PF Secretary General Davies Chama

Patriotic Front Secretary General Davis Chama says Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba who has been maneuvering to persuade a few officials to endorse the candidature of UPND President Hakainde Hichilema remains a suspended official since January 2014.

Mr Chama in a statement made available to QFM News says after his suspension, Mr Mwamba’s suspension sought sanctuary in the court.

He says if Mr Mwamba was popular, he would not have hidden in the protection of the court.
He states that if Mr. Mwamba claims he is popular, he should withdraw the court case in court so that the PF can wallop him and his new found party.

Mr Chama has challenged Mr. Mwamba to resign immediately or withdraw his case in court so that his seat can be declared vacant.

He says therefore any action by Mr. Mwamba will reflect a decision of an individual and that decision has no bearing or consequence on the support the Patriotic Front enjoys in Kasama and in Northern Province.

Mr Chama says last week’s visit to Kasama visit by PF President Edgar Lungu demonstrates the support and popularity the party is enjoying.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
29TH DECEMBER 2014

HON. GEOFFREY BWALYA MWAMBA IS A SUSPENDED OFFICIAL

The last few days we have learnt from our party officials in Kasama District that Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba had embarked on maneuvers to persuade a few officials to endorse the candidature of Opposition leader, Hakainde Hichilema.
We watched his activities with keen interest but recognized that whatever action Mr. Mwamba took would not affect the support and popularity that the Patriotic Front enjoys in Kasama and Northern Province.
We wish to state the following:

  1. Mr. Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba remains a suspended official since March 2014.
  2. After the party suspended him, he sought sanctuary in the court,
  3. If he was popular official as he claims, he would not have hidden in the protection of the court.
  4. When he stood as a Member of Parliament in Kabwata, we beat him thoroughly. He only obtained his current seat in Kasama when President Michael Sata gave him an opportunity to stand on a popular party –the PF.
  5. If Mr. Mwamba claims he is popular, he should withdraw the court case in court so that the PF can wallop him and his new found party.
  6. Recently, at the second party General Conference, Mr. Mwamba was walloped by a new Member of Parliament and young leader, Hon. Miles Sampa by a very wide margin
  7. We therefore challenge Mr. Geoffrey Mwamba to resign immediately or withdraw his case in court so that his seat can be declared vacant.
  8. Therefore any action to endorse anyone by Mr. Mwamba will reflect a decision of an individual and that decision has no bearing or consequence on the support the Patriotic Front enjoys in Kasama and in Northern Province.
  9. Last week’s visit to Kasama and Northern Province, by President Edgar Lungu demonstrates the support and popularity the candidature of Hon. Edgar Lungu and the party is enjoying

We are confident that the Patriotic Front will retain its support in its stronghold in Lusaka, Luapula, Copperbelt, Muchinga and Northern provinces.

We are also confident of the gains the party has made in other areas of the country due to the massive infrastructural development embarked on by President Michael Sata and the PF government.

DAVIES CHAMA
SECRETARY GENERAL
PATRIOTIC FRONT

    • The best PF can do is to wish GBM well, every Zambian has the right to support a candidate of their choice.

    • Based on my limited legal understanding, I think that Mr Chama is technically correct. GBM’s case is before the courts, so PF cannot do anything to disadvantage him as he sought an injunction; he was therefore free to contest the PF elections for presidential candidate on this basis. Coming to the statement that the suspensions were lifted, in the case of GBM, this could only be valid with the agreement of both parties (entering a consent judgement in court) or withdrawing the case?

    • Hahahahaha this Davies Chama is reminding me of days when we used to play Kampombwa (football) and one could play ‘chidunu'(hiting anyhow).

This Chama has just done that IN FACT CHAMA is the one WHO IS SUSPENDED. He is shooting aimlessily.

Who chose him in tht Position? Let him say it.

      Its FlightHH2015. Welcime home GBM.

    • Someone please tell me the education credentials of Mr. Chama.
I find him to be awkward and irrational to the extent that the statement pushed out today following GBM’s endorsement of HH quite inferior and without serious thought. I draw you to point number (6) here below:
“Recently, at the second party General Conference, Mr. Mwamba was walloped by a new Member of Parliament and young leader, Hon. Miles Sampa by a very wide margin”
Mr Chama is acknowledging the second party GC which chose Miles Sampa as the winner and yet he is in the wrong camp that has pushed forward EL as the rightful candidate. The whole process of choosing PF candidate was illegal and a sham.
When we form government (UPND) we’ll revisit the question asked by Hon G. Nkombo (MP) on what defense chiefs said to…

    • PF a party of confusion. What is David referring to? How can a suspended person be allowed to go at it, for the presidency position? What was the meaning of all suspensions have been lifted and PF was starting on a new page post the “reconciliation”? Something is seriously wrong with this party and its Dochi kubeba slogan.

