United Party for National Development(UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema has promised to reduce the price of fertiliser, electricity tariffs and introduce soft loans to benefit taxi drivers once he is voted into power.

Mr Hichilema said this when he addressed a mammoth rally at Mpezeni Park Square who brave the heavy downpour in Chipata today that once voted into power he would reduce the price of fertiliser in order to benefit all the farmers.

He said this was to ensure more small scale farmers benefit from the government subsidised farming inputs.

Mr Hichilema who had earlier addressed another rally in Chadiza District said that it was sad that the under the Patriotic Front(PF), most of the farmers had remained unpaid despite selling their inputs to the Food Reserve Agency(FRA).

He said his government would ensure that it addresses the plight of the farmers in the country.

He pledged that his government is going to reduce electricity tariffs which he said were so high to the consumers.

He also pledged to introduce soft loans to benefit taxi drivers in order to own their vehicles.

And former Provincial PF Chairperson Lameck Mangani has said that he divorced himself from the ruling party because of the confusions.

Mr Mangani who is former Chipata Central Member of Parliament said that he was bitter with the non availability of good markets for the farmers.

A number of figures addressed the crowd including Former Justice Minister Hon. Sebastian Zulu, Former Mines Minister Hon. Maxwell Mwale, Independent Lubansenshi MP Patrick Mucheleka, Lunte MP Felix Mutati, Vice President of the UPND Dr Canisius Banda, Kasenengwa MP Victoria Kalima and Andrew Banda.

    • More lies from HH, only lies and false promises from this desperate politician, Zambians will not be fooled!

      ***VIVA EDGAR LUNGU 2015***

    • I promise you that the minute I walk into state house, Jesus & the angels will come from Heaven and take us in the cloud to be with our maker! This is the chance you have been waiting for Zambia to ascend into Heaven & I am the only one who can make this happen. It is there, all you need to do is vote for me!

    • Meanwhile Edgar Vodka Lungu has failed to travel to Northern Province due to “logistics”. It is not clear if Edgar and his team were sober at the time they were trying to arrange for the “logistics”. Is this the bunch of people you want to entrust with the presidency. meanwhile PF cadres in Kasama are protesting against the drunk Edgar Lungu

    • THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT ZAMBIANS DON’T WANT TO HEAR….PROMISE AND PROMISE PLUS PROMISES ON TOP OF PROMISES…..OLD SCHOOL POLITICS,

i think i will vote for Mobile Phone Gondwe,

      2015 vote PF(Edgar)

      I thank you

    • How the fcuk is the imbecil.e going to achieve this with the limited budget that Zambia has without driving up the debt. This is too much for promises. Meanwhile he is going to cut taxes for the mines. He do well without over promising. On top of that he does not have the numbers in parliament to implement these promises.

    • We don’t want promises mwana, we want results, ever since the chiluba eara we have been hearing soo many promises that if those promises came true today, Zambia’s economy would be one of the most prosperous nations today but instead its the opposite because politicians intend to forget their promises and so called hopes and dreams after winning votes.

However, HH is a man of results and that’s what makes him a go getter to make Zambia a better place unlike the selfish pastor who talks about hopes and dreams and only visits hospitals right before the elections, you got that right, he is the one and only selfish pastor nevers mumba the monney laundderer

    • One Katondo boys lied that HH ‘s rally in Chipata was a flop.

PF’s inherent lying habits will make them commit suicide the moment they hear that HH is going into statehouse.

They are bent on using tribalism yet even the architect of tribalism mantra Mmembe has gone totally quiet on the subject due to being shocked by the crowds HH is pulling all over the country.

When Zambians decide enough is enough, thats it. KK , Chiluba and Banda were booted out and yet they thought it was not going to happen.

This time PF kuyabele. Twachuula pafula, Tavutika kwambili.

      Vote HH Alubwela.

    • @ MPG, Do you know that the price of crude oil has sharply gone down! What effect do you think this might have on the price of agriculture inputs/produce. Its not rocket science to see that a reduction in the price of fertiliser is possible!

    • HH, HH and his empty promises. Where on earth will he find money to reduce fertiliser, petrol and mealie meal prices? Overtaxing formal sector workers? Overtaxing formal sector employers or printing more money? May be he will sell his cattle to pay for freebies and live happily ever after!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Empty tin, tinpot dictator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Good one Mobile phone gondwe. One way ticket to hell is what freebies bring. How long it took KK to destroy Zambian economy by his free mealie meal coupons? And contrast that with what MMD had to strive to bring back plenty of food and freedom to all? All the gains of free market economy, less government interference in business will be lost the moment HH steps in Statehouse. Either he is telling lies or promising what he knows he cannot fulfil and if fulfills Zambia will be on fast track to Zimbabwe. Choice is Ours! Go out and explain this to villagers in Mumbwa, farmers in Kadiza, Farm workers in Choma.

    • ZWD which Tonga media is cheating civil servants that they will have the salaries reduced and some of them removed from the payroll. ZWD is a network for Tongas, are UPND who are full bantustan Tongas only. They have blocked all those who are not UPND carders. PF, can you clear the speculation as it is all over the social medias?

    • The promises have piled up to 207 now.

