the Patriotic Front (PF) of failing to deliver on its promises of more money in the pocket, job creation and taking development to Kaputa.

Mr Mutati said time has come for Mr Hichilema to rule the country, saying he is confident that he will deliver according to expectations.

He said Mr Hichilema loves the country, saying it is the reason he has not given up despite losing several times.

Mr Mutati, who gave an illustration of a woman being proposed by a man, said the pursued woman would eventually give in after seeing that the man keeps coming to her after rejecting his proposals several times.

He said Mr Hichilema has also done a lot for the country while in the private sector and he should be given a vote to go to plot one.

    • Ba mutati what as HH done for this country in the private sector? Please Ba mutati don’t mislead you relatives. In the private sector he made himself rich, we have not forgotten his role in the selling of our mines and other companies, Mutati you will be answerable to God for pushing an agent of Satan on your poor relatives. Lastly just keep on eating his dirty money. Mutati we also remember you the role you played in getting money out of Zesco to fund MMD.

    • I know for certain that I am not the best person to solve Zambia’s problems so I am happy to give way to one of the remaining millions to give it a fair shot… I like trying new things. I too will be on the ground but cannot vote so will be there to make noise and be happy for the right winner… Chuckle.

    • Yes, he is the best. We are tired of mediocrity in PF and MMD. It irritates. Zambia is a great country. Zambians are by an large peaceful people. We deserve better. We deserve a better country. We don’t deserve all this poverty that PF, MMD and UNIP have imposed on us. It’s high time we mobilized ourselves out of the shackles of our self-imposed slavery and vote for our own liberty. HH is the man. He is the best man to help us realize true liberty and economic freedom.

    • @banda u will make a mistake. If he is the right leader why didnt he luz three times? Pipo dont think like him. All he will have to say he is desparate and has gon to luapula to learn how to disappear and reappear in state house

    • Correct, Zambia needs a leader that truly believe in the massive potential of this blessed land and sets high targets for the country. NO vision NO vote.

  1. LUNGU TRAILS ‘HH’ IN OPINION POLLS
A latest opinion poll indicates that opposition UPND candidate Hakainde Hichilema (HH) would win the presidency if elections were conducted today, relegating the ruling PF’s Edgar Lungu into second place by more than 20 percentage points.
The poll, which ran on Zambian Eye’s Facebook page, involved candidates from six major political parties that have confirmed participation in the January 20, 2015 presidential election.
The six are Hichilema, Lungu, Edith Nawakwi of FDD, Tilyenji Kaunda of UNIP, NAREP’s Elias Chipimo Junior and Rupiah Banda who is representing the former ruling party, MMD.
The UPND’s HH accounted for a whopping 57.7%,
While his closest rival Lungu got 35.6%. ,
Former President Banda came a distant third with 1.7%.

    • @ Maria Malama…

You are right PF has aleeady CONCEDED DEFEAT they are on the exit, I just hope that Lungu will hold it together AFTER 20 January 2015.
The victory for HH WILL BE LANDSLIDE more than 60% of the votes.
      Its HH chabbe.

    • Facebook Opinions Polls? And how many participated and from where do they come? Are they Zambians with voters cards? Who conducted? Anyway, it’s just an opinion poll, we need the real polls results.

  2. HH, you are not the best person to solve our many challenges, from your statement I can see that you are not a humble person. Any way what do we except from a person who belongs to a cult.

Fellow Zambia be warned this man can easily become a dictator, people who look down upon others can be dangerous. The bible teaches us to consider others better than ourselves. Philippians 2 the whole chapter. Secondly this is the same chap who when others join camps with his opponents those who are perceived to be dirty his party will quickly jump and say this one and that one are corrupt. We are watching you dear HH.

    • Lungu is a small boy, weakling who cant match HH in everthing : Health wise, Education wise, wealthy wise intellectual wise etc.

    • But your e lung is a moslim and wise people don’t concentrate on such. Remember Zambia is a Christian nation but he has been given chance. Please we need issue to be brought out.

