Patriotic Front President Edgar Lungu has been advised to satisfactorily put to an end the continued speculation about his health by personally making a public statement.
The Zambian Voice Executive Director Chilufya Tayali says the issue of Mr. Lungu’s health must be taken seriously.
Mr Tayali notes that the fashion in which concerns over Mr. Lungu’s health are being dismissed is similar to the manner concerns over late President Michael Sata’s health were being refuted.
Mr. Tayali has told Qfm News that this is why his organisation wants Mr. Lungu, who is also Defence and Justice Minister, to make a clear position on his health.
He says this is especially that Mr. Lungu is vying for the country’s presidency and therefore the issue of his health must not be taken for granted.

How can a serious presidential candidate be away from public eye for 5 days when elections are in 3 weeks. Edgar Vodka Lungu is not serious. he has no respect for the electorate. I know you support Lungu,but the issue at hand is serious,because Zambians are tired of burying presidents. Why should people talk about Lungu’s health and not of other candidates,it means they have seen some indications of something unhealthy either on his face,body or voice. Let Lungu speak for himself,we will not believe anyone other than Lungu himself because this is how things started on sata and George chella and other pf zealots were vehemently denying it until sata died.

In 2011 I voted to remove MMD from power because of corruption which had become endemic. I voted for PF because it was more likely to win and I did achieve my mission. This time around I’m voting for a President who will take Zambia forward economically.We need civility in our nation – we can not continue to be ruled by Kaponyas.

What Mr. Tayali is saying is important but not a right thing. The issue of health of any person is a personal preserve despite the fact that he is vying for presidency. One thing should be clear that he cannot be dancing to the tune of enemies by parading himself to show that he is well. Next time his enemies will bring another issue which may force him again to respond. Proverbs tells us that when a fool speaks, keep quiet. Who does not know that his enemies whats to use the romuours on the late Sata on Edgar as a campaign tool. Who is health and sick between Edgar and hh or any other candidate? You cannot tell by looking. People of Zambia, all negative reports about Edgar are baseless, they have tried to fight him before Sata’s burial but there he is and they will continue until his Z1
If Vodka hasnt been seen for the past five days then there is reason to be concerned. This is how it started with Sata until he was brought back in a casket. Even when Sata was on oxygen his handlers kept on saying he was physically fit and enjoying good health.

Tayali my friend, there is no constitutional condition for EL to come out – its his choice. even though i am voting for HH, i believe we need to be objective here. let us not victimize him in as much as i concur with you that he needs to evaluate himself, just like any other candidate, to the pressures of presidency. i know as zambians, we noticed our late president slowly going into obscurity and all the PF stalwarts were in the forefront labelling those who were calling for him to step aside as lunatics or something to that effect. what is surely lacking here is the constitutional provision that must force ALL candidates to undergo medical tests. i feel for EL because i know he is loved by some people genuinely; but i really doubt the current people surrounding him mean well.
I like the Edgar Lungu camp. Few days before the election and:
? 1-Dr. Scott with wife Charlotte in the lower Zambezi.
? 2-Lungu out to raise funds.
? 3-Nsanda, campaign manager, admitted to hospital.
This is just a great winning team!
ZWD informed the nation that EL due to his poor health will fail to campaign and we saw it on sat, sun and Monday. Contradicting statements as to why he missed the planned rallies came from different mouths.
Then the post also added more by actually raising national security concerns in addition to validating the ZWD revelations.
One would have expected EL to show up either riding a by cycle or jogging on Sat, Sunday or Monday in front of cameras instead of having different people issuing contradicting statements on his behalf.