How the fcuk does this goony expect Zambians to believe him and his utopia?

please we dont want your vipatala in our hospitals

    • Saki refuses to rejoin UPND

      By Lambwe Kachali

      Thursday June 19, 2008 [04:00]

UNITED Liberal Party (ULP) president Sakwiba Sikota yesterday said UPND president Hakainde Hichilema is not honest in his offer of reconciliation because he has failed to deal with tribalism in the party. Responding to Hichilema who on Tuesday invited him to rejoin UPND in the spirit of national unity and development, Sikota said Hichilema’s offer to the leadership and membership of ULP to rejoin UPND was not genuine and was laced with thorny issues.

Sikota accused Hichilema of playing to the gallery by using the press without apologising to the people that suffered at the 2006 UPND convention and those who were still affected by the alleged tribalism in the party. He said if Hichilema really wanted…

    • TOO MUCH PROMISES YOU ARE F00LS TO BELIEVE HH IS GOING TO DELIVER ALL THOSE PROMISES. THE FACT THAT HE IS NOT EVEN APPENDING TIME TO THOSE PROMISES TELLS YOU THAT HE IS NOT COMMITTING HIMSELF TO ANY PROMISE.

    • Oooh how I wish Zambians can give this man a chance to rule so that we see how he is going to fulfil these promises. I am in fertilizer business and what I know is that fert prices just like petroleum products(diesel, petrol, Kerosene, butmen etc are influenced by external factors. Only countries which produce oil have the capacity to control prices of these products. A country like Zambia no matter how good policies may be will always be affected by changes in world prices of these goods. Unless he says he will introduce subsides on all these products but where is he going to get the money if the same person (HH) has promised to dissolve RATSA which is the second highest revenue collector (to ZRA) in the country. Seriously speaking HH need to tone down

    • WAIT FOR 2021 MAYBE ZAMBIANS WILL BE READY FOR YOUR BACKWARD TRIBALISM IN THE MEANTIME YOU ARE LOSERS YOU KNOW IT DEEP DOWN YOUR HEARTS WA JATA NGOMBE

    • Dear Mr Emmanuel Mwamba

We all know Edgar is winning these elections.HH will never be voted into power and its becoming increasingly clear that Hon Edgar C Lungu is the 6th President of Zambia. Our tribal tactics are not working well. It looks like Zambians just want to vote for ONE EDGAR and this has made our Job very very difficult.
Meanwhile our Preferred candidate Hakainde Hichelema hasn’t been doing well ever since PF reconciled. We advised him to slow down a bit on his promises but unfortunately, he keeps on promising Zambians unachievable and unattainable promises. As you can see from his recent rally in Chadiza, only little kids came to see him because am sure they mistook him for father christmas.

on behalf of the Zambian Watchdog, Please accept our apologies.

    • And if does happen, I will change my plans and start putting things in place to head back home. This election is akin to when the US voted BHO. As my brother, Charles Mwewa says, if it happens Zambian democracy will have matured. Thanks Ba Charlie.

  1. Now this is desperation to the big man everything reduced and free things and loans to street vendors and Taxi drivers. Zambians ,you are not fulls.

  2. naikosa kwena ba HH.just go southern. In eastern it’s Edgar Lungu. It seems HH is jst remaining with southern, northwestern and parts of western province.Anyway, thanks for trying ba HH.U’ll be third come 2015.Efintu ni lungu in eastern province.Kuno ni wako ni wako.Tongas taught us a lesson therefore we can’t vote for a trabalist.Viva EL

    • Zambian

Yalimba Bola….alubana DNPU……one minute he is meeting Mmembe, the next minute is promising promises….yaba

      2015 vote PF(Edgar)

      I thank you

    • He is just wasting his time in eastern. He cant win those people they’d rather vote for RB even when he is not on any ticket. MEANWHILE KABIMBA is finishing UPND in southern province with his Rainbow Party. Sivinthu. Iliko bad for HH

  3. ONLINE NAYSAYERS

    VOTE Patriotic Front

    2015 VOTE PF (EDGAR)

    I THANK YOU,,,,,

    • You really fought hard to get him into your fold.

Greatest PF achievement since the campaign season opened: Strong arm the whiteman into our camp. Insult him first, threaten him with removal from office, call on the security fatcats to scare the bjesus outta him and then relax.

      Hehehehe

    • @ Katondo boys, I dont usually comment on political news but I think am justified to say this, your political rhetoric sir is just too overboard. You will do well if you could sober up together with your Wanzelu and lets debate the contents of what these politicians are saying. If you are a cadre, am sorry this forum might not deliver you the intended results as most of these guyz here do not vote. I for one will be travelling on the 16th so that i can vote. And the same goes to all the bloggers who want turn LT into a campaign tool…. meanwhile some of you are failing to arrange transport to go for campaigns in kaputa were the real voters are. Tomorrow you want to give us more rhetoric that you want to establish an airline……h0w can you if you are even failing to organise a campaign

    • The promises look like too many because you are so used to suffering. You can’t see just how badly you have it.

This guy is talking about things that are achievable – for everyone. Fertiliser and reduced electricity tariffs tefintu (borrowing a word from your camp).

Ifintu kwikala bwino. It’s possible. That’s why a lot of us live elsewhere, where stuff like this is normal.

Try him and you may discover what I’m talking about.

  4. Its a pity that PF supporters cannot read the mood of the people. PF had its time but have spoilt it by their greed for leadership. A house divided cannot stand. PF have given the presidency to HH on a silver platter.