    • HH is not the man God has given us, if you vote for him please don’t say that God has given you this man us. Remember what happen to the Israelis they forced one man called Absalom in the eyes God to have him as there king the out come are there in the bible for us to learn. The problem is with us Zambians if some one has pot full of money we conclude that this man can turns things to the good of all Zambians. How did HH made the money? PLEASE answer me. Who is funding Him PLEASE answer me. What as he promised his funders in return PLEASE answer me.

  3. The determining factor in this election really is turn out. I really do not see the vote swinging in Copperbelt, Lusaka (maybe), Luapula and Northern Provinces.

    • Ba Aleshaday

Whether you insult me I don’t care I have a sound mind and I don’t insult, insults belongs to people who can not reason. I talk a bout my God because I know Him thru his Son my Lord and Saviour who died for me. Keep on supporting you man HH but don’t insult other who don’t support your man. Lastly we speak of what we know about your man. Ask him of the meeting the had with some business man in south Africa, in attendance was HH, NEVERS, AND RUPIAH BANDA. Who are the conditions of the monies the have and still receiving from there funders. We value and Love our country therefore no one should sell our heritage from God. God bless you Ba Aleshaday.

  4. Who did he consult for him to declare to be the best person for the problem zambia is facing. Again one should wonder if he was reffering Kaputa to Zambia, as far as im concerned an average zambians are not facing the problem as perceived by Hakainde, if he was told and now he has seen the road net work in Kaputa does not make him that all the Roads are in the same state.Let him just point out whatever he has done for this very country which has made him become rich

    • Bakalamba @ Mugala I bet you dont need someone to tell you that you are the right person for a job when you re searching for a job. If you have the necessary qualification and all what it takes when asked definitely anyone will declare admit the same. Dont be a failure forever wake up and smell the coffee! Natasha bane!

  5. U are the best person son of the soil, son of my motherland, son of Africa. From my side, I would like to request u to do the following for me: (a) recognize C. Sosala; (b) I would like us to look into the possibilities of making politically motivated assaults, selling/grabbing of land illegally, killing someone through acts of witchcraft NON-BAILABLE OFFENCES; (c) reinstate illegally fired nurses and pay them all their dues; (d) review ZCF Act with a view of bringing back ZCF (Zambia Co-operative—); (e) encourage forward contracts in maize sales with neighbouring countries so that deposits can be used to pay farmers on time; (f) reintroduce national service so that youths are imparted with survival skills; (g) lastly could we be allocating nat. budget to 2 provs. per budget cycle?

  6. We are aligned. Definitely the Zambian vote is for HH. We are sick and tired of suffering. Twachula pafula. Whatever tag, they label you, you are our candidate.

  7. Thanks for your message. After your visit here in Mansa, we are behind you HH and not our own who have sharp tongues.

  10. Its HH for real. The momentum is increasing everywhere you go! Olo bazonde bazalema. No more searching as for now -its all HH till state house for social-economic revolution for a better Zambia not where only relatives & a few tribes men are recognise! We want everyone to enjoy the resources of Zambia as one Zambia one nation. Zambia is for all Zambian citizenry. VIVA HH- Government workers are with you 100% plus.Thank you Ucle Tati Flex & Mama Nalumango- we know more will join you they are only lacking proper judgement over what is on the ground.

  11. Edgar team, do not despair of these opinions. reach OUT TO ALMOST ALL RURAL AREAS AND PUT UP A VICIOUS CAMPAIGN. Don’t leave any stone unturned. Move move move move.

  12. Zambians everywhere are hurting. Poverty in Zambia is the worst you can find anywhere in the world. The country deserves better. Let us give HH a chance. PF only care about putting more money in their own pockets, while Zambians everywhere are languishing in abject poverty. This can’t be allowed to continue. It must stop NOW. Vote for HH in 2015.

  13. PF promised us did it deliver. All leaders promise what they want to deliver.EL has dissapointed me he has nothing to deliver.Am not interested in the projects if the zambian people are still in poverty.
these people deserve a better life. From all the presidents we had whom can we say followed the word of God amicably to rule the country.People let us be careful when we say certain things.Let us not judge ,let us just campaign for the better President.