    • HH IS DESPERATE AND HE KNOWS THAT BEATING EDGAR LUNGU IS A DREAM DEFERRED. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT GBM’s MAIN INTEREST IS HIS BUSINESS JUST LIKE YOU MENTIONED IT ALREADY.

SO IF HALF OF THE MEMBERS IN UPND ARE THE REJECTED AND KNOWN CORRUPT EX PF MEMBERS,,,,,SO THEN UPND IS WORSE THAN PF.

“SHOW ME YOUR FRIENDS AND I WILL TELL YOU WHO YOU ARE”

If GBM thinks he owns the votes in kasama, then he is cheating himself. It is just him who will support HH and perhaps the wife if she has no right to secret ballot. Be warned GBM!!!!!!!!!!!!

      2015 VOTE PF(EDGAR)

      I THANK YOU

    • Katondo Boys aka Emmanuel Mwamba, don’t forget that at the Kasama rally which you also attended, the crowd would not listen to Willie Nsanda and you requested GBM’s help to quieten the crowd. If Davies Mwila and Kaminamisa Lungu are so popular, why couldn’t they control the crowd?

  2. Mr Chama, if GBM remained a suspended member since February 2014, how did your part allow him to fill in nominations to contest for the PF presidency?

    • Owe neo GBM sought protection from the courts therefore he could not be stopped from standing as P F presidential candidate.

The GBM type is a type of politician we don’t need in zambia. He is only motivated to do something based on his personal monetary gain from the move. This move he is trying to protect his businesses in case H H wins.

  3. I feel sorry for this Guy, he has made a grave mistake, How do u support a looser. Honestly speaking politics aside GBM is not a political heavy weight. how many votes did he garnered at the last convention? He lost to Lubinda as an MP and because of PF he made it in Kasama. he has no influence at all in Kasama, Mark my words, this will not affect Lungu in anyway and once Bakateka Ba lungu wins, this guy will be no more. he failed to make a mark in MMD. and he is contradicting himself big time, who does he think is going to embrace him in PF with his two legs on different symbols.

  4. Mr Chama , you definitely look and seem to be an intelligent man. However it’s your capacity to flip flop that amuses me. If I’m not mistaken just a few days ago all PF suspensions were lifted in line with the spirit of PF reconciliation. Here you are again saying GBM remains suspended. I cannot blame you, in times of desperation even men like you tend to be irrational. You are on the wrong boat sir.

  5. I do not personally believe that GBM’s actions warrants any response beyond wishing him well.
GBM is a lost soul and is desparate to hold on to anything that will mean he remains a political personality on the scene. The worst thing is that UPND is equally desperate and will do anything and accept anyone as long as it appears to reflect their populatrity.
But where are the morals and principles the UPND have been singing all along? Dont tell me this is politics because it is the same answer that PF gave when their lies were exposed.

    • #It’s a worry, i agree with you Mr. Chama could have just ignored GBM and may be at later stage when asked by any journalist, then he could have just wished him well in his new found party. other he is not worth any press release.

So one can vie for president when on suspension?

If this the case, then what a daft PF Constitution it is.

Just say he will contribute only 193 votes to upnd. That is all he could get at the pf convtion. Even a small like Miles beat HIM

  9. GBM is our member as PF up to now though his days in PF are numbered!frankly speaking, even with the support of GBM,HH wont defeat PF in Kasama Central or Northern!honest UPND cadres can agree with me on this one.its like defecting as an MP from UPND to PF in Monze and then dream of retaining the seat on PF,a thing which cant happen!if GBM stands on any other party than PF in Kasama,he wont retain his seat!even in 2015 Edgar Lungu will beat HH in Kasama or Northern!plus you’ll see once EL wins this dull politician will run back to PF hoping to protect his business but please PF reject him!Go PF GO AND VIVA EL!

    • @Eddy – You are bigoted and a waste of blogging space, bytes, bits, electronic pulses, frames, packets and you bring unnecessary congestion to the internet superhighway. Tongas are not racists or tribalist but realists. If you take a poll today to find out how many Tonga men and Tonga women have married Bemba people you will be shocked at how high this number is. People that hate other tribes will not as so much as share a bed and have children with the people they hate – would they now? My family is predominantly Tonga and Bemba. Tonga and Bemba people differ only in traditional nuances that have been almost sidelined due to advancement in modern living. Why should I have to pay dowry in terms of cattle when my parents in-law live in Roma? Where are they going to keep the animals?