  5. When you’re used to having so little, your expectations are accordingly lowered.

What Mr. Hichilema is telling you is not ‘heaven’ as one blogger said. It’s the norm for people who live in well managed economies. In fact this is just blah….There are a lot more benefits that a populace have access to, when the economy is in the right hands.

If you think this is not possible, then you haven’t lived yet!!

    • You are a very funny chap! Look at the flag besides my post, these promises are a pie in the sky at best & Heaven on the extreme! Try coming up with this tosh in Britain & see how many people would even start to take you seriously. This is nonsense & it will never happen, you know it, I know it & HH knows it but he is hoping enough fullish Zambians will be lured to believe in his Heaven on Earth!

    • At least my resident stalker has now been reduced to just downvoting me from afar. That I can live with.

The bad breath was a different matter.

    • Yah right. We have a budget of $20Billion. Smaller than most cities in North America. In your dreams. This is just desperation and immoral to lie to the poor raising their expectation just for power. He wants too much. Either you raise taxes to finance the social programs or cut the programs. He is encouraging vendors, which is unlawful in Zambia. He is promising mines he will cut taxes. How is he going to finance all these programs? Think

    • @Mobile Phone Gondwe

There are many facets of Britain.

The fact that You consider this tosh tells me which impoverished facet of British life you have experience of.

      Again, you haven’t lived yet.

    • I said you are a very funny chap & I again repeat, you should grab a pack of pop-corns, gather around a fireplace, say these stuff to yourself & have a laugh, you are funny & I give you that one. I am not going to lower myself to your level my sweet friend but I will say this, if you are not part of the less than 1% high earners in Britain, I suggest you sit down!

    • @Mobile Phone

There is a 1% in Britain that I can’t even talk about – they are that rich they’re out of my realm of experience.

I’m talking about the ordinary 9-5-er. Like I and presumably you.
What Mr. Hichilema is offering the ordinary Zambian is a means out of poverty – to reach a basic level where they can pay their electric bill, put food on the table and own their own taxi.

Again, I ubderstand that maybe these things are inconceivable to you

    • welcome back Jesse Wa mu town..this is the difficulty I have explaining to PF supporters that they really have it bad in Zambia. The roads that they get excited about are a duty of the government to maintain. They are not a gift to you as citizens. All the roads and streets I drive on in Europe are well lit. Infact, they so well lit that you would not find a place to take a splash anywhere (urinate) Take for instance Belgium, the country is visible up in space looking down due its high electrification. To you, it may sound like a pipe dream but that’s the reality of things. A nation without good health is a nation as good as DEAD.We want to aggressively change the health sector and modernise it immediately. A healthy nation is a hard working nation. More prduction=cheaper prodct&Serv

    • Listen old fella, I have practically given you all the hint in the world that you would require to get you out of your self inflicted quandary. You are clearly not up to scratch – I am not going to go on about it any further, it is no use. You appear to be stationed in the USA & it maybe along those lines that my lingual isn’t doing it for you. I would put on a different hat had I much time but not this time I am awfully sorry.

    • ?Mobile Phone Gondwe, there is no word “fullish”.
Do you mean “foolish”? I bet not even a 2 year old can fail to spell the word.

    • @One hit Wonder
It’s good to be back my brother. I hope you had a great christmas. Now to the task at hand….

      @Mobile phone Gondwe
Your response to me is unclear, and horribly articulated. Except the part where you say you’re leaving.
Go, and think on these things while you’re gone. The rest of us will stay and fight for what we know is achievable for our countryfolk.

  6. Nobody on the ground is talking about change of Govnt like it was in 2011 or 1991.only on the minds of few oppositions or tongas!PF is still very popular on the ground!HH keeps on making fake promises without stating how he can fulfil that!we are not dull my dear to buy in your fake promises!IFINTU NI LUNGU-PERIOD!PLUS NO MATTER WHAT,EDGAR WILL WIN IN EASTERN!

    • Are you implying that Easterners are so dull as to vote for a guy who is even failing to fulfil his own campaign schedule simply because his name comes from there despite being CB born and bred and does not even speak fluently their languages? Do you understand that Eastern province has never been a PF stronghold and therefore for grabs by any party considering the squabbles in the MMD?

  7. We need this man because he is visionary and his promises are achievable. For example, he is surrounded by knowledgeable and skilled people.

By being surrounded by knowledgeable people HH can form a government able to employ appropriate economic management action plans needed to examine certain possibilities that could affect the achievement of his promises.

The forthcoming presidential election is a futile event if the electorate does not vote for a leader with a clear and actionable vision in the name of HH to turn election promises into positive socio-economic reality.

If you want to see Zambia’s unexploited economic muscle lift people from their craters of poverty – vote for HH.

    • @Sara

The lack of self-preservation coupled with a lack of self-esteem is astounding.

That’s the only reason a Zambian that is not in the upper echelons of the PF would cast a vote for ‘more of the same’

    • @Sara I agree with you 100%. In Zambia there is a generation that doesn’t known where they are coming from or where they are going. Politics in Zambia has deteriorated so much that you feel like crying. We no longer have the intellect that even the one party state of KK’s government had. We have Ministers who cannot even analyse simple national issues apart from being either violent or tribal/racist. In all fairness, HH is the only candidate running a clean campaign and with a united team. These are the ingredients you need for any ruling party which are absent from both the MMD and PF. I am sure the Zambians will vote wisely and usher HH in state house. Long live Zambia.