  14. no doubt you are the man of the moment, just make sure you make use of the old man Vj Mwanga to watch over the vote from these chiefs, they have procured the services of saviour Chungu to rig the vote, employe youths now and place them on all border points and airports to keep watch, do not trust ECZ and ZP. we warned Mr. Mazoka of this he took it lightly.

  15. Everyone here seem like a child, me this, me that, typical African, everyone is smart abs knows all. In Europe and America people don’t talk about politics and politics not make headlines daily yet they r the most advanced people. So just shut up. Ur country is shit and ur knowledge shallow.

  16. While working with my friends in Serenje at my farm; I asked the people who they will vote for on 20th Jan 2015. The answer was “Umusungu Guy Scott wale pita naba Sata. Then I reminded that PF is featuring EL, MMD-RB, UPND – HH. They said they know RB and HH but not EL and decided to vote for RB. That is the challenge for HH and EL in the rural areas.

    • Don’t worry. Flight HH2015 will be visiting Serenje very very soon and your friend will know the best kept secret. 100% he will converted.

  17. The revelation that PF Zambia is a sister party to Mugabe’s party has made my rural community not to campaign and vote for Dictator Lunga. We ve resolved to campaign and vote for HH who wilk not lobby for salary increment and will not need Govt to build him a house. Forward with HH!

  18. HH and Mutati’s elder brother sold mines. This why Mutati is supporting HH.kkikiiii these guys will sell Zambia if elected.
Vote EL a lawyer who will protect Zambia

  19. I will cast my vote for HH with pride knowing he is the best choice in this election. I have been able to defeat the evil that makes us gravitate towards tribe and not look at merit. I think God for his grace which allowed me to break this evil.

To those folks who are still doubting now and are being cynical, give HH a chance and sublime you will feel like me. Sometimes we are prisoner to our tribal allegiances and our cynicism. But time has has come to build our country on a sure foundation of a common future. When we were children, we used to think like children. Now that we are adults, time has come to put aside childish things. United we shall achieve more but going it our ways is not better.

Support HH in this election be it by voting for him or campaigning for him. I thank…

  20. Wishful thinking! HH my foot! Whose vote’ll take him to statehouse? Its a short dream so dream on!Abash people who ascend on tribal parties!

  21. hakaivotela humwine is a wrong person to rule this country. how on does he endose himself like that??? people of dont believe this hh chap.

  22. hh wants to be staying at state house badly. never ever trust man. please hh go and stand as ward chairman so that you learn what political leadership means.

  23. hiha naiwe ulebako serious, since when did you become a problem solver for pipo. Its zedians that sorted out your problems thru privatisation.

  24. “Ms Nalumango said Mr Hichilema, unlike other presidential candidates, will not demand salary and other benefits that come with the Office of the President like a house as he already has them.”

She echoed in truth what HH himself said.

  25. The only reason (and I do mean the 1 and only reason) I think Hakainde can be president of Zambia is, Sata did it. If Sata did it, anyone can. And I don’t think it’s possible to do any worse than Sata.

Sorry for setting the bar so low for Hakainde.

  26. My word I have been quiet reading these fanatical comments from old timer ZWD and UPND bloggers like wanzelu along with HH’s family members like Pretty and others. If this is HH’s support base rest assured no one in their right mind will ever vote for HH, only tribalists and foreign based UPND thugs and thugeresses will.

HH will lose in 2015 and in 2016 Zambians are not fools to vote for someone who is party to theft and tribalism.

    ***VIVA EDGAR LUNGU 2015***

  27. Sometimes you would wonder why people listen to these stupid politicians lie to them. Honestly guys are you telling the Zambians that since independence it can only be HH as the best person to rule this nation?I totally disagree and I do not agree with Mutati giving an example of a man being persistant on proposing to the same woman several times that he means well that woman. The late President how many times did he lose before he finally got it?What did you call his government or calling his government now.Same fake promises.Mutati you have been there in government what are you telling us about the people you worked with while in government? Just say you are looking for a job.Very soon if HH carries the day on the 20th Jan,2015 he will have names,we all know that.To cut the story short as
