Zambia beat South African club Witbank Spurs in a training game as they prepare to leave for the 2015 Africa Cup.

Zambia beat the South Africa National First Division side 2-0 on Monday.

Strikers Emmanuel Mayuka of Southampton and Zesco United’s Jackson Mwanza were both on target.

This was Zambia’s second win in a training game against an NFD team after beating Jomo Cosmos 4-0 last Friday.

Zambia will kick-off their Africa Cup campaign on January 18 when they face DR Congo in their opening Group B game in Ebebiyin.

  1. President Yoweri Museveni has blamed confessed believers in Uganda for the increasing evils faced in the country today.
He said 85 percent of the population in Uganda is Christians while 12 percent are Muslims making 97 percent believers in God but wondered why cases of murder, sexual immorality, human sacrifice, corruption and embezzlement among others exist in the country.
The President said if believers aspired to be God fearing people and faithful stewards living in harmony with each other, respecting the environment and genuinely loved God, the country would be the most peaceful place and full of blessings than it is even today.

  2. Really, what can I say? Like “wow!” …… Pa last nikuyanganako chabe. I will just perform my duty as a national supporter

    • The idea is to instill a winning mentality into the Chipolopolo boys. In this way they will gain confidence!!!

    • EXACTLY. MY POINT. YOU DEFEAT AN INSECT AND EXPECT TO BEAT A LION. IT DOESNT WORK. EVEN DAVID HAD TO KILL A LION OR BEAR BEFORE HE COULD DARE TO WITHSTAND GOLIATH.

  3. Ba Zambia ..awe sure..

Its like revising with grade 7 questions but you are writing grade 12 exams.

Ati because i want to instill a passing mentality..Awe sure..!

  4. Please people, this was a training game. There is a difference between a friendly game and a training game. Zambia needs both at the moment.

  5. Nsense tubatwalile abene ba Janza bakayonawile!!!! Balekeni mayo abene, kuti batbepesha nga baya filwa. He and ba FAZ have been advised, they know the truth that Zambia needed serious preparations before going to Equatorial Guinea. Kalusha and his coach know this, but they have decided to do things their own way. At a time when all our opponents are busy working hard, organizing quality friendly matches to fine tune their teams, our team is playing a division 1 team in S.A. Lets give these guys enough rope to tie themselves. After AFCON bonse out.

  6. I think someone up there is right ! This was just a training game which basically didn’t even deserve to be reported !
About the analogy of Grade 7 and Grade 12 : that does not hold water because most of these players were in the qualifiers and played some tough games !
Also , we need to strike a fine balance between playing tough teams and avoiding injuries !
Right now I think it would not be very wise to risk injuries by engaging in very tough games coz it’s late ! ( maybe only one more would be acceptable , but otherwise maybe no ) !
Our friends SA risk starting the tournament tired !

  7. They were better off playing local teams in Zambia. They could have also used that money to play neighboring teams such as Malawi, Tanzania or Zimbabwe instead of camping in SA.

  8. south africa are playing teams like cameroun while ivory coast are playing nigeria then ba zambia ati witbank.prepare for more depressions

  9. The benefits of playing against Zimbabwe etc definitely outweighs playing against Witbank Spurs. The injury story may not be entirely true as injuries can happen when playing against any team, whether national team or club.