    • @@@Sara, Fred, Blago, Jessie,,,all you people are true to your motherland. You are as consistent in your arguments as HH.

He is indeed the only candidate who sees potential in Zambia and Zambians. I have nothing against Edgar, but the guy started out wrong and has been consistently wrong.

You cannot say to the electorate, “I have no vision of my own.”

      What???

That is the end of discussion right there!
And then you allow a lunatic to get on stage and begin to haul obscenities at your opponent. As though that was not enough, you remain mute damn about it.

Show a little muscle, demonstrate that you are in control. NOTHING!

No contest here, really. You gotta rig the election to win this one Edgar. Kaleza che!

  8. But Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni people refused to meet Hichilema and also denied him permission to hold his meeting there.
The Ngoni Chief attributed his refusal to Hichilema’s failure to follow procedure and “the attacks he recieves from his online paper that’s always speculating about his death”.
Mpezeni’s Induna, George Zulu stated that Hichilema as a leader aspiring to be President must respect customs and tradition.
“These are just politics and this campaign will be over by 20th January 2015. Tradition and Culture have outlived politics and politicians. Hichilema should therefore respect our culture”
And earlier Hichilema suffered another setback when Chief Kalindawalo of the Nsenga people in Petauke also refused to meet Hichilema for his allegedly failure to…

    • @Katondo boy,,,when will you begin to talk about issues?

Simple question. Name place and time.

Nothing of that nature is coming out of your camp so far.

  9. We were ONE then, and we are ONE again. The PF train is in full steam, no one will get in the way of Zambians having a better Zambia, a more developed and modern Zambia. We the PF are capable of making a better Zambia for all. I must say it feels good to have all my colleagues in the same boat.
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I spent time with my lovely children.
Remember on the 20th January “ifintu ni Lungu”

    2015 vote PF(Edgar)

    I thank you

  10. Santa clause!!!!! To start the budget for 2015 is a pf budget so the president who wins the January polls must work with it so wen campaigning you say in 2016 if I win the polls will do this and that……

  11. Good ba UPND. These are attainable promises.
If Countries with less sunlight like here in UK are busy helping home owners with loans to acquire solar panels and generate power, and sell surplus power to the national grid, then I can confidently say yes, its possible to reduce electricity bills for it citizens. What’s more, citizens get revenue.
If private individuals can buy Taxis and employ drivers on condition that ‘x’ amount of revenue per week be cashed in, and once the agreed accumulative total is reached the driver becomes the owner of the Taxi, then I can confidently say yes, its possible to loan citizens money for Taxis.
Thats the HOW. HH is a successful businessman and a consultant, when he says something, he will have thought it thru first.

    • Well Said, Its so sad that we have people on this blog who can’t see that. It beggars belief that some people still want to continue with Pama F…!!!

    • Shut up you economic refugee. Which UK? Those countries are damn broke! You guys there pretend to be doing good, but we know it’s hard out there. £20 per four hours and you think that’s life.

Edgar Lungu is the sixth President of Zambia like or or not.

    • I wish Miles Sampa could be in the HH team to contribute on the taxi idea which he is similarly implementing in his constituency

  12. Great crowds!

Nothing complex bout the promises HH is making; is giving loans to taxi drivers, and reducing tariffs and price of fertilizer, paying farmers on time over promising?

HH is an entrepreneur, what he means is that his Government will clamp down on corrupt and theft activities in public institutions, and the money saved from there will go toward fulfilling the social and economic promises he is making.

  13. LUANGWA RESIDENTS DECLARE THE PLACE NO GO AREA FOR OPPOSITION
LUANGWA residents on Friday told acting president Dr Guy Scott that the district is a no go area for the opposition because the Patriotic Front (PF) government has delivered on its promises.
The residents said when the late president Michael Sata went to campaign, he promised to tar the Luangwa Bridge – Feira road, build a secondary school and a hospital in the area.
The government has since completed the tarring of the 91 km stretch, the building of Feira secondary school and construction of the district hospital.
Dr Scott said, “The PF is finding it easy to campaign, we just point at the project that have been completed and those going on as our campaign message.”

    • Katondo, I thought you`re supposed to be reporting about Edgar Lungu`s rallies in Northern Province. Oh—— I`m told the guy has just done a Don`t-Kubeba on his scheduled rallies.

  14. Even chief licker Maureen has realized that these are too many lies that cannot be believed, that’s why she is kneeling for votes.

    It’s Edgar Lungu fye

    • Don’t you see what you just said is counter intuitive? She flies with HH on the chopper, “don’t you think she could have have leaned over his shoulder and say, don’t say what you just said at the next stop?” She believes what HH says because knows he is not a john solyo bwali.

Get on the team of the can-do people! It’s not too late.

  15. Reducing electricity tariff? Oh no, the end of ZESCO! There will be Diesel Genset all over as blackouts will be the massive!

Is this coming from an economist really, reducing the already very low tariffs in the Region, ma am ee. It is now finished. Loans to taxi drivers, where on earth? These are surely kicks of a dying horse.

