MMD National Executive Committee (NEC) member Raphael Nakachinda has urged Zingalume residents of Lusaka’s Matero Constituency to vote for party president Nevers Mumba in this month’s presidential polls.
Addressing a sizeable crowd at Muchinga Ground this afternoon, Mr Nakachinda said Dr Mumba should be given a chance to rule Zambia because he is a man of a sober mind.
Mr Nakachinda said Dr Mumba cannot bring shame to the nation because he is a seasoned christian who abides by Godly values.
He described Dr Mumba as a man of the people who has been pastoring for over 30 years further stating that he cannot fail to govern the country due to wide experience acquired in doing Godly work.
And MMD national Treasurer Elizabeth Chitika-Molobeka said PF should not be voted into power because they made promises to the Zambian people which they have not fulfilled.
She said the PF promised more money in the people’s pockets but wondered how people can get money without empowering them with jobs.
She urged the people to vote for Dr Mumba stating that he has the capacity to totally free the nation from corruption.
Meanwhile, at the same rally,former Solwezi mayor Emmanuel Chilingi said the people of Zambia should hire Dr Mumba for the top job because he is intelligent man with the interests of the people at heart.
He accused other political leaders of vying for presidency only with the motive of enriching their pockets and families.
The MMD rally attracted renowed gospel musicians such as Kings Malambe Malembe, Mweshi Mulusa and Mathews Ngosa among others who treated the gathering to some dancing.
Dr Mumba has continued with his campaign rallies countrywide for the January 20 presidential election after former Rupiah Banda who was earlier nominated by the MMD National Executive Committee (NEC) was barred from standing on the party ticket a Supreme court ruling in a matter raised by Dr Mumba.
Poor old MMD,the best Dr Mumba can do is endorse HH

Very interesting observation indeed because it excludes HH in totality.
How ever Dr Mumba is also one of those vying public office to enrich himself and his family.

You can be wise at 40years and become a fool at 77years.Rb the man who insulted sata is now in pf the party who except for GBM and Chikwanda unanimously voted for the removal of his immunity.now that RB has endorsed edgar I will wait to hear from father bwalya the man of God,Lubinda too.bwalya constantly said Rupiah was corrupt.
Dr Nevers should really consider pulling out of the presidential race.
He would be better off joining the party that ‘is the real deal,’ PF! If he negotiates a senior gov’t post, he will at least get a taste of being in gov’t with a winning party. That should give him invaluable years of Political Leadership experience if he sticks around.
I expect it will be difficult with RB being popular in PF!

This election to them is about personal fulfilment and prestige of office,not about Zambia’s interests.
Interesting indeed. The New MMD Hope is the only formidable team which has the best team under Dr. Mumba. Dr. mumba has what it takes. He has the experence after serving as vice president. The New MMD is not arrogant because all the Dora silias are no more. Lets give MMD and Dr. Mumba a chance. He means well for the country.
Let Nevers contest on MMD ticket. Why is it that UPND sympathizers want Mumba to work with HH? Mumba is a better candidate than this your under 5 Hakaivotela Humwine. Mumba has been VP, high commissioner and that makes him better. Having said that, on the 20th, all well meaning Zambians know who to vote for and that is Edgar Chagwa Lungu. The man is humble, true in his promises and can easily interact with anybody. He is the man of the moment and leading a party that has national appeal. The truth hates but Edgar will be the 6th president come 21st Jan……