      0

    • Tell me Eddy…. where are they going to keep the animals? In your mother’s back yard?

MMD was led by Chiluba (Late) a Bemba speaking man and the whole of Southern Province gave him a resounding YES vote. Did you not know that Eddy? Why don’t you people consult before you rush to spew garbage? Use your internet connectivity to study rather than coming up with stupid and divisive comments. Vote HH and put UPND in power to change the face of Zambia for the better for good! Viva Zambia United, Viva HH.

    • Saki refuses to rejoin UPND

      By Lambwe Kachali

      Thursday June 19, 2008 [04:00]

UNITED Liberal Party (ULP) president Sakwiba Sikota yesterday said UPND president Hakainde Hichilema is not honest in his offer of reconciliation because he has failed to deal with tribalism in the party. Responding to Hichilema who on Tuesday invited him to rejoin UPND in the spirit of national unity and development, Sikota said Hichilema’s offer to the leadership and membership of ULP to rejoin UPND was not genuine and was laced with thorny issues.

Sikota accused Hichilema of playing to the gallery by using the press without apologising to the people that suffered at the 2006 UPND convention and those who were still affected by the alleged tribalism in the party. He said if Hichilema really wanted…

  10. Sorry there are no permanent enemies in politics. If Edgar Mee-too Lungu endorsed HH, he would be welcome. If GBM makes it into cabinet, he will be there to serve and not to make money according to UPND morals.

  11. God answered to our prayers on 28th October 2014. The gift he gave us on this day is continuing to be unpacked. Come 29th January 2015, we are witnessing a party making history by coming into power and vanishing into nothingness before it even concluded it’s term of office. God has forgiven us for the terrible mistake we did in 2011. PF chi Party cha mafighters. Even their symbol of the fist just corresponds to umambala wabo. To helllll………..

    • One I don’t agree with you. GBM is the only man who was able to stand to Sata.

When everyone was saying “Yes” to the non-recognition of Chitimukulu, GBM stood and said “No” to Sata’s decision and resigned his position.

I have never been an admirer of GBM but if you were a forthright person you would agree that he has been gaining credence from the majority of the people, especially in Northern Province.

Mark my words, the Chitimukulu issue is a killer for PF.

  13. Dear Editor,
If my memory serves me right, it was only last week or so that the PF and its SG extended an olive branch to all suspended party members with a pardon. Why should GBM’s case be an exception. Smells a lot of panic in the air. But unfolding events are, fortunately, unstoppable!
    Endikke

    0

    0
    • Yes the SG extended an olive branch but GBM opted not to take it unless he was made campaign managers for Northern province and there after be given a Cabinet post should EL win the elections At the second illegal convention GBM was soundly beaten by Miles Sampa. Although GBM transported some of those delegates at his expense from Northern province, they never voted for him. The situation on the ground was that the majority of PF members in the province felt that GBM sphere of influence did not extend beyond Kasama central and therefore could not be made campaign manager for the whole province. It was then decided that each area MP would be made campaign manager for their constituent. GBM felt that this was not enough for him as he would have little leverage for a Cabinet post once EL won

  14. If GBM has been on suspension since Feb 2014, why was he campaigning in North Western Province along side Given Lubinda and other PF members after Kabimba’s dismissal? The statement by Davies Chama proves right what the ZWD and Post has been saying that the reconciliation was cosmetic. Guy Scott’s suspension will resurrect after 20/01/2015. This is a bunch of fools not to be trusted.

  17. Ba GBM do not over rate yourself because of the size of your body. You have little influence out side Kasama as witnessed by the results of the second illegal convention.

  18. Going by number of comments here Gbm is a political heavy weight. Umwana wamfumu nankwe litensha chalo(GBM). Ba Chama D mwilatutekunya. Why did you allow him to contest at yo unsuccessful gn?
Gbm is no longer on suspension coz his accusers are no longer there. His suspension was lifted and became ineffective when his accusers were ejected.
Just announce his new suspension otherwise you are potraying yourself as a desperate and dull character. Big up. Just wish him well. Very soon you will join him. Who will welcome you there?
But GBM carries weight. The pf is like feeling the heat from all directions now. Gbm is a one vote man as others have said, not so?