Ask Mutation, what did do when he was ZESCO Director of Finance? He was borrowing money to pay salaries in case you don’t know and those are your campaign mates, silly.

Ask Mutati what did do when he was ZESCO Director of Finance? He was borrowing money to pay salaries in case you don’t know and those are your campaign mates, silly.

    • You dwell so much on failure and mediocrity. You will always be drunk in opaque brews and wallow in poverty generation after another.

Try seeing potential. You will always be sober and record incremental scores, generation after another until poverty is relegated to the fringes of your society.

  17. I think HH HAS NOW GONE MAD. CAN SOMEONE REMIND HIM THAT THIS IS JUST TOO MUCH OF PROMISES. NO EVEN VETERAN POLITICIANS HAVE MADE SUCH PROMISES IN THE POLITICAL HISTORY OF ZAMBIA.

IS THIS THE END OF HH?

    • @Polyo
I’ll take your last sentence in good faith and respond accordingly:

No it’s not the end of HH. If he isn’t elected president, it’s the end for poor Zambians to clamber out of poverty. He isn’t doing this to get rich, he already has a considerable fortune (I’ve heard ‘billionaire’ bandied about.) which he built from nought.
He’s asking for a chance to raise Zambia’s fortunes – just like he did his own.

Now tell me Polyo, why on earth wouldn’t you want this?

  18. No madness but it’s real!! Your Lungu fell sick that’s why he failed to go. Campaign is a tight program!! Honestly can we accept that it’s logistics??? Let’s be honesty!! What does this really mean!! No adequate preparations!! And you preach and deceive people of winning!! Total lie and fabrication of stories! By the way how do you go to a welding on a Christmas instead of addressing the nation on issues affecting people!! Better HH and Mumba who went to share their XMAS with the poor and sick!!

    • How can a hypocrite HH go to celebrate Christmas when he openly abhors Christmas? He is a follower of Moses (not Jesus) and what Moses justified is well documented and known to Christians.

  19. HH whether called tribalist or satanist we will vote for him & will win.We tried the so called not tribalists or christians who were ruling Zambia using their known ten commandments but their results were diabolical hellish. Now we want this so called tribalist or satanist by all means also to rule Zambia. Call HH all the evil names & things till you fill the whole world & extend those names & labels to heaven-you are remaining with 18 days to do that.We will still vote enamasses for HH. This time we want quality & visionally president.

  20. Please advisors to HH advise him properly. The man is behaving as if he is not economist. You can’t reduce electricity tariffs and Fertilizers overnight. Unless you subsides them. Now remember 1984-86 problems we had in Zambia. Thats what these statements by inexperience HH mean for Zambia. Oncve we subsides we have a budget overun , no donor fiunding, no medicines and delayed salaries for councils snd civil servants. This guy is a loose canon that must be stop at 20th January, 2015. Afterall the current budget has no provision for such maybe he thinks his campaign for 2016. Poor HH. You are not fit to be president. Just be a businessman.

  21. Just in case some people are not aware-ZESCO makes a lot of monies but it is being run by cadres.I have a living testimony to this fore. The management of ZESCO get huge allowances & salaries than civil servants. For example a meter reader getting 6000, a secretary getting 7000 per month. When it comes to DCs salary 18000 plus housing allowance 7000.Now talk of PS & their deputies;useless ministers & their deputies. Now go to Zampost, then go to Zamtel, continue then go to Zambia railways,RDA,Police Traffic Officers, RATSA,ZRA,NAPSA,ZSIC,DEC,…all these institutions are under productive & are not properly managed & have a lot of cadres with no proper qualifications. These are some of the sectors if well managed & regulated can add enamasses to the treasury to foster…

  22. These are some of the sectors if well managed & regulated can add enamasses to the treasury to foster social-economic development within a short period of time. Look at the number of japanese vehicles entering the country daily & the duty paid then you wonder as to where the money is taken to.So if we put our copper & other non traditional exports to the revenue & loans together-Please Zambia can be a different better country & what HH is promising surely it is very easy to attain within a medium term plan to the surprise of his illiterate selfish naysayers!

  23. Greetings dear Zambians.

I have comented this late for i am one of the 6 doctors attending to Edgar Lungu.

I have been with Edgar since he was declared PF President.
Yes today he did not manage to campaign as he was still being attended to by us 6 medical doctors.

Starting from tomorrow Edgar will be campaigning.

But the truth is that the PF Presidential Candidate has very poor healthy, in short our candidate is very sick its only that he is very strong.

Edgar has also been advised by PF doctors that should he over strain himself during these campaigns, then he might die even b4 2016.

Iam not decampaigning him in anyway but i am just updating all PF members on the healthy of our candidate.

What iam saying is despite Hon Edgar Lungu want to contest, the man does not…

  24. Its simply rhetoric and again not nicely reasoned from HH Anyone who follows the energy industrial and tariffs both for utilities and independent power producer will tell you the issues on the current tariffs that are not cost reflective thereby affecting the structure of those tariffs and ultimately the investments in the sector

For fertiliser the current cost as seen in the futures is marginal and will only increase marginally for the foreseeable given the fuel price movements lately also

HH needs to be round if he has to convince many

Sofar the Wilbur Smith thinking on fertilizer is correct but only logistically constrained resulting in delays in some areas

  25. Its should also start at some farm in Namwala Choma road, workers need to treated and paid well with fertilizer and school children supported and sponsored to set an example

Workers who stole ten cattle’s at the HH farm should be forgiven and not treated in the most brutal acts never seen in Namwala to the humiliation of poor villagers families and children

They should be supported by capital contribution for Zesco power not leaving in mud and thatched houses though surrounded by cattle tendering for HH

School Children at the local Boarding school in namwala need Christmas gifts as given by HH in Lusaka when here in the villages at his farm its suffering usual

    Its…

  26. Fake promises

True leadership have shown examples unlike HH village where he has not build water systems for his people, small clinic, some milling plant for his people, meaningful deep tanks and butchery like a few kilometres by Zambeef,He has failed to build a filling station in his area for his people not even a shopping mall later on a meaning lodge or hotel like his colleagues in his area

his people are malnourished despite leaving on cattle and maize which often is supplemented by Gov.

He has failed to lobby for an embankment on the Shimbizi Namwala plains which like Gov. will soon build like one in Kalabo

He has failed to construct meaniful shelter for his…

  27. Unlike Micheal Sata HH is not an action man if he was and since he is accredited with being a businessman our people and Namwala areas including benamwanze cannot continue suffering and dying the way they continue to because of poor leadership and local business minds like HH who for a long-time now have fooled people to believe that development is only through UPND

Of let we have seen the partnership with local MP working with Gov. resulting in many projects and works being done including schools water and roads but if we had true leadership that does not make us tribal then we will see more development form Namwala into Macha to choma including mbila

  28. This late in the game, should he not be offering FREE fertisliser? You know, a donkey for each farmer, which they can user to ‘harvest’ manure from whenever it goes!

    That’s realistic!

  29. people lets give HH the benefit of doubt because he is saying things which he has accomplished as a business man. Look what HH is saying is not new because its happening in Namibia and botswana and for sure zambia deserve better and lets not be doubting thomas the time for change is here as HH will above do the following-
    1. shake up cattle industry in Zambia
    2. boost manufacturing sector.
    3. grow the middle class.
4.reduce import duties and restructure the taxation system.
    5. promote better education
    6. open up north western province by rail /road /pipeline to the west with Angola .
7 -export to the west is shorter and will reduce the cost for zambia.
    8. building new oil refinery and ZAMEFA in kasempa to refine clude oil from angola.
    VOTE HH -FOR BETTER ZAMBIA

  30. Where is Mushota?, we miss her.
Please Mushota , come and join us in celebrating HH, success, catch flight HH 20 January, we are about to board.

  31. These Promise are realisable, HH is a Zambian Business mogul and he WILL DO IT.

@ Sieze Banda 12.4, you ve made my Sunday hahahahaha “Kaleza che” !.
@Jessie Wa Mu Town, Great and elating comments too.
I am seeing a DIFFERENT and a GREATER Zambia BEING BORN under president HH.

PF gave Presidency to HH at Silver Platter.

  33. Was just browsing LT to see the adjusted campaign schedule due to Mr. Lungu’s incapacitation (whether due to transport or hangover, I’ll leave that for you to extrapolate).

I just saw his suit. The white One.

  34. HH – Based on your resume you have the closest qualifications for top leadership. But you are sliding into the typical Zambian politics of 50 years ago by making dictator promises “I will do this and that”. Stop it. Intelligent promises are simple and to the point. The first should be to follow and apply laws fairly regardless of class, race, gender or political orientation. This will reduce evils of corruption, nepotism, police brutality etc. The next should be to allow analytic debate of national issues fairly including reviewing factors leading to high prices of goods and other economic inputs. Zambians will listen to a leader who consults them by laying out a the case, argument or a compelling need to enact a law. Slow down. You are running past your headlights. AKA in the dark.

    • Sanity

There will be a job opening soon for you at the state house…i think the incoming President of Zambia,Hon Edgar Lungu would like to have a word with you. Am serious…

Thanks for being part of the winning team

      2015 vote PF ( Edgar )

      I thank you

  35. No offense my boy Hakainde, but I will be shocked if by January 20th you do not promise one cow to each and every Zambian household. So please save me the suspense and promise that cow already.

  36. FOR HH TO WIN SOLID SUPPORT HE SHOULD VIA FOR AN MP AND SEE HOW HE CAN DELIVERY FOR HIS PEOPLE AND THEN BE APPOINTED AS PARTY PRESIDENT AND LET ALONE STAND FOR AN ELECTION

THE WAY YOU ENTER POLITICS AND IS GROOMED CAN EITHER MAKE YOU OR BREAK LIKE MILES

HH WILL NEVER WIN ANY ELECTION IN ZAMBIA EVEN WHEN IT CLOSE TO CALL

HE HAS EVEN FAILED TO INITIATE AND SUPPORT AGRICULTURAL SECTOR AND LIVESTOCK IN NAMWALA UNLIKE HIS COLLEAGUES IN MKUSHI FARM BLOCK THOUGH IS SAID HE HAS EXCESS MONEY WITH NOTHING TO SHOW FALL NAMWALA IS A HIGHLY IMPOVERISHED AREA AND OTHER SOROUNDING WITH PEOPLE LIVING AND DRINKING IN UNSANITARY CONDITIONS INCLUDING LIVING
    DRINKING LOCAL MADE BREWS…

    • Afro is in fact really hip.
What you got on your head Chile1? If you’re female, I’d wager it’s brazilian hair. If you’re male, you have it adorned on your significant other’s head. With Glue.

  37. @Chile 1-Then you call yourself ati rational blogger just like that when radical bloggers are lamenting on low standards of living by most Zambians & who can radically steer the uprise of this mayhem! To you looking smart is your priority when at home there’s nothing on flies hovering. We know you illiterate PF sycophants who only have 18 days of yapping nonsense!Your yawning days are surely nearer.

  38. @Chile 1-Then you call yourself ati rational blogger just like that when radical bloggers are lamenting on low standards of living by most Zambians & who can radically steer the uprise of this mayhem! To you looking smart is your priority when at home there’s nothing on flies hovering. We know you illiterate PF sycophants who only have 18 days of yapping nonsense!Your yawning days are surely nearer.Boosting with hunger- Not different from late FTJ Chiluba who had countless suits, shoes & monies when his citizenry were wallowing in abject poverty to date! Zwaa!

  39. I think LT is the one creating false impression that HH keeps making new promises. The man as far as I can see from all reports keeps repeating the same message he has been on in all provinces, reduce cost of living, help farmers, support local businesses and entrepreneurs, make basic education free. That’s it, these are achievable things. Let’s start with fuel most of the cost of it is taxes, reduce these and you have fulfilled your promise, pay farmers on time, you have fulfilled your promise, make basic education free through reducing government expenditure and you fulfill your promise, provide incentives to finders to support local businesses and you fulfill your promise. This is common sense promises that can be fulfilled in two years.

  40. HH will provide free education to University level. HH will provide free health care. HH will reduce the price of fertiliser and lower electricity tariffs. HH will reduce taxes being paid by mining companies. HH will reduce the size of cabinet. HH will reduce government borrowing.
HH is failing to tell us from where he will get the money for all this. Does HH know how much the government will spend on free education?
I don’t think HH, is a man with a vision. He has overtaken the PF when it comes to making promises.
Mind you with his one man party HH keeps on saying I will and not my party will
PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA, DO NOT BE CHEATED BY EMPTY PROMISES
VOTE EL WHOSE PARTY HAS BROUGHT DEVELOPMENT

    • PF has brought development at the expense of $4,7 billion debt in 3 years which we can not afford to pay. By the way I thought healthcare is state hospitals was free already so that is basically not a promise on HH’ part, on education free education up to University is not impossible if the government can reduce tax invasion. The I part from HH is justified as in Zambia we elect a president directly not the party so the president must be able to account on his own not use the party as a scapegoat when he messes up. That is why EL’ view that he will carry out Sata legacy is a program he will not taken accountability when he messes up and instead will say he is just implementing the party’ plan.

    • TEKTON, WHAT IS TAX INVASION? TRIED TO FIGURE OUT. DID YOU WANT TO WRITE TAX EVASION. TELL ME HOW MUCH IS THE GOVT CURRENTLY LOSING THROUGH TAX INVASION(EVASION TO ME)? HOW MUCH WILL FREE EDUCATION FROM GRADE 1 TO UNIVERSITY COST PER YEAR? I REPEAT, PEOPLE SHOULD NOT JUST TALK ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO BUT SHOULD ALSO TELL US HOW THEY GOING TO DO. A BIG CHUNK OF THE BUDGET IS DONOR FUNDED AND DONORS DISCOURAGE FREE EDUCATION. HH HAS ALSO TOLD US THAT HE WILL DISCOURAGE BORROWING. SO HOW IS HH GOING TO FUND FREE THIS, FREE THAT. I WILL PUT IT TO YOU, HH IS LYING.

HAS YOUR MR PERFECT, HH TOLD THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA WHY HE WAS SUSPENDED FROM UNZA IN SECOND YEAR?

    • Typo my brother, it is common knowledge that Zambia’s current tax system is so porous that only about 10% to 20% is collected in actual tax. If Zambia can copy a system similar to SA the income received from tax will be significantly increased. There is enough reports out there showing how mining companies have been dodging tax payment through transfer pricing and other dubious accounting methods with impunity, get that sorted and Zambia starts getting revenue into its coffers. Currently you have a government whose majority budget is made up of borrowed funds, a really good budget should be at least 80% from tax collections. Further look at how much money PF wasted on creating districts, that is huge money spent on unproductive nonsense. HH is just the better option at this moment.

  41. Hakaivotela Humwine cannot and I repeat will never win an election in Zambia. Let him make those unattainable promises, let him get funding from his masonic colleagues, let him promise free education from grade 1 to university but come 21st January, 2014, One Edgar Lungu will be at State House. I urge UPND supporters and sympathizers to start going to the gym as on 21st January 2015, most of them will develop heart problems. I can predict divisions and confusion in UPND after losing the next election with their WAMUYAYA candidate. Watch the space….. Viva One Edgar

  42. Oh yes sir , let us first see it from your workers who get peanuts from you. Why haven’t you increased their salaries to at least K 5, 000? From this we can see that HH you are lying what you only want is to get in plot 1 but it will not happen sir.

Zambians know you very well and just wait for 20 January 2015 Edigar Lungu is in plot 1.

Peace and prosperity to Mother Zambia,

  43. Fellow bloggers, let us respect one another irrespective of tribe. We have only one Zambia.

Regarding the promises by HH I think they are blatant lies for the following reasons:
    1. He says he is going to lift wage freeze for Government workers….to what end? It is common knowledge that 75 percent of zambia’s budget goes to civil service personal emoluments and when you couple this with all the ongoing projects plus the fact that as a country we will soon have to start repaying our bonds. Is hh saying he is ready to commit 100percent of zambian budget for service personal emoluments?

    2. Reducing electricity prices. While I do agree that the price of fuel can be reduced due to falling prices on the international market or by reducing local taxes I do not see how the price of…

  44. I do not see how the price of electricity can be reduced because already zambia is not only one of the cheapest in the region and I believe also in the world but the cost of producing new power is way above what Zesco is selling now. Zambia is in the process of developing many new power plants and some of them have already started operating. The cost of producing power from all new power plants in zambia is between 10 to 16us cents per unit and right now we the consumers are paying 7 us cents. Those of you in Europe or elsewhere are paying most likely anything between 10 to 20 u scents/unit ( you can google your respective countries if you want). So how is HH going to reduce the price of electricity without heavy subsidies?

    • I think about campaign promises we all know that detail will come once implementation starts. It does not stop to amaze me how PF supporters suddenly have forgotten how they failed to implement any of their promises. At least HH is not giving any stupid dates like 90 days etc etc. I for one am not giving HH and his party a blank cheque, but to vote for PF after the nonsense they have given us in the past 3 years and also the circus they performed during and after Sata’ funeral, i will be the biggest fool if i voted for them. How much nonsense must one be shown by people elected before one decides to vote them out purely on principal. So for me Edgar Lungu and his team sorry i will not be fooled again. If HH messes up, well he will have only 2 years also and i will vote again him also.

  45. NEXT TIME HE PROMISES GET AN EXCEL SHEET AND SIMULATE STARTING FROM CURRENT NOS ON FORECAST VISION 2030 2015 NATIONAL BUDGET GDP GROWTH RATE AND INFLATION RATES WITH THAT PROJECTED INFLATION RATE AND SEE THE FUNDING GAP

IF IT COMES TO NATIONAL DEBATE TO CATCH HH SIMPLY CARRY THE NATIONAL ACCOUNTS AND FLEX THEN TO FACTOR IN THE PROUNCEMENTS HE HIS MAKING AND ASK HIM TO ADDRESS THE REVENUE LINE ON THE TOP LINE

YOU WILL SEE THE INCONSISTENCY AND LIES THEREIN

  46. FOR WE KNOW THAT THE GROWTH FORECAST FOR THE WORLD SHALL BE ARROUND 2% AND ZAMBIA NEED TO FIT IN THAT JACKET AND CANNOT DO SOMETHING OUT OF THE NORM

CHINA WHCH IS ZAMBIA MAIN FDI MINING INVESTOR AVERAGES 20 TO 30 % FDI IN AFRICA AND ZAMBIA SHARES IN THE SPORES WITH LITTLE OR ANY MEANINGFUL IN FINANCIALS AND OTHER SECTORS OF THE ECONOMY

THE SAME IS DEPICTED BY OTHER AND ZAMBIAS DEPENDECY ON FDI SIMPLY DOESNOT SUPPORT HH PROMISES

HE NEEDS TO SEE THE STAGE OF OUR ECONOMY AND SERIOUS THINK

PF,EDITH NAWAKWI AND CHARLES MILUPI SEEMS TO BE KNOWLEDGEABLE ON THE COUNTRY ECONOMICS INCLUDING MUTATI YOU SIMPLY CANNOT CHANGE RADICALLY THE FUNDAMENTALS AND EXPECT NO…

  47. HH AS A QUALIFIED PARTNER SHOULD KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT FINANCIAL AND OPERATIONAL LEAVERAGE

SOME OF THESE ULTILITIES ARE HIGHLY GEARED AND VERY SENSITIVE TO THE TARRIFF SCENARIO

THERE IS A THIN LINE BETWEEN THEM MAKING A BREAK EVEN POINT OR SAIL THROUGH REDUCING THE TARRIF MIGHT NOT BE HEALTHY TO SUPPORT THE ENERGY SECTOR IN WHOLE

    THINK ABOUT OTHER LINE ITEMS

  48. KASUNI you have hit the nail on the head. Although I did business administration, what HH is promising to deliver does not match the resources available at his disposal. At the same time HH says he is not going to borrow.
HH is trying to use a campaign strategy which was used in the past, make promises which you know you will not fulfil.

I must commend what EL is saying, between now and the next elections his focus will be to finish the projects that are already in motion. Come 2016 ask him what is vision is
I would rather vote for EL who is not promising me the Sun, the moon and the stars(thrown for good measure).

  49. He also needs to be taught business cycles and see as factors that may affect growth as same factors that affect business cycles things line; labour productivity in solwezi, monetary like the Keynes and monetary supply, inflation ,interest rates and technology These cycles must be in tandem and may not be shorterm in flactuation

The cycle from aggregate demand to increase in GDP and those factors in promises

The Cycle from aggregate demand to the reduction in GDP and those factors in promises

Let him apply the school of thoghts in neo, austrian, keynes, the new vs the neo classical and see the effect of his promises and see the good of PF policies

HH Policies are not coherent true
